Psalms 106
1 Alleluia. Give thanks to the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা করো। সদাপ্রভুর ধন্যবাদ করো, কারণ তিনি মঙ্গলময়; তাঁর দয়া অনন্তকালস্থায়ী।
2 Who shall tell the mighty acts of the Lord? [who] shall cause all his praises to be heard?
কে সদাপ্রভুর পরাক্রমী কাজকর্ম প্রচার করতে পারে অথবা তাঁর প্রশংসা সম্পূর্ণ ঘোষণা করতে পারে?
3 Blessed are they that keep judgement, and do righteousness at all times.
ধন্য তারা, যারা ন্যায় কাজ করে, এবং যা সঠিক তা সর্বদা পালন করে।
4 Remember us, O Lord, with the favour [you have] to your people: visit us with your salvation;
আমাকে মনে রেখো, হে সদাপ্রভু, যখন তুমি তোমার প্রজাদের উপর অনুগ্রহ করো, যখন তুমি তাদের রক্ষা করো, আমাকে সাহায্য করো,
5 that we may behold the good of your elect, that we may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that we may glory with your inheritance.
যেন আমি তোমার মনোনীতদের সমৃদ্ধি দেখতে পাই, যেন তোমার জাতির আনন্দে অংশীদার হতে পারি এবং তোমার অধিকারের সঙ্গে যোগ দিয়ে ধন্যবাদ দিতে পারি।
6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have transgressed, we have done unrighteously.
আমরা পাপ করেছি, যেমন আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরাও করেছে; আমরা অপরাধ করেছি এবং অধর্মাচরণ করেছি।
7 Our fathers in Egypt understood not your wonders, and remembered not the multitude of your mercy; but provoked [him] as they went up by the Red Sea.
আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা যখন মিশরে ছিল, তারা তোমার আশ্চর্য কাজগুলি বিবেচনা করেনি, তারা তোমার অপার দয়ার কথা মনে রাখেনি, বরং সাগরের তীরে, লোহিত সাগরের তীরে, তারা বিদ্রোহী হয়েছিল।
8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might cause his mighty power to be known.
তবুও তাঁর নামের গুণে এবং তাঁর মহাপরাক্রম প্রকাশ করার উদ্দেশে, তিনি তাদের রক্ষা করেছিলেন।
9 And he rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up: so he led them through the deep as through the wilderness.
তিনি লোহিত সাগরকে তিরস্কার করলেন আর তা শুকিয়ে গেল; মরুভূমির মতো সমুদ্রতলের মধ্য দিয়ে তিনি তাদের নিয়ে গেলেন।
10 And he saved them out of the hand of them that hated [them], and redeemed them out of the hand of the enemy.
তিনি বিপক্ষদের কবল থেকে তাদের রক্ষা করলেন; শত্রুদের হাত থেকে তিনি তাদের মুক্ত করলেন।
11 The water covered those that oppressed them: there was not one of them left.
জলধিস্রোত তাদের প্রতিপক্ষদের গ্রাস করল একজনও বেঁচে রইল না।
12 Then they believed his words, and celebrated his praise.
তখন তারা তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতিতে বিশ্বাস করল এবং তাঁর প্রশংসা করল।
13 They made haste, they forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel.
কিন্তু তারা অবিলম্বে তাঁর কাজগুলি ভুলে গেল, এবং তাঁর সুমন্ত্রণার অপেক্ষাতেও রইল না।
14 And they lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the dry [land].
মরুভূমিতে তারা তাদের আকাঙ্ক্ষায় আসক্ত হল; মরুপ্রান্তরে তারা ঈশ্বরের পরীক্ষা করল।
15 And he gave them their request, and sent fullness into their souls.
তাই তিনি তাদের প্রার্থিত বস্তু দিলেন, কিন্তু তার সঙ্গে তাদের মধ্যে ক্ষয়রোগ পাঠালেন।
16 They provoked Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
তারা শিবিরের মধ্যে মোশির প্রতি আর সদাপ্রভুর পবিত্র লোক হারোণের প্রতি ঈর্ষা করল।
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and closed upon the congregation of Abiron.
পৃথিবী বিভক্ত হয়ে দাথনকে গ্রাস করল; অবীরাম ও তার দলবলকে সমাধিস্থ করল।
18 And a fire was kindled in their congregation, and a flame burnt up the sinners.
তাদের অনুসরণকারীদের মাঝে আগুন জ্বলে উঠল; আগুনের শিখা দুষ্টদের দগ্ধ করল।
19 And they made a calf in Choreb, and worshipped the graven image,
সীনয় পর্বতে তারা এক বাছুর নির্মাণ করল এবং ধাতু নির্মিত সেই মূর্তির আরাধনা করল।
20 and they changed their glory into the similitude of a calf that feeds on grass.
এভাবে তারা তাদের গৌরবের ঈশ্বরের সাথে তৃণভোজী এক বলদের প্রতিমা বিনিময় করল।
21 They forgot God that saved them, who had wrought great deeds in Egypt;
যে ঈশ্বর তাদের রক্ষা করেছিলেন তারা তাঁকে ভুলে গেল, যিনি মিশরে মহান কাজ করেছিলেন,
22 wondrous [works] in the land of Cham, and terrible things at the Red Sea.
হামের দেশে বিভিন্ন আশ্চর্য কাজ, আর লোহিত সাগরতীরে ভয়াবহ কাজকর্ম করেছিলেন,
23 So he said that he would have destroyed them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn [him] away from the fierceness of his anger, so that he should not destroy them.
তাই তিনি বললেন যে তিনি তাদের ধ্বংস করবেন; কিন্তু মোশি, তাঁর মনোনীত সেবক, সদাপ্রভু ও তাঁর লোকেদের মাঝে দাঁড়ালেন, তিনি তাঁর কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন যেন তিনি তাঁর ক্রোধ থেকে মুখ ফেরান এবং তাদের ধ্বংস না করেন।
24 Moreover they set at nothing the desirable land, and believed not his word.
এরপর তারা সেই মনোরম দেশটিকে তুচ্ছ করল; তারা তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতিতে বিশ্বাস করল না।
25 And they murmured in their tents: they listened not to the voice of the Lord.
নিজেদের তাঁবুতে তারা অভিযোগ জানালো, আর সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ পালন করল না।
26 So he lifted up his hand against them, to cast them down in the wilderness;
তাই তিনি তাদের বিরুদ্ধে হাত তুলে শপথ করলেন, যে তিনি তাদের মরুপ্রান্তরে বিনাশ করবেন,
27 and to cast down their seed amongst the nations, and to scatter them in the countries.
যে তিনি তাদের বংশধরদের বিভিন্ন জাতির মধ্যে বিক্ষিপ্ত করবেন, এবং তাদের বিভিন্ন দেশে ছড়িয়ে দেবেন।
28 They were joined also to Beelphegor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. And they provoked him with their devices;
তারপর তারা পিয়োরের বায়াল-দেবতার আরাধনায় যুক্ত হল এবং প্রাণহীন দেবতাদের প্রতি নিবেদিত বলি ভোজন করল;
29 and destruction, was multiplied amongst them.
তাদের সব অনাচারে তারা সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধ প্রজ্বলিত করল, আর তাদের মধ্যে এক মহামারি নেমে এল।
30 Then Phinees stood up, and made atonement: and the plague ceased.
তখন পীনহস উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে মধ্যস্থতা করলেন, আর মহামারি বন্ধ হল।
31 And it was counted to him for righteousness, to all generations for ever.
এই কাজ তাঁর পক্ষে ধার্মিকতা বলে পুরুষানুক্রমে চিরকালের জন্য গণ্য হল।
32 They provoked him also at the water of Strife, and Moses was hurt for their sakes;
মরীবার জলস্রোতের কাছে তারা সদাপ্রভুকে ক্রুদ্ধ করল, আর তাদেরই জন্য মোশির বিপদ ঘটল;
33 for they provoked his spirit, and he spoke [unadvisedly] with his lips.
কেননা তারা ঈশ্বরের আত্মার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করল, আর তাই বেপরোয়া কথা মোশির মুখে উচ্চারিত হল।
34 They destroyed not the nations which the Lord told them [to destroy];
তারা জাতিদের বিনষ্ট করল না যেমন সদাপ্রভু তাদের আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন,
35 but were mingled with the heathen, and learnt their works.
বরং তারা অন্যান্য জাতিদের সঙ্গে মিলেমিশে গেল আর তাদের রীতিনীতি গ্রহণ করল।
36 And they served their graven images; and it became an offence to them.
তাদের প্রতিমাগুলির আরাধনা করল, আর সেইসব তাদের ফাঁদ হয়ে উঠল।
37 And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils,
এমনকি তারা তাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের মিথ্যা দেবতাদের উদ্দেশে বলি দিল।
38 and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Chanaan; and the land was defiled with blood.
তারা নির্দোষের রক্তপাত করল, নিজেদের ছেলেমেয়েদের রক্ত, যাদের তারা কনান দেশের প্রতিমাদের উদ্দেশে বলি দিল, আর তাদের রক্তে সারা দেশ কলুষিত হল।
39 and was polluted with their works; and they went a whoring with their own devices.
আপন কর্মের ফলে তারা নিজেদের অশুচি করল, নিজেদের ক্রিয়াকলাপে তারা ব্যভিচারী হল।
40 So the Lord was very angry with his people, and he abhorred his inheritance.
তাই সদাপ্রভু নিজের প্রজাদের উপর ক্রুদ্ধ হলেন তিনি নিজের অধিকারকে ঘৃণা করলেন।
41 And he delivered them into the hands of [their] enemies; and they that hated them ruled over them.
তাদের তিনি জাতিদের হাতে সমর্পণ করলেন, এবং তাদের বিপক্ষরা তাদের উপর শাসন করল।
42 Ands their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought down under their hands.
তাদের শত্রুরা তাদের উপর অত্যাচার করল এবং তাদের শত্রুদের শক্তির সামনে তারা নত হল।
43 Many a time he delivered them; but they provoked him by their counsel, and they were brought low by their iniquities.
বহুবার তিনি তাদের উদ্ধার করলেন, কিন্তু তারা স্বেচ্ছায় তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহী হল, আর শেষে তারা নিজেদের পাপে ধ্বংস হল।
44 You the Lord looked upon their affliction, when he heard their petition.
কিন্তু যখন তিনি তাদের কান্না শুনলেন, তিনি তাদের দুর্দশার প্রতি দৃষ্টিপাত করলেন;
45 And he remembered his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercy.
তাদের সুবিধার্থে তিনি নিজের নিয়ম স্মরণ করলেন এবং তাঁর মহান প্রেমের কারণে তিনি নরম হলেন।
46 And he caused them to be pitied in the sight of all who carried them captive.
যারা তাদের দাসত্বে বন্দি করেছিল, তিনি তাদের অন্তরে করুণার সঞ্চার করলেন।
47 Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from amongst the heathen, that we may give thanks to your holy name, that we may glory in your praise.
হে সদাপ্রভু, আমাদের ঈশ্বর, আমাদের রক্ষা করো, জাতিদের মধ্য থেকে আমাদের একত্রিত করো, যেন আমরা তোমার পবিত্র নামের ধন্যবাদ করতে পারি, এবং তোমার প্রশংসায় মহিমা করতে পারি।
48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting and to everlasting; and all the people shall say, Amen, Amen.
ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা হোক, অনাদিকাল থেকে অনন্তকাল পর্যন্ত, সব লোকজন বলুক, “আমেন!” সদাপ্রভুর প্রশংসা হোক।
