Numbers 1

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sina, in the tabernacle of witness, on the first day of the second month, in the second year of their departure from the land of Egypt, saying,

Gospod je govoril Mojzesu v Sinajski divjini, v šotorskem svetišču skupnosti, na prvi dan drugega meseca, v drugem letu, potem ko so prišli iz egiptovske dežele, rekoč:

2 Take the sum of all the congregation of Israel according to their kindred, according to the houses of their fathers' families, according to their number by their names, according to their heads: every male

»Popišite glave vse skupnosti Izraelovih otrok, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, s številom njihovih imen, vsakega moškega po njihovih glavah,

3 from twenty years old and upwards, every one that goes forth in the forces of Israel, take account of them with their strength; you and Aaron take account of them.

od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so zmožni iti na vojsko v Izraelu. Ti in Aron jih preštejta po njihovih vojskah.

4 And with you there shall be each one of the rulers according to the tribe of each: they shall be according to the houses of their families.

In s teboj bo tam mož iz vsakega rodu; vsak poglavar svoje očetovske hiše.

5 And these are the names of the men who shall be present with you; of the tribe of Ruben, Elisur the son of Sediur.

To so imena mož, ki bodo stali z vami. Iz Rubenovega rodu: Elicúr, Šedeúrjev sin.

6 Of Symeon, Salamiel the son of Surisadai.

Iz Simeona: Šelumiél, Curišadájev sin.

7 Of Juda, Naasson the son of Aminadab.

Iz Juda: Nahšón, Aminadábov sin.

8 Of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Sogar.

Iz Isahárja: Netanél, Cuárjev sin.

9 Of Zabulon, Eliab the son of Chaelon.

Iz Zábulona: Eliáb, Helónov sin.

10 Of the sons of Joseph, of Ephraim, Elisama the son of Emiud: of Manasses, Gamaliel the son of Phadasur.

Izmed Jožefovih otrok: iz Efrájima Elišamá, Amihúdov sin; iz Manáseja Gamliél, Pedacúrjev sin;

11 Of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gadeoni.

iz Benjamina Abidán, Gideoníjev sin;

12 Of Dan, Achiezer the son of Amisadai.

iz Dana Ahiézer, Amišadájev sin;

13 Of Aser, Phagaiel the son of Echran.

iz Aserja Pagiél, Ohránov sin;

14 Of Gad, Elisaph the son of Raguel.

iz Gada Eljasáf, Deguélov sin;

15 Of Nephthali, Achire the son of Aenan.

iz Neftálija Ahirá, Enánov sin.«

16 These were famous men of the congregation, heads of the tribes according to their families: these are heads of thousands in Israel.

Ti so bili ugledni izmed skupnosti, princi iz rodov svojih očetov, glave tisočim v Izraelu.

17 And Moses and Aaron took these men who were called by name.

Mojzes in Aron sta vzela te može, ki so bili določeni po njihovih imenih.

18 And they assembled all the congregation on the first day of the month in the second year; and they registered them after their lineage, after their families, after the number of their names, from twenty years old and upwards, every male according to their number:

Na prvi dan drugega meseca so zbrali vso skupnost in razglasili njihovo poreklo po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, po njihovih glavah.

19 as the Lord commanded Moses, so they were numbered in the wilderness of Sina.

Kakor je Gospod zapovedal Mojzesu, tako jih je preštel v Sinajski divjini.

20 And the sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their heads, were—all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that went out with the host—

Otroke Rubena, Izraelovega najstarejšega sina, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, po njihovih glavah, vsakega moškega od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

21 the numbering of them of the tribe of Ruben, was forty-six thousand and four hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Rubenovega rodu, je bilo šestinštirideset tisoč petsto.

22 For the children of Symeon according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes out with the host,

Od Simeonovih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, glede na število imen, po njihovih glavah, vsak moški od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

23 the numbering of them of the tribe of Symeon, was fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Simeonovega rodu, je bilo devetinpetdeset tisoč tristo.

24 For the sons of Juda according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes forth with the host,

Od Gadovih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

25 the numbering of them of the tribe of Juda, was seventy-four thousand and six hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Gadovega rodu, je bilo petinštirideset tisoč šeststo petdeset.

26 For the sons of Issachar according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes forth with the host,

Od Judovih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

27 the numbering of them of the tribe of Issachar, was fifty-four thousand and four hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Judovega rodu, je bilo štiriinsedemdeset tisoč šeststo.

28 For the sons of Zabulon according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes out with the host,

Od Isahárjevih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

29 the numbering of them of the tribe of Zabulon, was fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Isahárjevega rodu, je bilo štiriinpetdeset tisoč štiristo.

30 For the sons of Joseph, the sons of Ephraim, according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes out with the host,

Od Zábulonovih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

31 the numbering of them of the tribe of Ephraim, was forty thousand and five hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Zábulonovega rodu, je bilo sedeminpetdeset tisoč štiristo.

32 For the sons of Manasse according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes out with the host,

Od Jožefovih otrok, namreč od Efrájimovih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

33 the numbering of them of the tribe of Manasse, was thirty-two thousand and two hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Efrájimovega rodu, je bilo štirideset tisoč petsto.

34 For the sons of Benjamin according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes forth with the host,

Od Manásejevih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

35 the numbering of them of the tribe of Benjamin, was thirty-five thousand and four hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Manásejevega rodu, je bilo dvaintrideset tisoč dvesto.

36 For the sons of Gad according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes forth with the host,

Od Benjaminovih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

37 the numbering of them of the tribe of Gad, was forty and five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Benjaminovega rodu, je bilo petintrideset tisoč štiristo.

38 For the sons of Dan according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes forth with the host,

Od Danovih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

39 the numbering of them of the tribe of Dan, was sixty and two thousand and seven hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Danovega rodu, je bilo dvainšestdeset tisoč sedemsto.

40 For the sons of Aser according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes forth with the host,

Od Aserjevih otrok, po njihovih rodovih, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

41 the numbering of them of the tribe of Aser, was forty and one thousand and five hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Aserjevega rodu je bilo enainštirideset tisoč petsto.

42 For the sons of Nephthali according to their kindred, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, every one who goes forth with the host,

Od Neftálijevih otrok, skozi njihove rodove, po njihovih družinah, po hiši njihovih očetov, glede na število imen, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vse, ki so bili zmožni iti na vojsko;

43 the numbering of them of the tribe of Nephthali, was fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

tistih, ki so bili izmed njih prešteti, torej iz Neftálijevega rodu, je bilo triinpetdeset tisoč štiristo.

44 This is the numbering which Moses and Aaron and the rulers of Israel, being twelve men, conducted: there was a man for each tribe, they were according to the tribe of the houses of their family.

To so tisti, ki so bili prešteti, ki so jih Mojzes, Aron in Izraelovi princi prešteli, ki jih je bilo dvanajst mož. Vsak je bil za hišo svojih očetov.

45 And the whole numbering of the children of Israel with their host from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes out to set himself in battle array in Israel, came to

Tako je bilo vseh teh, ki so bili prešteti izmed Izraelovih otrok, po hiši njihovih očetov, od dvajsetih let starosti in naprej, vseh, ki so bili v Izraelu zmožni iti na vojsko;

46 six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

torej vseh, ki so bili prešteti, je bilo šeststo tisoč in tri tisoč petsto petdeset.

47 But the Levites of the tribe of their family were not counted amongst the children of Israel.

Toda Lévijevci, po rodu njihovih očetov, niso bili šteti mednje.

48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Kajti Gospod je spregovoril Mojzesu, rekoč:

49 See, you shall not muster the tribe of Levi, and you shall not take their numbers, in the midst of the children of Israel.

»Samo rodu Lévijevcev ne boš preštel niti ne popiši njihovih glav izmed Izraelovih otrok,

50 And do you set the Levites over the tabernacle of witness, and over all its furniture, and over all things that are in it; and they shall do service in it, and they shall encamp round about the tabernacle.

temveč boš Lévijevce določil nad šotorskim svetiščem pričevanja in nad vsemi njegovimi posodami in nad vsemi stvarmi, ki temu pripadajo. Nosili bodo šotorsko svetišče in vse njegove posode in mu bodo služili in se utaborili okoli šotorskega svetišča.

51 And in removing the tabernacle, the Levites shall take it down, and in pitching the tabernacle they shall set it up: and let the stranger that advances [to touch it] die.

Ko se šotorsko svetišče odpravi naprej, ga bodo Lévijevci razdrli, in ko naj bi bilo šotorsko svetišče postavljeno, ga bodo Lévijevci postavili. Tujec, ki se približa, pa bo usmrčen.

52 And the children of Israel shall encamp, every man in his own order, and every man according to his company, with their host.

Izraelovi otroci bodo postavili svoje šotore, vsak mož pri svojem lastnem taboru in vsak mož pri svojem lastnem praporu, po svojih vojskah.

53 But let the Levites encamp round about the tabernacle of witness fronting it, and [so] there shall be no sin amongst the children of Israel; and the Levites themselves shall keep the guard of the tabernacle of witness.

Toda Lévijevci bodo taborili naokoli šotorskega svetišča pričevanja, da ne bo besa nad skupnostjo Izraelovih otrok in Lévijevci bodo zadolženi za šotorsko svetišče pričevanja.«

54 And the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

Izraelovi otroci so storili glede na vse, kar je Gospod zapovedal Mojzesu, tako so storili.
