< Proverbs 10 >

1 A wise son makes [his] father glad: but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.
Solomon thuchih ho: Chapa chingin apa aki pasah jin; Chapa ngol vang anu ding in lungkham na bep ahi.
2 Treasures shall not profit the lawless: but righteousness shall deliver from death.
Gitlouna le engset jeh'a kilamdoh gouchu phat chompi thei ahipon, hinlah chondih nahin hinkho jeng jong ahuhdoh jin ahi.
3 The Lord will not famish a righteous soul: but he will overthrow the life of the ungodly.
Yahweh Pakai in michonpha chu kelthoh in akoi jipon, chule milungthim phalou ho ngaichat akhohsah jipoi.
4 Poverty brings a man low: but the hands of the vigourous make rich. A son who is instructed shall be wise, and shall use the fool for a servant.
Khut chaloh sah nomlou thase chun vaichatna alhut ding, khut umthim thei lou chun haosatna amu ding ahi.
5 A wise son is saved from heat: but a lawless son is blighted of the winds in harvest.
Chapa ching in nipi laileh neh akikhol khomin, neh kikhol khom laija kinomsah chapa vang chun jumna amu tei ding ahi.
6 The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just: but untimely grief shall cover the mouth of the ungodly.
Michonpha luchanga phattheina gobang in ajun, mikitah ho kamsunga vang pumtho changa thuseina jeng apot in ahi.
7 The memory of the just is praised; but the name of the ungodly [man] is extinguished.
Mikitah chu akisumil thei jipon, mikitah lou ho min vang chomlou kah'a kisumil ding ahi.
8 A wise man in heart will receive commandments; but he that is unguarded in his lips shall be overthrown in his perverseness.
Miching in thu kisei chan asanje ahen, amoh a thusei vang chu mangthah ding ahi.
9 He that walks simply, walks confidently; but he that perverts his ways shall be known.
Lungthim kitah a kalsonna chu monna ahin, achena tinchang kisuh boi-achu matdoh a um tei ding ahi.
10 He that winks with his eyes deceitfully, procures griefs for men; but he that reproves boldly is a peacemaker.
Aphalou lam galdot chun gimna asodoh jin, hangsan tah'a mi phohsal a sudih chun chamna asemdoh jin ahi.
11 [There is] a fountain of life in the hand of a righteous man; but destruction shall cover the mouth of the ungodly.
Michonpha kamsung chu hinna twinah tobang ahin, miphalou ho kamsunga vang ki nah na ding thuseina jeng apot in ahi.
12 Hatred stirs up strife; but affection covers all that do not love strife.
Kivetda nahin kinahna asodoh sah jin, ngailut na vang chun thilse jouse asel mang jitai.
13 He that brings forth wisdom from his lips smites the fool with a rod.
Thil hetthemna neipa vang chun akamsunga kon thu aseidoh chan le chihna amu jin, lungthim beipa vang chun aphahsam a moltum adou jing ding ahi.
14 The wise will hide discretion; but the mouth of the hasty draws near to ruin.
Miching hon hetna akhol chen un, mingol kamtam hon hamset na akiloilut jiuvin ahi.
15 The wealth of rich men is a strong city; but poverty is the ruin of the ungodly.
Mihaoho nei leh gou hi akulpia apang jin, vaichate neilal na vang chun manthahna asojin ahi.
16 The works of the righteous produce life; but the fruits of the ungodly [produce] sins.
Michonpha chun atohga dungjui'a hinna alhut jin, migilou ho phatchomna vang chun chonsetna alhut jitan ahi.
17 Instruction keeps the right ways of life; but instruction unchastened goes astray.
Min ahilna ngaipha chun hinna lam ajot jin, min aphona ngaimahpa vang chu avah mang jitai.
18 Righteous lips cover enmity; but they that utter railings are most foolish.
Alungthim'a mudana neipa chun jouthu jeng asei jin, mi enghotna thuseipa vang angol ahi.
19 By a multitude of words you shall not escape sin; but if you refrain your lips you will be prudent.
Thu tamseina hin seikhel aumsah teijin, hinlah akam kihup them mi chu mi ching ahi.
20 The tongue of the just is tried silver; but the heart of the ungodly shall fail.
Mikitah pa kamcheng hi dangka manlu tobang ahin, mikitah lou ho lungthim vang pannabei jeng ahi.
21 The lips of the righteous know sublime [truths]: but the foolish die in lack.
Mikitah pa kamsunga kon in mitampi vah va na ding thu apot jin, mingol ho vang lungthim beijin amang thah jitauve.
22 The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the righteous; it enriches [him], and grief of heart shall not be added to [it].
Yahweh Pakai phattheina chan hi haodohna ahin, hichun lungkhamna asodoh sah jipon ahi.
23 A fool does mischief in sport; but wisdom brings forth prudence for a man.
Thilse bol hi mingol ding in kichep golnop abang jin, thil hetthemna neipa ding in limgeh a chon hi lungkimna ahi.
24 The ungodly is engulfed in destruction; but the desire of the righteous is acceptable.
Miphalou in mi akichat sahna chu ama chunga ale-lhun jin, mikitah ding in angaichat chan Elohim Pathen in apeh tei ding ahi.
25 When the storm passes by, the ungodly vanishes away; but the righteous turns aside and escapes for ever.
Khopi hui alan a gopi ajuh teng, miphalou chu atol tha jitan, hinlah mikitah vang tonsot geija tundoh ahitai.
26 As a sour grape is hurtful to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so iniquity hurts those that practise it.
Juthuh hin ha ajatsah bang le, meikhun mit athipsah bang in, mithase jong agolpa ding in doujou ahipoi.
27 The fear of the Lord adds [length] of days: but the years of the ungodly shall be shortened.
Elohim Pathen ginna hi hinkho sotna ahin, miphalou ho hinkho vang kisuchom ding ahi.
28 Joy rests long with the righteous: but the hope of the ungodly shall perish.
Mikitah ho kinepna chu kipana ahin, miphalou ho kinepna vang pannabei ahi.
29 The fear of the Lord is a strong hold of the saints: but ruin [comes] to them that work wickedness.
Mikitah ding in Yahweh Pakai hi bitna ahin, thil phalou bolte dinga vang manthahna ahi.
30 The righteous shall never fail: but the ungodly shall not dwell in the earth.
Mikitah chu kisuloh lou hel ding, miphalou ho vang gamsunga kon'a kichon mang ding'u ahi.
31 The mouth of the righteous drops wisdom: but the tongue of the unjust shall perish.
Mikitah kamsunga kon in chihna apot jin, aphalouva thu motsei vang chu aleigui kitan ding ahi.
32 The lips of just men drop grace: but the mouth of the ungodly is perverse.
Mikitah chun akam sunga kon in lahthei aseidoh jin, miphalou ho kamsunga kon in vang thu chavei jeng apot jin ahi.
