Psalms 36

1 For the end, by David the servant of the Lord. The transgressor, that he may sin, says within himself, [that] there is no fear of God before his eyes.

[Salmo] di Davide, servitor del Signore, [dato] al Capo de' Musici IL misfatto dell'empio mi dice dentro al cuore, [Ch'egli] non [ha] timore alcuno di Dio davanti agli occhi.

2 For he has dealt craftily before him, to discover his iniquity and hate it.

Perciocchè egli si lusinga appo sè stesso, Per venire a capo della sua iniquità, [che è pur] da odiare.

3 The words of his mouth are transgression and deceit: he is not inclined to understand [how] to do good.

Le parole della sua bocca [sono] iniquità e frode; Egli non ha più intelletto da far bene.

4 He devises iniquity on his bed; he gives himself to every evil way; and does not abhor evil.

Egli divisa iniquità sopra il suo letto; Egli si ferma nella via [che] non [è] buona, Egli non abborre il male.

5 O Lord, your mercy is in the heaven; and your truth [reaches] to the clouds.

O Signore, la tua benignità [arriva] infino al cielo, [E] la tua verità infino alle nuvole.

6 Your righteousness is as the mountains of God, your judgements are as a great deep: O Lord, you will preserve men and beasts.

La tua giustizia [è] simile a monti altissimi; I tuoi giudicii [sono] un grande abisso. O Signore, tu conservi uomini e bestie.

7 How have you multiplied your mercy, O God! so the children of men shall trust in the shelter of your wings.

O Dio, quanto preziosa [è] la tua benignità! Perciò i figliuoli degli uomini si riducono sotto l'ombra delle tue ale;

8 They shall be fully satisfied with the fatness of your house; and you shall cause them to drink of the full stream of your delights.

Son saziati del grasso della tua Casa; Tu li abbeveri del torrente delle tue delizie.

9 For with you is the fountain of life: in your light we shall see light.

Perciocchè appo te [è] la fonte della vita; E per la tua luce noi veggiamo la luce.

10 Extend your mercy to them that know you; and your righteousness to the upright in heart.

Stendi la tua benignità inverso quelli che ti conoscono, E la tua giustizia inverso quelli che son diritti di cuore.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of sinners move me.

Non vengami addosso il piè del superbo; E la mano degli empi non mi smuova.

12 There have all the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast out, and shall not be able to stand.

[Ecco] là, gli operatori d'iniquità son caduti; Sono stati sospinti, e non son potuti risorgere.
