< Psalms 137 >
1 For David, [a Psalm] of Jeremias. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat; and wept when we remembered Sion.
Babilonia nsubɔnten ho, ɛhɔ na yɛtena suu bere a yɛkaee Sion no.
2 We hung our harps on the willows in the midst of it.
Ɛhɔ konkɔn so nnua mu na yɛde yɛn asanku sensɛnee,
3 For there they that had taken us captive asked of us the words of a song; and they that had carried us away [asked] a hymn, [saying], Sing us [one] of the songs of Sion.
ɛhɔ na yɛn nnommumfafo kaa se yɛnto nnwom, yɛn ahohiafo hwehwɛɛ anigye nnwom fii yɛn nkyɛn; wɔkae se, “Monto Sion nnwom baako nkyerɛ yɛn!”
4 How should we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?
Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na yɛatumi ato Awurade nnwom, bere a yɛwɔ ananafo asase so?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget [its skill].
Yerusalem, sɛ me werɛ fi wo a ma me nsa nifa werɛ mfi sankubɔ.
6 May my tongue cleave to my throat, if I do not remember you; if I do not prefer Jerusalem as the chief of my joy.
Sɛ mankae wo a, ma me tɛkrɛma nka ntare mʼanom sɛ mamfa Yerusalem sɛ mʼanigyede kɛse pa ara a.
7 Remember, O Lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase [it], rase [it], even to its foundations.
Kae, Awurade, nea Edomfo yɛɛ da a Yerusalem hwee ase no. Wɔteɛɛ mu se, “Munnwiriw, munnwiriw ngu fam nkɔka ne fapem!”
8 Wretched daughter of Babylon! blessed [shall he be] who shall reward you as you have rewarded us.
Ɔbabea Babilonia, wɔadome wo akɔ ɔsɛe mu, nea otua wo ka bio ani gye wɔ nea wode ayɛ yɛn no ho.
9 Blessed [shall he be] who shall seize and dash your infants against the rock.
Nea ɔkyere wo nkokoaa de wɔn dwiradwira abotan no ani gye.
