< Proverbs 29 >

1 A reprover is better than a stiff-necked man: for when the latter is suddenly set on fire, there shall be no remedy.

2 When the righteous are praised, the people will rejoice: but when the ungodly rule, men mourn.

3 When a man loves wisdom, his father rejoices: but he that keeps harlots will waste wealth.
Chihna ngaisang pa din apa akipah jin, hinlah noti hotoh kivop jingpan vang anei le agou amangchai bep e.
4 A righteous king establishes a country: but a transgressor destroys [it].
Thu dihtah'a atan jeh chun lengpan, gamsunga chen detna aphutdoh jin; hinlah nehguh kilah pan vang, gamsung amanthahsah jin ahi.
5 He that prepares a net in the way of his own friend, entangles his own feet in it.
Aheng akom lhem a pang pan, akeng tenia akipal lhuhna ding thang akido ahibouve.
6 A great snare [is spread] for a sinner: but the righteous shall be in joy and gladness.
Migilou chu ama le ama athangkam achun a-oh jin, mikitah vang chun la-asan akipah thanom jitai.
7 A righteous man knows how to judge for the poor: but the ungodly understands not knowledge; and the poor man has not an understanding mind.
Mikitah in vaichate dihna chu asuhmil peh ngaipon, migilou ding in vang hitobang thil hi het ahahsai.
8 Lawless men burn down a city: but wise men turn away wrath.
Mi tot chavei hon khopi jeng jong meijin ahal lha jiuvin, miching hon vang lunghanna jeng jong apeldoh theijun ahi.
9 A wise man shall judge nations: but a worthless man being angry laughs and fears not.
Michingin mingol akinahpia ahileh, mingol chu alung hangin anuisat bep jin, hinlah lungkim na aum poi.
10 Bloody men hate a holy [person], but the upright will seek his soul.
Mi thisan sohat hon nolnabei ho athet uvin, chule migilou in nolnabei mi chu thisan sodin ahol lejin ahi.
11 A fool utters all is mind: but the wise reserves his in part.
Mingol alunghan pet leh im neilou in aum jin, miching vang chu ima seilouvin aim mang jitai.
12 When a king hearkens to unjust language, all his subjects are transgressors.
Vaihom pan thujou sei akhohsah'a ahileh, ama thumop ho jouse chu migilou ngen soh diu ahi.
13 When the creditor and debtor meet together, the Lord oversees them both.
Vaichapa le asugentheipa jong kimuto ding, ijehinem itileh amit teni lhon hasah jong Yahweh Pakai ahi.
14 When a king judges the poor in truth, his throne shall be established for a testimony.
Lengpan vaichate chu akitoh toa thu atanpeh a ahileh, alaltouna imatih chan a kiphut det ding ahi.
15 Stripes and reproofs give wisdom: but an erring child disgraces his parents.
Mol thoa kiphona hin chihna atah lang in, ama chamtah'a lhaji chapang chun anu ajumso teije.
16 When the ungodly abound, sins abound: but when they fall, the righteous are warned.
Migilouhon vai ahom'uva thaneija apan tenguleh, bolkhelna atam cheh jin; hinlah mikitah hon migilou ho lhuhpet amu diu ahi.
17 Chasten your son, and he shall give you rest; and he shall give honour to your soul.
Nachapa nahil chah le tha ol-na nanei thei ding, chuteng ama jal'a nakipa ding ahi.
18 There shall be no interpreter to a sinful nation: but he that observes the law is blessed.
Gaothu kisei louna mun achun mipi alamvai jin, hinlah Dan thu nit chan chu anun nom ahiye.
19 A stubborn servant will not be reproved by words: for even if he understands, still he will not obey.
Thu cheng jengseh in soh chu athunun joupon, aman ahet vang in khohsahna anei thei jipoi.
20 If you see a man hasty in [his] words, know that the fool has hope rather than he.
Geltoh louva thusei namu khah em? Hitobang mihem sang chun mingol chunga kinepna aum joi.
21 He that lives wantonly from a child, shall be a servant, and in the end shall grieve over himself.
Sohkhat aneova pat hoithona'a hin khou khah achun, achaina teng ama nei le gou loa apan akimudoh jin ahi.
22 A furious man stirs up strife, and a passionate man digs up sin.
Mi alungsa jenga chun kinahna asodoh jin, chule lunghanna'a dim jing michun bolkhel tampi anei lojie.
23 Pride brings a man low, but the Lord upholds the humble-minded with honour.
Mihem kiti hi kiletsah nan ahinsuh nemji ahin, koi hileh alungthim a kineosah chan chu mi jabolna chang ding ahi.
24 He that shares with a thief, hates his own soul: and if any having heard an oath uttered tell not of it,
Gucha kithopia pang chun ama hinkho tahbah jong adei pon, gaosapna thu ajah jeng vang in imacha aphongdoh jipoi.
25 [they] fearing and reverencing men [unreasonably] have been overthrown, but he that trusts in the Lord shall rejoice. Ungodliness causes a man to stumble: but he that trusts in his master shall be safe.
Mihem a kingaina kiti hi kipalna ahin, Yahweh Pakaija kisongpa vang chu hoidoh tei ding ahi.
26 Many wait on the favour of rulers; but justice comes to a man from the Lord.
Mi tamtah in vaihompa lung lhaisah ding angaito uvin, hinlah thudih tanna hi Yahweh Pakaija hung konbou ahi.
27 A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man, and the direct way is an abomination to the sinner.
Mikitah ho din thu adih louva tanpa hi thet umtah ahin, chule migilou ding in jong adih jenga lamjotpa chu thet umtah ahi.
