Psalms 140
1 For the end, a Psalm of David. Rescue me, O Lord, from the evil man; deliver me from the unjust man.
Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va, xin hãy giải cứu tôi khỏi kẻ ác, Bảo hộ tôi khỏi người hung bạo,
2 Who have devised injustice in their hearts; all the day they prepared war.
Là kẻ toan mưu ác nơi lòng: Hằng ngày chúng nó hiệp lại đặng tranh chiến.
3 They have sharpened their tongue as [the tongue] of a serpent; the poison of asps is under their lips. (Pause)
Chúng nó mài nhọn lưỡi mình như rắn, Có nọc độc rắn hổ trong môi mình.
4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hand of the sinner; rescue me from unjust men; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va, xin hãy giữ tôi khỏi tay kẻ ác, Bảo hộ tôi khỏi người hung bạo, Là kẻ toan mưu làm bước tôi vấp ngã.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and have stretched out ropes [for] snares for my feet; they set a stumbling block for me near the path. (Pause)
Những kẻ kiêu ngạo đã gài bẫy và trăng dây cho tôi, Giương lưới dọc dài theo đường; Chúng nó cũng đặt vòng gài tôi.
6 I said to the Lord, You are my God; listen, O Lord, to the voice of my supplication.
Tôi thưa cùng Ðức Giê-hô-va rằng: Ngài là Ðức Chúa Trời tôi. Ðức Giê-hô-va ôi! Xin lắng tai nghe tiếng nài xin của tôi.
7 O Lord God, the strength of my salvation; you have screened my head in the day of battle.
Hỡi Chúa Giê-hô-va, là sức lực về sự cứu rỗi tôi, Chúa che chở đầu tôi trong ngày chiến trận.
8 Deliver me not, O Lord, to the sinner, according to my desire: they have devised [mischief] against me; forsake me not, lest they should be exalted. (Pause)
Hỡi Ðức Giê-hô-va, xin chớ ứng hoàn sự ước ao kẻ ác; Chớ giúp thành mưu kế nó, e nó tự cao chăng.
9 [As for] the head of them that compass me, the mischief of their lips shall cover them.
Nguyện sự gian ác của môi những kẻ vây tôi Bao phủ đầu chúng nó!
10 Coals of fire shall fall upon them on the earth; and you shall cast them down in afflictions: they shall not bear up [under them].
Nguyện than lửa đỏ đổ trên chúng nó! Nguyện chúng nó bị quăng vào lửa, Trong nước sâu, chẳng cất dậy được nữa!
11 A talkative man shall not prosper on the earth: evils shall hunt the unrighteous man to destruction.
Người nào có lưỡi gian trá chẳng được vững lập trong xứ; Tai họa sẽ đuổi theo kẻ hung bạo đặng đánh đổ hắn.
12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the poor, and the right of the needy ones.
Tôi biết rằng Ðức Giê-hô-va sẽ binh vực duyên cớ kẻ khổ nạn, Ðoán xét công bình cho người thiếu thốn.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name: the upright shall dwell in your presence.
Người công bình hẳn sẽ cảm tạ danh Chúa; Người ngay thẳng sẽ ở trước mặt Chúa.
