< Psalms 111 >
1 Alleluia. I will give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart, in the council of the upright, and [in] the congregation.
Hallelujah! I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out according to all his will.
Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 His work is [worthy of] thanksgiving and honour: and his righteousness endures for ever and ever.
Splendid and majestic is His work; His righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is merciful and compassionate.
He has caused His wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate.
5 He has given food to them that fear him: he will remember his covenant for ever.
He provides food for those who fear Him; He remembers His covenant forever.
6 He has declared to his people the power of his works, to give them the inheritance of the heathen.
He has shown His people the power of His works by giving them the inheritance of the nations.
7 The works of his hands are truth and judgement: all his commandments are sure:
The works of His hands are truth and justice; all His precepts are trustworthy.
8 established for ever and ever, done in truth and uprightness.
They are upheld forever and ever, enacted in truth and uprightness.
9 He sent redemption to his people: he commanded his covenant for ever: holy and fearful is his name.
He has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained His covenant forever; holy and awesome is His name.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and all that act accordingly have a good understanding; his praise endures for ever and ever.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts gain rich understanding. His praise endures forever!
