Numbers 26

1 And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

Utatha mliri Yehova anati kwa Mose ndi Eliezara mwana wa Aaroni,

2 Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, every one that goes forth to battle in Israel.

“Werengani Aisraeli onse mwa mabanja awo, onse a zaka makumi awiri kapena kuposera pamenepo omwe angathe kugwira ntchito ya usilikali mʼgulu lankhondo la Israeli.”

3 And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

Kotero mu zigwa za Mowabu pafupi ndi mtsinje wa Yorodani ku Yeriko, Mose ndi wansembe Eliezara anayankhula nawo kuti,

4 [This is the numbering] from twenty years old and upward as the Lord commanded Moses. And the sons of Israel that came out of Egypt [are as follows]:

“Werengani amuna a zaka makumi awiri kapena kuposera pamenepo, monga momwe Yehova walamulira Mose.” Aisraeli omwe anachokera ku Igupto ndi awa:

5 Ruben [was] the firstborn of Israel: and the sons of Ruben, Enoch, and the family of Enoch; to Phallu belongs the family of the Phalluites.

Zidzukulu za Rubeni, mwana woyamba wamwamuna wa Israeli, zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Hanoki, fuko la Ahanoki; kuchokera mwa Palu, fuko la Apalu;

6 To Asron, the family of Asroni: to Charmi, the family of Charmi.

kuchokera mwa Hezironi, fuko la Ahezironi; kuchokera mwa Karimi, fuko la Akarimi.

7 These [are] the families of Ruben; and their numbering was forty-three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

Awa anali mafuko a Rubeni: onse amene anawerengedwa analipo 43,730.

8 And the sons of Phallu [were] Eliab, —

Mwana wa Palu anali Eliabu,

9 and the sons of Eliab, Namuel, and Dathan, and Abiron: these [are] renowned men of the congregation; these are they that rose up against Moses and Aaron in the gathering of Core, in the rebellion against the Lord.

10 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up them and Core, when their assembly perished, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty, and they were made a sign.

Nthaka inangʼambika ndi kuwameza pamodzi ndi Kora, kotero kuti gulu lawo linafa pamene moto unapsereza anthu 250 aja, nasanduka chenjezo.

11 But the sons of Core died not.

Koma ana a Kora sanafe nawo.

12 And the sons of Symeon: —the family of the sons of Symeon: to Namuel, [belonged] the family of the Namuelites; to Jamin the family of the Jaminites; to Jachin the family of the Jachinites.

Zidzukulu za Simeoni mwa mafuko awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Nemueli, fuko la Anemuele; kuchokera mwa Yamini, fuko la Ayamini; kuchokera mwa Yakini fuko la Ayakini;

13 To Zara the family of the Zaraites; to Saul the family of the Saulites.

kuchokera mwa Zera, mbumba ya Zera; kuchokera mwa Sauli, fuko la Asauli.

14 These [are] the families of Symeon according to their numbering, two and twenty thousand and two hundred.

Awa anali mafuko a Simeoni. Iwowa analipo amuna 22,200.

15 And the sons of Juda, Er and Aunan; and Er and Aunan died in the land of Chanaan.

Zidzukulu za Gadi mwa mafuko awo ndi izi: kuchokera mwa Zefoni, fuko la Azefoni; kuchokera mwa Hagi, fuko la Ahagi; kuchokera mwa Suni, fuko la Asuni;

16 And these were the sons of Juda, according to their families: to Selom [belonged] the family of the Selonites; to Phares, the family of the Pharesites; to Zara, the family of the Zaraites.

kuchokera mwa Ozini, fuko la Aozini; kuchokera mwa Eri, fuko la Aeri;

17 And the sons of Phares were, to Asron, the family of the Asronites; to Jamun, the family of the Jamunites.

18 These [are] the families of Juda according to their numbering, seventy-six thousand and five hundred.

19 And the sons of Issachar according to their families: to Thola, the family of the Tholaites; to Phua, the family of the Phuaites.

Eri ndi Onani anali ana aamuna a Yuda, koma anafera mu Kanaani.

20 To Jasub, the family of the Jasubites; to Samram, the family of the Samramites.

Zidzukulu za Yuda monga mwa mafuko awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Sela, fuko la Asera; kuchokera mwa Perezi, fuko la Aperezi; kuchokera mwa Zera, mbumba ya Zera.

21 These [are] the families of Issachar according to their numbering, sixty-four thousand and four hundred.

Zidzukulu za Perezi zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Hezironi, fuko la Ahezironi; kuchokera mwa Hamuli, fuko la Ahamuli.

22 The sons of Zabulon according to their families: to Sared, the family of the Saredites; to Allon, the family of the Allonites; to Allel, the family of the Allelites.

Awa ndiwo anali mafuko a Yuda. Amene anawerenga analipo 76,500.

23 These [are] the families of Zabulon according to their numbering, sixty thousand and five hundred.

Zidzukulu za Isakara monga mwa mafuko awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Tola, fuko la Atola; kuchokera mwa Puwa, fuko la Apuwa;

24 The sons of Gad according to their families: to Saphon, the family of the Saphonites; to Angi, the family of the Angites; to Suni, the family of the Sunites;

kuchokera mwa Yasubu, fuko la Ayasubu. Kuchokera mwa Simironi, fuko la Asimironi.

25 to Azeni, the family of the Azenites; to Addi, the family of the Addites:

Awa ndi amene anali a fuko la Isakara. Amene anawerengedwa analipo 64,300.

26 to Aroadi, the family of the Aroadites; to Ariel, the family of the Arielites.

Zidzukulu za Zebuloni mwa mafuko awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Seredi, fuko la Aseredi; kuchokera mwa Eloni, fuko la Aeloni; kuchokera mwa Yahaleeli, fuko la Ayahaleeli.

27 These [are] the families of the children of Gad according to their numbering, forty-four thousand and five hundred.

Awa ndiwo anali mafuko a Zebuloni. Amene anawerengedwa analipo 60,500.

28 The sons of Aser according to their families; to Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; to Jesu, the family of the Jesusites; to Baria, the family of the Bariaites.

Zidzukulu za Yosefe mwa mafuko awo kupyolera mwa Manase ndi Efereimu zinali izi:

29 To Chober, the family of the Choberites; to Melchiel, the family of the Melchielites.

Zidzukulu za Manase: kuchokera mwa Makiri, fuko la Amakiri (Makiri anali abambo ake a Giliyadi); kuchokera mwa Giliyadi, fuko la Agiliyadi.

30 And the name of the daughter of Aser, Sara.

Izi ndizo zinali zidzukulu za Giliyadi; kuchokera mwa Iyezeri, fuko la Aiyezeri; kuchokera mwa Heleki, fuko la Aheleki;

31 These [are] the families of Aser according to their numbering, forty-three thousand and four hundred.

kuchokera mwa Asirieli, fuko la Aasirieli; kuchokera mwa Sekemu, fuko la Asekemu;

32 The sons of Joseph according to their families, Manasse and Ephraim.

kuchokera mwa Semida, fuko la Asemida; kuchokera mwa Heferi, fuko la Aheferi.

33 The sons of Manasse. To Machir the family of the Machirites; and Machir begot Galaad: to Galaad, the family of the Galaadites.

(Zelofehadi mwana wa Heferi analibe ana aamuna koma ana aakazi okha, amene mayina awo anali: Mala, Nowa, Hogila, Milika ndi Tiriza.)

34 And these [are] the sons of Galaad; to Achiezer, the family of the Achiezerites; to Cheleg, the family of the Chelegites.

Awa ndiwo anali mafuko a Manase. Amene anawerengedwa analipo 52,700.

35 To Esriel, the family of the Esrielites; to Sychem, the family of the Sychemites.

Zidzukulu za Efereimu monga mwa mafuko awo zinali izi; kuchokera mwa Sutela, fuko la Asutela; kuchokera mwa Bekeri, fuko la Abekeri; kuchokera mwa Tahani, fuko la Atahani.

36 To Symaer, the family of the Symaerites; and to Opher, the family of the Opherites.

Zidzukulu za Sutela zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Erani, fuko la Aerani.

37 And to Salpaad the son of Opher there were no sons, but daughters: and these [were] the names of the daughters of Salpaad; Mala, and Nua, and Egla, and Melcha, and Thersa.

Awa ndiwo anali mafuko a Efereimu. Amene anawerengedwa analipo 32,500. Zimenezi zinali zidzukulu za Yosefe monga mwa mafuko awo.

38 These [are] the families of Manasse according to their numbering, fifty-two thousand and seven hundred.

Zidzukulu za Benjamini monga mwa mabanja awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Bela, fuko la Abela; kuchokera mwa Asibeli, fuko la Aasibeli; kuchokera mwa Ahiramu, fuko la Ahiramu;

39 And these [are] the children of Ephraim; to Suthala, the family of the Suthalanites; to Tanach, the family of the Tanachites.

kuchokera mwa Sufamu, fuko la Asufamu; kuchokera mwa Hufamu, fuko la Ahufamu;

40 These [are] the sons of Suthala; to Eden, the family of the Edenites.

Zidzukulu za Bela kupyolera mwa Aridi ndi Naamani zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Aridi, fuko la Aaridi; kuchokera mwa Naamani, fuko la Anaamani;

41 These [are] the families of Ephraim according to their numbering, thirty-two thousand and five hundred: these [are] the families of the children of Joseph according to their families.

Awa ndiwo anali mabanja a Benjamini. Amene nawerengedwa analipo 45,600.

42 The sons of Benjamin according to their families; to Bale, the family of the Balites; to Asyber, the family of the Asyberites; to Jachiran, the family of the Jachiranites.

Zidzukulu za Dani mwa mabanja awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Suhamu fuko la Asuhamu. Izi zinali zidzukulu za Dani.

43 To Sophan, the family of the Sophanites.

Onse a fuko la Asuhamu amene anawerengedwa analipo 64,400.

44 And the sons of Bale were Adar and Noeman; to Adar, the family of the Adarites; and to Noeman, the family of the Noemanites.

Zidzukulu za Aseri monga mwa mafuko awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Imina, fuko la Aimuna; kuchokera mwa Isivi, fuko la Ayisivi; kuchokera mwa Beriya, fuko la Aberiya;

45 These [are] the sons of Benjamin by their families according to their numbering, thirty-five thousand and five hundred.

ndipo kupyolera mwa zidzukulu za Beriya: kuchokera mwa Heberi, fuko la Aheberi; kuchokera mwa Malikieli, fuko la Amalikieli;

46 And the sons of Dan according to their families; to Same, the family of the Sameites; these [are] the families of Dan according to their families.

47 All the families of Samei according to their numbering, sixty-four thousand and four hundred.

48 The sons of Nephthali according to their families; to Asiel, the family of the Asielites; to Gauni, the family of the Gaunites.

Zidzukulu za Nafutali mwa mafuko awo zinali izi: kuchokera mwa Yahazeeli, fuko la Ayahazeeli; kuchokera mwa Guni, fuko la Aguni;

49 To Jeser, the family of the Jeserites; to Sellem, the family of the Sellemites.

kuchokera mwa Yezeri, fuko la Ayezeri; kuchokera mwa Silemu, fuko la Asilemu.

50 These [are] the families of Nephthali, according to their numbering, forty thousand and three hundred.

Awa ndiwo anali mafuko a Nafutali. Onse amene anawerengedwa analipo 45,400.

51 This [is] the numbering of the children of Israel, six hundred and one thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

Chiwerengero chonse cha amuna mu Israeli chinalipo 601,730.

52 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Yehova anawuza Mose kuti,

53 To these the land shall be divided, so that they may inherit according to the number of the names.

“Uwagawire dziko anthu awa kuti likhale cholowa chawo molingana ndi chiwerengero cha mayina awo.

54 To the greater number you shall give the greater inheritance, and to the less number you shall give the less inheritance: to each one, as they have been numbered, shall their inheritance be given.

Gulu lalikulu ulipatse cholowa chachikulu, ndipo lochepa cholowa chocheperapo. Gulu lililonse lilandire cholowa chake molingana ndi chiwerengero cha amene anawerengedwa.

55 The land shall be divided to the names by lot, they shall inherit according to the tribes of their families.

Dzikolo uligawe pochita maere. Alandire cholowa chawocho potsata mayina a mafuko a makolo awo.

56 You shall divide their inheritance by lot between the many and the few.

Cholowa chawo uchigawe pakati pa fuko lalikulu ndi lalingʼono mwa maere.”

57 And the sons of Levi according to their families; to Gedson, the family of the Gedsonites; to Caath, the family of the Caathites; to Merari, the family of the Merarites.

Alevi omwe anawerengedwa monga mwa mafuko awo ndi awa: kuchokera mwa Geresoni, fuko la Ageresoni; kuchokera mwa Kohati, fuko la Akohati; kuchokera mwa Merari, fuko la Amerari.

58 These [are] the families of the sons of Levi; the family of the Lobenites, the family of the Chebronites, the family of the Coreites, and the family of the Musites; and Caath begot Amram.

Awanso anali mabanja a Alevi: banja la Alibini, banja la Ahebroni, banja la Amali, banja la Amusi, fuko la Kora banja la Akohati, (Kohati anali abambo a Amramu.

59 And the name of his wife [was] Jochabed, daughter of Levi, who bore these to Levi in Egypt, and she bore to Amram, Aaron and Moses, and Mariam their sister.

Dzina la mkazi wa Amramu linali Yokobedi, mdzukulu wa Levi, yemwe anabadwa mwa Alevi mu Igupto. Yokobedi anaberekera Amramu Aaroni, Mose ndi Miriamu mlongo wawo.

60 And to Aaron were born both Nadab and Abiud, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Aaroni anali abambo a Nadabu, Abihu, Eliezara ndi Itamara.

61 And Nadab and Abiud died when they offered strange fire before the Lord in the wilderness of Sina.

Koma Nadabu ndi Abihu anafa pamene anapereka nsembe pamaso pa Yehova ndi moto wachilendo).

62 And there were according to their numbering, twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered amongst the children of Israel, because they have no inheritance in the midst of the children of Israel.

Alevi onse aamuna a mwezi umodzi kapena kuposera pamenepa analipo 23,000. Iwowo sanawerengedwe pamodzi ndi Aisraeli ena chifukwa sanalandire cholowa pakati pawo.

63 And this [is] the numbering of Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in Araboth of Moab, at Jordan by Jericho.

Awa ndi amene anawerengedwa ndi Mose ndi Eliezara wansembe pamene ankawerenga Aisraeli pa zigwa za ku Mowabu mʼmbali mwa Yorodani ku Yeriko.

64 And amongst these there was not a man numbered by Moses and Aaron, whom, [even] the children of Israel, they numbered in the wilderness of Sinai.

Mwa anthu amenewa panalibe ndi mmodzi yemwe amene anali mʼgulu la Aisraeli omwe Mose ndi wansembe Aaroni anawawerenga mʼchipululu cha Sinai;

65 For the Lord said to them, They shall surely die in the wilderness; and there was not left even one of them, except Chaleb the son of Jephonne, and Joshua the [son] of Naue.

Chifukwa Yehova anali atawuza Aisraeliwo kuti adzafera ndithu mʼchipululu, ndipo palibe ndi mmodzi yemwe amene anatsala kupatula Kalebe mwana wa Yefune ndi Yoswa mwana wa Nuni.
