< Psalms 106 >

1 Alleluia. Give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
Mou fakamālō kia Sihova. Mou ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi kia Sihova; he ʻoku angalelei ia: koeʻuhi ʻoku tolonga ʻo taʻengata ʻa ʻene ʻaloʻofa.
2 Who shall tell the mighty acts of the Lord? [who] shall cause all his praises to be heard?
Ko hai ʻe faʻa fakamatala ki he ngaahi ngāue lahi ʻa Sihova? Ko hai ʻe faʻa fakahā ʻae fakamālō kotoa pē kiate ia?
3 Blessed are they that keep judgement, and do righteousness at all times.
‌ʻOku monūʻia ʻakinautolu ʻoku tokanga ki he fakamaau, mo ia ʻoku fai māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
4 Remember us, O Lord, with the favour [you have] to your people: visit us with your salvation;
‌ʻE Sihova, ke ke manatuʻi au ʻaki ʻae ʻofa ʻaia ʻoku ke ʻofa ʻaki ki hoʻo kakai: ke ke ʻaʻahi mai kiate au ʻaki hoʻo fakamoʻui;
5 that we may behold the good of your elect, that we may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that we may glory with your inheritance.
Koeʻuhi ke u mamata ki he lelei ʻo ia kuo ke fili, koeʻuhi ke u fiefia ʻi he fiefia ʻo ho puleʻanga, pea u vikiviki ai fakataha mo ho tofiʻa.
6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have transgressed, we have done unrighteously.
Ko kimautolu mo ʻemau ngaahi tamai kuo mau fai angahala, kuo mau fai ʻae ngaahi hia, kuo mau fai kovi.
7 Our fathers in Egypt understood not your wonders, and remembered not the multitude of your mercy; but provoked [him] as they went up by the Red Sea.
Naʻe ʻikai ʻilo ʻe heʻemau ngaahi tamai hoʻo ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻi ʻIsipite; naʻe ʻikai tenau manatu ki hono lahi ʻo hoʻo ngaahi ʻaloʻofa; ka naʻa nau fakahouhau kiate ia ʻi he tahi, ʻio, ʻi he Tahi Kulokula.
8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might cause his mighty power to be known.
Ka naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu koeʻuhi ko hono huafa, koeʻuhi ke ne fakaʻilo ʻa hono mālohi lahi.
9 And he rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up: so he led them through the deep as through the wilderness.
Naʻe valoki foki ʻe ia ʻae Tahi Kulokula, pea mōmoa ia: ko ia naʻa ne tataki ʻakinautolu ʻi he loloto, ʻo hangē ko e toafa.
10 And he saved them out of the hand of them that hated [them], and redeemed them out of the hand of the enemy.
Pea naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻo ia naʻe fehiʻa kiate kinautolu, mo ne huhuʻi ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻoe fili.
11 The water covered those that oppressed them: there was not one of them left.
Pea naʻe lōmakiʻi honau ngaahi fili ʻaki ʻae ngaahi vai: pea naʻe ʻikai hao ha tokotaha ʻiate kinautolu.
12 Then they believed his words, and celebrated his praise.
13 They made haste, they forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel.
14 And they lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the dry [land].
Ka naʻa nau holi kovi ʻaupito ʻi he toafa, pea ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻae ʻOtua ʻi he potu lala.
15 And he gave them their request, and sent fullness into their souls.
16 They provoked Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
Naʻa nau meheka foki kia Mōsese ʻi he loto ʻapitanga, mo ʻElone ko e tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻa Sihova.
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and closed upon the congregation of Abiron.
Naʻe mafahi ʻae kelekele pea folo hifo ai ʻa Tatani, mo ʻufiʻufi ai ʻae kakai ʻo ʻEpilami.
18 And a fire was kindled in their congregation, and a flame burnt up the sinners.
Pea naʻe tutu ai ʻae afi ʻi honau kakai; pea vela ke ʻosi ʻe he ulo afi ʻae kau angahala.
19 And they made a calf in Choreb, and worshipped the graven image,
Naʻa nau ngaohi ʻae fakatātā ʻoe ʻuhikiʻi pulu ʻi Holepi, pea lotu ki he fakatātā koula.
20 and they changed their glory into the similitude of a calf that feeds on grass.
Naʻe pehē ʻenau liliu honau nāunau, ki he fakatātā ʻoe pulu ʻaia ʻoku kai mohuku.
21 They forgot God that saved them, who had wrought great deeds in Egypt;
Naʻa nau fakangalongaloʻi ʻae ʻOtua ko honau fakamoʻui, ʻaia naʻe fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi ʻi ʻIsipite;
22 wondrous [works] in the land of Cham, and terrible things at the Red Sea.
Ko e ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻi he fonua ʻo Hami, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakailifia ʻi he Tahi Kulokula.
23 So he said that he would have destroyed them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn [him] away from the fierceness of his anger, so that he should not destroy them.
24 Moreover they set at nothing the desirable land, and believed not his word.
‌ʻIo, naʻa nau fehiʻa ki he fonua lelei, naʻe ʻikai tenau tui ki heʻene folofola:
25 And they murmured in their tents: they listened not to the voice of the Lord.
26 So he lifted up his hand against them, to cast them down in the wilderness;
Ko ia naʻa ne hiki hake ai hono nima kiate kinautolu, ke tulaki ʻakinautolu ʻi he toafa:
27 and to cast down their seed amongst the nations, and to scatter them in the countries.
Ke tulaki foki honau hako ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga, mo fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi he ngaahi fonua.
28 They were joined also to Beelphegor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. And they provoked him with their devices;
Naʻa nau ului foki kia Peali-Peoli, mo nau kai ʻae ngaahi feilaulau ʻoe mate.
29 and destruction, was multiplied amongst them.
Ko ia naʻa nau fakahouhauʻi ia ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi filioʻi: pea naʻe ʻoho mai ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha kiate kinautolu.
30 Then Phinees stood up, and made atonement: and the plague ceased.
Pea naʻe toki tuʻu hake ʻa Finiasi, ʻo fai ʻae fakamaau: pea naʻe lolomi ai ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha.
31 And it was counted to him for righteousness, to all generations for ever.
Pea naʻe lau ia kiate ia ko e māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ngaahi toʻutangata kotoa pē ʻo lauikuonga.
32 They provoked him also at the water of Strife, and Moses was hurt for their sakes;
Naʻa nau fakahouhau kiate ia foki ʻi he ngaahi vai ʻoe fekeʻikeʻi, pea hoko ʻae kovi kia Mōsese koeʻuhi ko kinautolu:
33 for they provoked his spirit, and he spoke [unadvisedly] with his lips.
Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau fakatupu hono loto, ko ia naʻa ne lea ʻaki ʻae lea taʻengali ʻe hono loungutu.
34 They destroyed not the nations which the Lord told them [to destroy];
Naʻe ʻikai tenau fakaʻauha ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga, ʻaia naʻe fekau ʻe Sihova kiate kinautolu:
35 but were mingled with the heathen, and learnt their works.
Ka naʻa nau nofo fakataha mo e hiteni, pea nau ʻilo ʻenau ngaahi ngāue.
36 And they served their graven images; and it became an offence to them.
37 And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils,
‌ʻIo, naʻa nau feilaulau ʻaki honau ngaahi foha mo honau ngaahi ʻofefine ki he kau tēvolo,
38 and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Chanaan; and the land was defiled with blood.
Mo lilingi ʻae toto māʻoniʻoni, ko e toto ʻo honau ngaahi foha mo honau ngaahi ʻofefine, ʻakinautolu naʻa nau feilaulau ʻaki ki he ngaahi tamapua ʻo ʻi he toto.
39 and was polluted with their works; and they went a whoring with their own devices.
Pea naʻe fakaʻuliʻi pehē ʻakinautolu ʻi heʻenau ngaahi ngāue, pea nau fai feʻauaki ʻi heʻenau ngaahi filioʻi.
40 So the Lord was very angry with his people, and he abhorred his inheritance.
Ko ia naʻe tupu ai ʻae houhau ʻo Sihova ki hono kakai, pea ne fākaliliʻa ai ki hono tofiʻa ʻoʻona.
41 And he delivered them into the hands of [their] enemies; and they that hated them ruled over them.
42 Ands their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought down under their hands.
Pea naʻe fakamālohiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻe honau ngaahi fili, pea fakamoʻulaloa ʻakinautolu ki honau lalo nima.
43 Many a time he delivered them; but they provoked him by their counsel, and they were brought low by their iniquities.
Naʻe liunga lahi ʻene fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu; ka naʻa nau fakahouhauʻi ia ʻi heʻenau fakakaukau, pea naʻe fakavaivaiʻi ʻakinautolu koeʻuhi ko ʻenau hia.
44 You the Lord looked upon their affliction, when he heard their petition.
Ka naʻa ne tokanga ki heʻenau mamahi, ʻi heʻene ongoʻi ʻenau tangi:
45 And he remembered his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercy.
Pea ne manatuʻi ʻa ʻene fuakava mo kinautolu, pea ne fakatomala ʻo fakatatau mo hono lahi ʻo ʻene ʻaloʻofa.
46 And he caused them to be pitied in the sight of all who carried them captive.
47 Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from amongst the heathen, that we may give thanks to your holy name, that we may glory in your praise.
Fakamoʻui ʻakimautolu, ʻE Sihova ko homau ʻOtua, pea tānaki ʻakimautolu mei he lotolotonga ʻoe hiteni, ke mau fakafetaʻi ki ho huafa māʻoniʻoni, pea hanuhanu ʻi he fakamālō kiate koe.
48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting and to everlasting; and all the people shall say, Amen, Amen.
Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova koe ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli talu mei muʻa ʻo aʻu ʻo taʻengata; pea tuku ke lea pehē ʻe he kakai kotoa pē ʻEmeni. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova.
