< Psalms 24 >
1 A Psalm for David on the first day of the week. A Psalm for David on the first day of the week. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof; the world, and all that dwell in it.
The earth is Jehovah's, and the fullness thereof, the world, and those who dwell therein.
2 He has founded it upon the seas, and prepared it upon the rivers.
For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall go up to the mountain of the Lord, and who shall stand in his holy place?
Who shall ascend into the hill of Jehovah? And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that is innocent in his hands and pure in his heart; who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully to his neighbour.
He who has clean hands, and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive a blessing from the Lord, and mercy from God his Saviour.
He shall receive a blessing from Jehovah, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek the face of the God of Jacob. (Pause)
This is the generation of those who seek after him, who seek thy face, even Jacob. (Selah)
7 Lift up your gates, you princes, and be you lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the king of glory shall come in.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.
8 Who is this king of Glory? the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
Who is the King of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your gates, you princes; and be you lift up, you everlasting doors; and the king of glory shall come in.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates. Yea, lift them up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.
10 Who is this king of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is this king of glory.
Who is this King of glory? Jehovah of hosts, He is the King of glory. (Selah)
