Proverbs 1
1 The Proverbs of Solomon son of David, who reigned in Israel;
இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனும் தாவீதின் மகனுமான சாலொமோனின் நீதிமொழிகள்:
2 to know wisdom and instruction, and to perceive words of understanding;
இவைகளால் ஞானத்தையும் அறிவுரையையும் கற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம்; நுண்ணறிவுள்ள வார்த்தைகளையும் விளங்கிக்கொள்ளலாம்.
3 to receive also hard saying, and to understand true justice, and [how] to direct judgement;
இவைகளால் நேர்மை, நீதி, நியாயம் ஆகியவற்றைச் செய்ய, அறிவுரையும் விவேகமும் உள்ள வாழ்க்கையை வாழ உதவுகிறது.
4 that he might give subtlety to the simple, and to the young man discernment and understanding.
இவைகள் அறிவற்றவர்களுக்கு விவேகத்தையும், வாலிபர்களுக்கு அறிவையும் அறிவுடைமையையும் கொடுக்கின்றன.
5 For by the hearing of these a wise man will be wiser, and man of understanding will gain direction;
ஞானமுள்ளவர்கள் இவைகளைக் கேட்டு, தங்கள் அறிவைக் கூட்டிக்கொள்ளட்டும்; பகுத்தறிவு உள்ளவர்கள், இவைகளினால் வழிநடத்துதலைப் பெறட்டும்.
6 and will understand a parable, and a dark speech; the saying of the wise also, and riddles.
இவைகளினால் நீதிமொழிகளையும், உவமைகளையும், ஞானிகளின் வார்த்தைகளையும், புதிர்களையும் விளங்கிக்கொள்ளட்டும்.
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and [there is] good understanding to all that practise it: and piety towards God is the beginning of discernment; but the ungodly will set at nothing wisdom and instruction.
யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயப்படுதலே ஞானத்தின் ஆரம்பம்; ஆனால் மூடர்கள் ஞானத்தையும் அறிவுரையையும் புறக்கணிக்கிறார்கள்.
8 Hear, [my] son, the instruction of your father, and reject not the rules of your mother.
என் மகனே, உன் தகப்பனின் அறிவுரைகளைக் கேள்; உன் தாயின் போதனைகளை விட்டுவிடாதே.
9 For you shall receive for your head a crown of graces, and a chain of gold round your neck.
அவை உன் தலையைச் சிறப்பிக்கும் மகுடமாகவும், உன் கழுத்தை அலங்கரிக்கும் பொன் மாலையாகவும் இருக்கும்.
10 [My] son, let not ungodly men lead you astray, neither consent you [to them].
என் மகனே, பாவிகள் உன்னைக் கவர்ச்சியூட்டி இழுக்க முயன்றால், அவர்களுடன் இழுப்புண்டு போகாதே.
11 If they should exhort you, saying, Come with us, partake in blood, and let us unjustly hide the just man in the earth:
அவர்கள் உன்னிடம், “நீ எங்களோடுகூட வா; குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தும்படி பதுங்கிக் காத்திருப்போம், அப்பாவியான மனிதரை வழிமறித்துப் பறிப்போம்;
12 and let us swallow him alive, as Hades [would], and remove the memorial of him from the earth: (Sheol h7585)
பாதாளம் விழுங்குவதுபோல் அவர்களை உயிருடன் விழுங்குவோம், மரணக் குழிக்குள் போகிறவர்களைப்போல் முழுமையாய் விழுங்குவோம்; (Sheol h7585)
13 let us seize on his valuable property, and let us fill our houses with spoils:
பலவித விலைமதிப்புள்ள பொருட்களையும் எடுத்து, நமது வீடுகளைக் கொள்ளைப் பொருட்களால் நிரப்புவோம்;
14 but do you cast in your lot with us, and let us all provide a common purse, and let us have one pouch:
எங்களுடன் பங்காளியாயிரு; நாம் கொள்ளையிட்டதைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வோம்” என்று சொல்லுவார்களானால்,
15 go not in the way with them, but turn aside your foot from their paths:
என் மகனே, நீ அவர்களோடுகூடப் போகாதே; அவர்களுடைய வழிகளில் காலடி வைக்காதே.
16 [For their feet run to do evil, and are swift to shed blood. ]
ஏனெனில் அவர்களுடைய கால்கள் தீமைசெய்ய விரைகின்றன, இரத்தஞ்சிந்த வேகமாய் செல்கின்றன.
17 for nets are not without cause spread for birds.
பறவைகள் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அவற்றைப் பிடிக்க வலை விரிப்பது பயனற்றதல்லவா.
18 For they that are concerned in murder store up evils for themselves; and the overthrow of transgressors is evil.
ஆனாலும் இந்த மனிதர்கள், தங்கள் சொந்த இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்துவதற்கே காத்திருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்களுக்காகவே பதுங்கியிருக்கிறார்களே,
19 These are the ways of all that perform lawless deeds; for by ungodliness they destroy their own life.
தகாத முறையில் சம்பாதிக்கத் தேடுகிற அனைவரின் முடிவும் இதுவே; அதின் பலன் அதைப் பெறுகிறவர்களின் உயிரை எடுத்துவிடும்.
20 Wisdom sings aloud in passages, and in the broad places speaks boldly.
ஞானம் வீதியிலே சத்தமிட்டு அழைக்கிறது, பொது இடங்களில் தனது குரலை எழுப்புகிறது;
21 And she makes proclamation on the top of the walls, and sits by the gates of princes; and at the gates of the city boldly says,
அது இரைச்சலுள்ள வீதிகளின் சந்தியில் சத்தமிடுகிறது, பட்டணத்தின் நுழைவாசல்களில் நின்று உரையாற்றுகிறது.
22 So long as the simple cleave to justice, they shall not be ashamed: but the foolish being lovers of haughtiness, having become ungodly have hated knowledge, and are become subject to reproofs.
“அறிவற்றவர்களே, எவ்வளவு காலம் அறியாமையின் வழிகளை விரும்புவீர்கள்? ஏளனம் செய்பவர்களே, எவ்வளவு காலம் ஏளனத்தில் மகிழ்ந்திருப்பீர்கள்? மூடர்களே, எவ்வளவு காலத்திற்கு நீங்கள் அறிவை வெறுப்பீர்கள்?
23 Behold, I will bring forth to you the utterance of my breath, and I will instruct you in my speech.
நீங்கள் எனது கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்! என் சிந்தனைகளை உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துவேன், என் வார்த்தைகளை உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துவேன்.
24 Since I called, and you did not listen; and I spoke at length, and you gave no heed;
ஆனால், நான் கூப்பிட்டபோது நீங்கள் என்னைப் புறக்கணித்து, எனது கையை நீட்டியபோது ஒருவரும் அதைக் கவனிக்காதபடியினாலும்,
25 but you set at nothing my counsels, and disregarded my reproofs;
நீங்கள் என் புத்திமதிகளையெல்லாம் தள்ளிவிட்டு, எனது கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாதபடியினாலும்
26 therefore I also will laugh at your destruction; and I will rejoice against [you] when ruin comes upon you:
உங்களுக்குப் பேராபத்து வரும்போது நான் சிரிப்பேன், பேரழிவு உங்களை மேற்கொள்கையில் ஏளனம் செய்வேன்;
27 yes when dismay suddenly comes upon you, and [your] overthrow shall arrive like a tempest; and when tribulation and distress shall come upon you, or when ruin shall come upon you.
பேரழிவு உங்கள்மேல் புயலைப்போல் வரும்போதும், பேராபத்து சுழற்காற்றைப் போல் உங்களை அடித்துச் செல்லும்போதும், துன்பமும் தொல்லையும் உங்களைத் திணறடிக்கும்போதும் நான் உங்களை ஏளனம் செய்வேன்.
28 For it shall be that when you call upon me, I will not listen to you: wicked men shall seek me, but shall not find [me].
“அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவார்கள், நான் பதில் கொடுக்கமாட்டேன்; அவர்கள் என்னைத் தேடுவார்கள், ஆனால் என்னைக் கண்டடையமாட்டார்கள்.
29 For they hated wisdom, and did not choose the word of the Lord:
ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் அறிவை வெறுத்து, யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்து நடப்பதைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் போனார்கள்.
30 neither would they attend to my counsels, but derided my reproofs.
அவர்கள் என் புத்திமதிகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாமல், எனது கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை புறக்கணித்தபடியால்,
31 Therefore shall they eat the fruits of their own way, and shall be filled with their own ungodliness.
அவர்கள் தங்கள் நடத்தையின் பலனை அனுபவிப்பார்கள், அவர்களுடைய சதித்திட்டங்களின் பலனால் நிரப்பப்படுவார்கள்.
32 For because they wronged the simple, they shall be slain; and an inquisition shall ruin the ungodly.
அறிவீனர்களின் அசட்டுத்தனம் அவர்களைக் கொல்லும், மூடர்களின் மனநிறைவு அவர்களை அழிக்கும்;
33 But he that hearkens to me shall dwell in confidence, and shall rest securely from all evil.
ஆனால் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பவர் யாரும் பாதுகாப்பாக வாழ்வார்கள், அவர்கள் தீமைக்குப் பயப்படாமல் அமைதியாயிருப்பார்கள்.”
