Michaeas 1
1 And the word of the Lord came to Michaeas the son of Morasthi, in the days of Joatham, and Achaz, and Ezekias, kings of Juda, concerning what he saw regarding Samaria and Jerusalem.
Parole de Yahweh qui fut adressée à Michée de Moréseth, dans les jours de Joathan, d’Achaz et d’Ezéchias, rois de Juda, dont il eut la vision touchant Samarie et Jérusalem.
2 Hear [these] words, you people; and let the earth give heed, and all that are in it: and the Lord God shall be amongst you for a testimony, the Lord out of his holy habitation.
Ecoutez, vous tous, peuples! Sois attentive, terre, avec ce qui te remplit! Le Seigneur Yahweh va témoigner contre vous, le Seigneur, du palais de sa sainteté!
3 For, behold, the Lord comes forth out of his place, and will come down, and will go upon the high places of the earth.
Car voici que Yahweh va sortir de sa demeure; il descendra, il marchera sur les hauteurs de la terre.
4 And the mountains shall be shaken under him, and the valleys shall melt like wax before the fire, and as water rushing down a declivity.
Les montagnes se fondront sous ses pas, les vallées se fendront, comme la cire devant le feu, comme l’eau versée sur une pente.
5 All these [calamities are] for the transgression of Jacob, and for the sin of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? [is it] not Samaria? and what is the sin of the house of Juda? [is it] not Jerusalem?
Tout cela, à cause du crime de Jacob, et à cause des péchés de la maison d’Israël. Quel est le crime de Jacob? n’est-ce pas Samarie? Et quels sont les hauts lieux de Juda? n’est-ce pas Jérusalem?
6 Therefore I will make Samaria [as] a store-house of the fruits of the field, and [as] a planting of a vineyard: and I will utterly demolish her stones, and I will expose her foundations.
Je ferai de Samarie un tas de pierres dans un champ, un lieu à planter la vigne; je ferai rouler ses pierres dans la vallée, et je mettrai à nu ses fondements.
7 And they shall cut in pieces all the graven images, and all that she has hired they shall burn with fire, and I will utterly destroy all her idols: because she has gathered of the hires of fornication, and of the hires of fornication has she amassed [wealth].
Toutes ses statues seront brisées; et tous ses salaires consumés par le feu; de toutes ses idoles je ferai une ruine, car elle les a amassées avec le salaire de la prostitution, et elles redeviendront un salaire de prostitution.
8 Therefore shall she lament and wail, she shall go barefooted, and [being] naked she shall make lamentation as [that] of serpents, and mourning as of the daughters of sirens.
A cause de cela, je me lamenterai et je hurlerai, je marcherai dépouillé et nu; je répandrai une lamentation comme le chacal, et une plainte comme l’autruche.
9 For her plague has become grievous; for it has come even to Juda; and has reached to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
Car sa plaie est mortelle; car elle vient jusqu’à Juda, elle arrive jusqu’à la porte de mon peuple, jusqu’à Jérusalem.
10 You that are in Geth, exalt not yourselves, and you Enakim, do not rebuild from [the ruins of] the house in derision: sprinkle dust [in the place of] your laughter.
Ne l’annoncez pas dans Geth; ne pleurez pas dans Acco! A Beth-Aphra je me roule dans la poussière.
11 The inhabitant of Sennaar, fairly inhabiting her cities, came not forth to mourn for the house next to her: she shall receive of you the stroke of grief.
Passe, habitante de Saphir, dans une honteuse nudité! L’habitante de Tsoanan n’est pas sortie; le deuil de Beth-Haetsel vous prive de son abri.
12 Who has begun [to act] for good to her that dwells in sorrow? for calamities have come down from the Lord upon the gates of Jerusalem,
L’habitante de Maroth est en détresse à cause de ses biens; car le malheur est descendu d’auprès de Yahweh, sur la porte de Jérusalem.
13 [even] a sound of chariots and horsemen: the inhabitants of Lachis, she is the leader of sin to the daughter of Sion: for in you were found the transgressions of Israel.
Attelle le char au coursier, habitante de Lachis; ce fut le commencement du péché pour la fille de Sion, qu’on ait trouvé chez toi les crimes d’Israël.
14 Therefore shall he cause men to be sent forth as far as the inheritance of Geth, [even] vain houses; they are become vanity to the kings of Israel;
C’est pourquoi tu renonceras à posséder Moréseth de Geth; les maisons d’Aczib seront une déception pour les rois d’Israël.
15 until they bring the heirs, O inhabitant of Lachis: the inheritance shall reach to Odollam, [even] the glory of the daughter of Israel.
Je t’amènerai un conquérant, habitante de Marésa; la noblesse d’Israël s’en ira jusqu’à Odollam.
16 Shave your hair, and make yourself bald for your delicate children; increase your widowhood as an eagle; for [your people] are gone into captivity from you.
Arrache tes cheveux, rase-les, à cause de tes enfants bien-aimés; fais-toi chauve comme le vautour, car ils s’en vont en captivité loin de toi!
