Psalms 111

1 Alleluia. I will give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart, in the council of the upright, and [in] the congregation.

سپاس بر خداوند! خداوند را با تمام دل خود در میان قوم او ستایش خواهم کرد.

2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out according to all his will.

کارهای خداوند چه شگفت‌انگیزند! همهٔ کسانی که به آنها علاقمند هستند در باره‌شان می‌اندیشند.

3 His work is [worthy of] thanksgiving and honour: and his righteousness endures for ever and ever.

کارهای خداوند شکوهمند است و عدالتش جاودانی!

4 He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is merciful and compassionate.

کارهای شگفت‌انگیز خداوند، فراموش نشدنی است! او رحیم و بخشنده است!

5 He has given food to them that fear him: he will remember his covenant for ever.

خداوند، روزی ترسندگان خود را می‌رساند، او هرگز عهد خود را از یاد نمی‌برد.

6 He has declared to his people the power of his works, to give them the inheritance of the heathen.

خداوند سرزمین قومهای بیگانه را به بنی‌اسرائیل بخشید و به این وسیله قدرتش را به قوم خود نشان داد.

7 The works of his hands are truth and judgement: all his commandments are sure:

هر کاری که خداوند انجام می‌دهد، درست و منصفانه است. همهٔ احکام او قابل اعتماد می‌باشند.

8 established for ever and ever, done in truth and uprightness.

کارها و احکام خداوند تا ابد باقی می‌مانند، زیرا بر عدل و راستی بنا شده‌اند.

9 He sent redemption to his people: he commanded his covenant for ever: holy and fearful is his name.

او با دادن فدیه، قوم خود را آزاد کرده است و با آنها عهد ابدی بسته است. او مقدّس و قدرتمند است.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and all that act accordingly have a good understanding; his praise endures for ever and ever.

ترس خداوند سرآغاز حکمت است. خداوند به همهٔ کسانی که دستورهایش را اجرا می‌کنند، حکمت می‌بخشد. خداوند را تا ابد سپاس باد.
