< Proverbs 24 >

1 [My] son, envy not bad men, nor desire to be with them.
not be jealous in/on/with human distress: evil and not (to desire *Q(k)*) to/for to be with them
2 For their heart meditates falsehoods, and their lips speak mischiefs.
for violence to mutter heart their and trouble lips their to speak: speak
3 A house is built by wisdom, and is set up by understanding.
in/on/with wisdom to build house: home and in/on/with understanding to establish: establish
4 By discretion the chambers are filled with all precious and excellent wealth.
and in/on/with knowledge chamber to fill all substance precious and pleasant
5 A wise man is better than a strong man; and a man who has prudence than a large estate.
great man wise in/on/with strength and man knowledge to strengthen strength
6 War is carried on with generalship, and aid is supplied to the heart of a counsellor.
for in/on/with counsel to make to/for you battle and deliverance: victory in/on/with abundance to advise
7 Wisdom and good understanding are in the gates of the wise: the wise turn not aside from the mouth of the Lord,
to exalt to/for fool(ish) wisdom in/on/with gate not to open lip his
8 but deliberate in council. Death befalls uninstructed [men].
to devise: devise to/for be evil to/for him master: [master of] plot to call: call to
9 The fools also dies in sins; and uncleanness [attaches] to a pestilent man.
wickedness folly sin and abomination to/for man to mock
10 He shall be defiled in the evil day, and in the day of affliction, until he be utterly consumed.
to slacken in/on/with day distress narrow strength your
11 Deliver them that are led away to death, and redeem them that are appointed to be slain; spare not [your help].
to rescue to take: take to/for death and to shake to/for slaughter if to withhold
12 But if you should say, I know not this man; know that the Lord knows the hearts of all; and he that formed breath for all, he knows all things, who renders to every man according to his works.
for to say look! not to know this not to measure heart he/she/it to understand and to watch soul your he/she/it to know and to return: pay to/for man like/as work his
13 [My] son, eat honey, for the honeycomb is good, that your throat may be sweetened.
to eat son: child my honey for pleasant and honey sweet upon palate your
14 Thus shall you perceive wisdom in your soul: for if you find it, your end shall be good, and hope shall not fail you.

15 Bring not an ungodly man into the dwelling of the righteous: neither be deceived by the feeding of the belly.
not to ambush wicked to/for pasture righteous not to ruin rest his
16 For a righteous man will fall seven times, and rise [again]: but the ungodly shall be without strength in troubles.
for seven to fall: fall righteous and to arise: rise and wicked to stumble in/on/with distress: harm
17 If your enemy should fall, rejoice not over him, neither be elated at his overthrow.
in/on/with to fall: fall (enemy your *Q(K)*) not to rejoice and in/on/with to stumble he not to rejoice heart your
18 For the Lord will see [it], and it will not please him, and he will turn away his wrath from him.
lest to see: see LORD and be evil in/on/with eye: appearance his and to return: turn back from upon him face: anger his
19 Rejoice not in evil-doers, neither be envious of sinners.
not to be incensed in/on/with be evil not be jealous in/on/with wicked
20 For the evil man shall have no posterity: and the light of the wicked shall be put out.
for not to be end to/for bad: evil lamp wicked to put out
21 [My] son, fear God and the king; and do not disobey either of them.
to fear: revere [obj] LORD son: child my and king with to change not to pledge
22 For they will suddenly punish the ungodly, and who can know the vengeance [inflicted] by both?
for suddenly to arise: rise calamity their and disaster two their who? to know
23 And this thing I say to you that are wise [for you] to learn: It is not good to have respect of persons in judgement.
also these to/for wise to recognize face: kindness in/on/with justice: judgement not pleasant
24 He that says of the ungodly, He is righteous, shall be cursed by peoples, and hateful amongst the nations.
to say to/for wicked righteous you(m. s.) to curse him people be indignant him people
25 But they that reprove [him] shall appear more excellent, and blessing shall come upon them;
and to/for to rebuke be pleasant and upon them to come (in): come blessing good
26 and [men] will kiss lips that answer well.
lips to kiss to return: reply word: speaking straightforward
27 Prepare your works for [your] going forth, and prepare yourself for the field; and come after me, and you shall rebuild your house.
to establish: prepare in/on/with outside work your and be ready her in/on/with land: country to/for you after and to build house: home your
28 Be not a false witness against your [fellow] citizen, neither exaggerate with your lips.
not to be witness for nothing in/on/with neighbor your and to open wide in/on/with lips your
29 Say not, As he has treated me, so will I treat him, and I will avenge myself on him for that wherein he has injured me.
not to say like/as as which to make: do to/for me so to make: do to/for him to return: pay to/for man like/as work his
30 A foolish man is like a farm, and a senseless man is like a vineyard.
upon land: country man sluggish to pass and upon vineyard man lacking heart
31 If you let him alone, he will altogether remain barren and covered with weeds; and he becomes destitute, and his stone walls are broken down.
and behold to ascend: rise all his thorn to cover face: surface his nettle and wall stone his to overthrow
32 Afterwards I reflected, I looked that I might receive instruction.
and to see I to set: consider heart my to see: see to take: recieve discipline: instruction
33 [The sluggard says, ]I slumber a little, and I sleep a little, and for a little while I fold my arms across [my] breast.
little sleep little slumber little folding hand to/for to lie down: sleep
34 But if you do this, your poverty will come speedily; and your lack like a swift courier.
and to come (in): come to go: follow poverty your and need your like/as man shield
