Psalms 105
1 Alleluia. Give thanks to the Lord, and call upon his name; declare his works amongst the heathen.
Danket Jahwe, ruft seinen Namen an! Macht unter den Völkern seine Thaten kund!
2 Sing to him, yes, sing praises to him: tell forth all his wonderful works.
Singet ihm! Lobsingt ihm! Redet von allen seinen Wundern.
3 Glory in his holy name: let the heart of them that seek the Lord rejoice.
Rühmt euch seines heiligen Namens; es freue sich das Herz derer, die Jahwe suchen.
4 Seek you the Lord, and be strengthened; seek his face continually.
Fragt nach Jahwe und seiner Stärke, sucht beständig sein Angesicht.
5 Remember his wonderful works that he has done; his wonders, and the judgements of his mouth;
Gedenkt seiner Wunder, die er gethan, seiner Zeichen und der Urteilssprüche seines Mundes,
6 [you] seed of Abraam, his servants, [you] children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
Nachkommen Abrahams, seine Knechte, Söhne Jakobs, seine Auserwählten!
7 He is the Lord our God; his judgements are in all the earth.
Er, Jahwe, ist unser Gott; über die ganze Erde ergehen seine Gerichte.
8 He has remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded for a thousand generation:
Er gedenkt ewig seines Bunds, des Wortes, das er verordnet hat, auf tausend Geschlechter,
9 which he established as a covenant to Abraam, and [he remembered] his oath to Isaac.
des Bundes, den er mit Abraham geschlossen, und seines Schwurs an Isaak.
10 And he established it to Jacob for an ordinance, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant;
Und er stellte ihn für Jakob als eine Satzung hin, als einen ewig giltigen Bund für Israel, -
11 saying To you will I give the land of Chanaan, the line of your inheritance:
indem er sprach: “Dir will ich das Land Kanaan verleihen als euer erbliches Besitztum!” -
12 when they were few in number, very few, and sojourners in it.
als sie noch gering an Zahl waren, gar wenige, und als Fremdlinge darin weilten.
13 And they went from nation to nation, and from [one] kingdom to another people.
Und sie zogen von Volk zu Volk, von einem Königreiche zu einer anderen Nation.
14 He suffered no man to wrong them; and he rebuked kings for their sakes:
Er gestattete niemandem, sie zu bedrücken, und strafte um ihretwillen Könige.
15 [saying], Touch not my anointed ones; and do my prophets no harm.
“Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht an und thut meinen Propheten kein Leid!”
16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land; he broke the whole support of bread.
Als er nun eine Hungersnot ins Land rief, jegliche Stütze an Brot zerbrach,
17 He sent a man before them; Joseph was sold for a slave.
da hatte er ihnen bereits einen vorausgesandt; Joseph war als Sklave verkauft.
18 They hurt his feet with fetters; his soul passed into iron,
Sie hatten seine Füße in den Block gezwängt, in Eisenfesseln war er gekommen,
19 until the time that his cause came on; the word of the Lord tried him as fire.
bis zu der Zeit, wo sein Wort eintraf, der Ausspruch Jahwes ihn bewährte.
20 The king sent and loosed him; [even] the prince of the people, and let him go free.
Da sandte der König hin und machte ihn los, der Völkerbeherrscher, und befreite ihn.
21 He made him Lord over his house, and ruler of all his substance;
Er machte ihn zum Herrn über sein Haus und zum Herrscher über allen seinen Besitz,
22 to chastise his rulers at his pleasure, and to teach his elders wisdom.
daß er seine Fürsten nach seinem Belieben feßle und seine Vornehmen klug mache.
23 Israel also came into Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Cham.
Und Israel kam nach Ägypten und Jakob weilte als Fremdling im Lande Hams.
24 And he increased his people greatly, and made them stronger than their enemies.
Und er machte sein Volk überaus fruchtbar und machte es zahlreicher als seine Bedränger.
25 And he turned their heart to hate his people, to deal craftily with his servants.
Er wandelte ihren Sinn, sein Volk zu hassen, an seinen Knechten Arglist zu üben.
26 He sent fort Moses his servant, [and] Aaron whom he had chosen.
Er sandte Mose, seinen Knecht, Aaron, den er erwählt hatte.
27 He established amongst them his signs, and [his] wonders in the land of Cham.
Er verrichtete an ihnen seine Wunder und seine Zeichen am Lande Hams.
28 He sent forth darkness, and made it dark; yet they rebelled against his words.
Er sandte Finsternis und machte es finster, aber sie achteten nicht auf sein Wort.
29 He turned their waters into blood, and killed their fish.
Er verwandelte ihre Gewässer in Blut und ließ ihre Fische sterben.
30 Their land produced frogs abundantly, in the chambers of their kings.
Ihr Land wimmelte von Fröschen in den Gemächern ihrer Könige.
31 He spoke, and the dog-fly came, and lice in all their coasts.
Er gebot, da kamen Hundsfliegen, Stechmücken in ihr ganzes Gebiet.
32 He turned their rain into hail, [and sent] flaming fire in their land.
Er sandte ihnen Hagel als Regen, flammendes Feuer in ihr Land.
33 And he struck their vines and their fig trees; and broke every tree of their coast.
Er schlug ihren Weinstock und ihren Feigenbaum und zerschmetterte die Bäume ihres Gebiets.
34 He spoke, and the locust came, and caterpillars innumerable,
Er gebot, da kamen die Heuschrecken und die Fresser ohne Zahl.
35 and devoured all the grass in their land, and devoured the fruit of the ground.
Die fraßen alle Pflanzen in ihrem Land und fraßen die Frucht des Feldes.
36 He struck also every firstborn of their land, the first fruits of all their labour.
Er schlug alle Erstgeborenen in ihrem Lande, die Erstlinge all' ihrer Manneskraft.
37 And he brought them out with silver and gold; and there was not a feeble one amongst their tribes.
Er ließ sie ausziehen mit Silber und Gold, und es gab keinen Strauchelnden unter seinen Stämmen.
38 Egypt rejoiced at their departing; for the fear of them fell upon them.
Ägypten freute sich über ihren Auszug, denn es hatte sie Schrecken vor ihnen befallen.
39 He spread out a cloud for a covering to them, and fire to give them light by night.
Er breitete Gewölk als Decke aus und Feuer, um die Nacht zu erhellen.
40 They asked, and the quail came, and he satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
Sie forderten, da ließ er Wachteln kommen und sättigte sie mit Himmelsbrot.
41 He clave the rock, and the waters flowed, rivers ran in dry places.
Er öffnete den Felsen, da flossen Wasser, rannen in der Dürre als ein Strom.
42 For he remembered his holy word, which [he promised] to Abraam his servant.
Denn er gedachte an sein heiliges Wort, an Abraham, seinen Knecht,
43 And he brought out his people with exultation, and his chosen with joy;
und führte sein Volk in Freuden heraus, seine Auserwählten unter Jubel.
44 and gave them the lands of the heathen; and they inherited the labours of the people;
Er verlieh ihnen die Länder der Heiden, und was die Völker mit Mühe erworben, das nahmen sie in Besitz,
45 that they might keep his ordinances, and diligently seek his law.
damit sie seine Satzungen hielten und seine Weisungen beobachteten. Rühmet Jah!
