< Naum 2 >
1 It is all over with him, he has been removed, [one] who has been delivered from affliction has come up panting into your presence, watch the way, strengthen [your] loins, be very valiant in [your] strength.
Ang amrosak kami na hma ah angzoh boeh: misa pakaahaih ahmuen to kahoih ah toep ah, loklam to kahoih ah khen ah, na kaengkaeh to caksak ah loe, na thacakhaih to pathok boih ah.
2 For the Lord has turned aside the pride of Jacob, as the pride of Israel: for they have utterly rejected them, and have destroyed their branches.
Angraeng mah Jakob lensawkhaih to Israel lensawkhaih baktiah omsak let tih: paro kaminawk mah nihcae to tidoeh anghmat ai ah paro o, nihcae ih misur tanghangnawk to atlik pae o.
3 [They have destroyed] the arms of their power from amongst men, their mighty men sporting with fire: the reins of their chariots [shall be destroyed] in the day of his preparation, and the horsemen shall be thrown into confusion
Anih ih thacak misanawk loe kathim misa angvaenghaih to sinh o, misahoih kaminawk loe kathim khukbuen to angkhuk o: misatuk han amsak na niah, hrang lakoknawk loe kangqong hmai baktiah oh, far thing hoi sak ih tayaenawk loe zitthoh parai.
4 in the ways, and the chariots shall clash together, and shall be entangled in each other in the broad ways: their appearance is as lamps of fire, and as gleaming lightnings.
Nihcae ih hrang lakoknawk loe atuen apawk hoiah loklam ah, lampui maeto pacoeng maeto cawnh o; nihcae loe hmaithaw baktiah oh o moe, tangphrapuek baktiah cawnh o.
5 And their mighty men shall bethink themselves and flee by day; and they shall be weak as they go; and they shall hasten to her walls, and shall prepare their defences.
Anih loe kahoih misatuh angraeng to a tawnh, toe nihcae loe loklam ah amtim o boih tih; to ah kaom tapang bangah karangah cawnh o ueloe, misa buephaih to sah o tih.
6 The gates of the cities have been opened, and the palaces have fallen into ruin,
Tuipui khongkhanawk to paong o tih, to naah siangpahrang ohhaih ahmuen to anghma tih.
7 and the foundation has been exposed; and she has gone up, and her maidservants were led [away] as doves moaning in their hearts.
Huzzab to misong ah naeh o ueloe, caeh o haih tih; tamna nongpatanawk loe angmacae ih saoek atumh hoiah caeh o ueloe, anih to pahu baktiah oi o haih tih.
8 And [as for] Nineve, her waters [shall be] as a pool of water: and they fled, and staid not, and there was none to look back.
Nineveh loe canghnii ih kangbuem tuili baktiah ni oh, toe tui amsah pae king boeh. Anghak rae ah, anghak rae ah, tiah a hangh o, toe mi doeh hnukbang angqoi o ai.
9 They plundered the silver, they plundered the gold, and there was no end of their adorning; they were loaded [with it] upon all their pleasant vessels.
Sum kanglung to la oh, suinawk doeh la oh; patung ih hmuenmaenawk hoi khit kaom tacongnawk loe boeng thaih mak ai, tiah a hangh o.
10 [There is] thrusting forth, and shaking, and tumult, and heart-breaking, and loosing of knees, and pangs on all loins; and the faces of all [are] as the blackening of a pot.
Nineveh loe amro boeh, tidoeh om ai, caeh o taak sut boeh; kaminawk poekhaih palungthin loe tui baktiah amkaw boeh, khokhunawk doeh thazok boeh; kaeng to nat pae moe, mikhmai doeh amnum pae boih boeh.
11 Where is the dwelling-place of the lions, and the pasture that belonged to the whelps? where did the lion go, that the lion's whelp should enter in there, and there was none to scare [him] away?
Kaipui ohhaih ahmuen, a caanawk pacahhaih ahmuen loe naa ah maw oh, zithaih kaom ai ah nihcae amkaehhaih ahmuen, kaipui ampa hoi amno amkaehhaih ahmuen loe naa ah maw oh boeh?
12 The lion seized enough prey for his whelps, and strangled for his [young] lions, and filled his lair with prey, and his dwelling-place with spoil.
Kaipui mah a caanawk hanah moi to sinh pae, kaipui amno kanawk hanah moi to kaek pae, a ohhaih akhaw loe a kaek ih moi hoiah koi, thlungkhaw to moi hoiah koisak.
13 Behold, I am against you, says the Lord Almighty, and I will burn up your multitude in the smoke, and the sword shall devour your lions; and I will utterly destroy your prey from off the land, and your deeds shall no more at all be heard of.
Khenah, nang to misa ah kang suek, nang ih hrang lakoknawk to hmai hoiah ka thlaek han, sumsen mah kaipui caanawk to paduek tih; long nuiah caak han ih moi tawn ai ah kang suek han, na laicaehnawk ih lok to mi mah doeh thaih let mak ai boeh.
