Leviticus 26

1 I [am] the Lord your God: you shall not make to yourselves gods made with hands, or graven; neither shall you rear up a pillar for yourselves, neither shall you set up a stone [for] an object in your land to worship it: I am the Lord your God.

I maa ikke gøre eder Afguder; udskaarne Billeder og Stenstøtter maa I ikke rejse eder, ej heller maa I opstille nogen Sten med Billedværk i eders Land for at tilbede den; thi jeg er HERREN eders Gud!

2 You shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuaries: I am the Lord.

Mine Sabbater skal I holde, og min Helligdom skal I frygte. Jeg er HERREN!

3 If you will walk in my ordinances, and keep my commandments, and do them,

Hvis I følger mine Anordninger og holder mine Bud og handler efter dem,

4 then will I give you the rain in its season, and the land shall produce its fruits, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

vil jeg give eder den Regn, I behøver, til sin Tid, Landet skal give sin Afgrøde, og Markens Træer skal give deres Frugt.

5 And your threshing time shall overtake the vintage, and your vintage shall overtake your seed time; and you shall eat your bread to the full; and you shall dwell safely upon your land, and war shall not go through your land.

Tærskning skal hos eder vare til Vinhøst, og Vinhøst skal vare til Saatid. I skal spise eder mætte i eders Brød og bo trygt i eders Land.

6 And I will give peace in your land, and you shall sleep, and none [shall] make you afraid; and I will destroy the evil beasts out of your land,

Jeg vil give Fred i Landet, saa I kan lægge eder til Hvile, uden at nogen skræmmer eder op; jeg vil udrydde de vilde Dyr af Landet, og intet Sværd skal hærge eders Land.

7 and you shall pursue your enemies, and they shall fall before you with slaughter.

I skal forfølge eders Fjender, og de skal falde for Sværdet foran eder.

8 And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase tens of thousands; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

Fem af eder skal forfølge hundrede, og hundrede af eder skal forfølge ti Tusinde, og eders, Fjender skal falde for Sværdet foran eder.

9 And I will look upon you, and increase you, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

Jeg vil vende mig til eder, jeg vil gøre eder frugtbare og mangfoldige, og jeg vil stadfæste min Pagt med eder.

10 And you shall eat that which is old and very old, and bring forth the old to make way for the new.

I skal spise gammelt Korn, til I for det nye Korns Skyld maa tømme Laderne for det gamle.

11 And I will set my tabernacle amongst you, and my soul shall not abhor you;

Jeg vil opslaa min Bolig midt iblandt eder, og min Sjæl skal ikke væmmes ved eder.

12 and I will walk amongst you, and be your God, and you shall be my people.

Jeg vil vandre iblandt eder og være eders Gud, og I skal være mit Folk.

13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, where you were slaves; and I broke the band of your yoke, and brought you forth openly.

Jeg er HERREN eders Gud, som førte eder ud af Ægypten, for at I ikke mere skulde være deres Trælle; jeg sønderbrød eders Aagstænger og lod eder vandre med rank Nakke.

14 But if you will not listen to me, nor obey these my ordinances,

Men hvis I ikke adlyder mig og handler efter alle disse Bud,

15 but disobey them, and your soul should loathe my judgements, so that you should not keep all my commands, so as to break my covenant,

hvis I lader haant om mine Anordninger og væmmes ved mine Lovbud, saa I ikke handler efter alle mine Bud, men bryder min Pagt,

16 then will I do thus to you: I will even bring upon you perplexity and the itch, and the fever that causes your eyes to waste away, and [disease] that consumes your life; and you shall sow your seeds in vain, and your enemies shall eat them.

saa vil ogsaa jeg gøre lige for lige imod eder og hjemsøge eder med skrækkelige Ulykker: Svindsot og Feberglød, saa Øjnene sløves og Sjælen vansmægter. Til ingen Nytte saar I eders Sæd, thi eders Fjender skal fortære den.

17 And I will set my face against you, and you shall fall before your enemies, and they that hate you shall pursue you; and you shall flee, no one pursuing you.

Jeg vender mit Aasyn imod eder, saa I bliver slaaet paa Flugt for eders Fjender; eders Avindsmænd skal underkue eder, og I skal flygte, selv om ingen forfølger eder.

18 And if you still refuse to listen to me, then will I chasten you yet more even seven times for your sins.

Og hvis I alligevel ikke adlyder mig, saa vil jeg tugte eder endnu mere, ja syvfold, for eders Synder.

19 And I will break down the haughtiness of your pride; and I will make your heaven iron, and your earth as it were brass.

Jeg vil bryde eders hovmodige Trods, jeg vil gøre eders Himmel som Jern og eders Jord som Kobber.

20 And your strength shall be in vain; and your land shall not yield its seed, and the tree of your field shall not yield its fruit.

Til ingen Nytte skal I slide eders Kræfter op, thi eders Jord skal ikke give sin Afgrøde, og Landets Træer skal ikke give deres Frugt.

21 And if after this you should walk perversely, and not be willing to obey me, I will further bring upon you seven plagues according to your sins.

Og hvis I alligevel handler genstridigt imod mig og ikke adlyder mig, saa vil jeg slaa eder endnu mere, ja syvfold, for eders Synder.

22 And I will send upon you the wild beasts of the land, and they shall devour you, and shall consume your cattle: and I will make you few in number, and your ways shall be desolate.

Jeg vil sende Markens vilde Dyr imod eder, for at de skal røve eders Børn fra eder, udrydde eders Kvæg og mindske eders Tal, saa eders Veje bliver øde.

23 And if hereupon you are not corrected, but walk perversely towards me,

Og hvis I alligevel ikke tager mod min Tugt, men handler genstridigt imod mig,

24 I also will walk with you with a perverse spirit, and I also will strike you seven times for your sins.

saa vil ogsaa jeg handle genstridigt imod eder og slaa eder syvfold for eders Synder.

25 And I will bring upon you a sword avenging the cause of [my] covenant, and you shall flee for refuge to your cities; and I will send out death against you, and you shall be delivered into the hands of your enemies.

Jeg vil bringe et Hævnens Sværd over eder til Hævn for den brudte Pagt; og søger I Tilflugt i eders Byer, vil jeg sende Pest iblandt eder, saa I maa overgive eder i Fjendens Haand.

26 When I afflict you with famine of bread, then ten women shall bake your loaves in one oven, and they shall render your loaves by weight; and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.

Naar jeg bryder Brødets Støttestav for eder, skal ti Kvinder bage eders Brød i een Bagerovn og give eder Brødet tilbage efter Vægt, saa I ikke han spise eder mætte.

27 And if hereupon you will not obey me, but walk perversely towards me,

Og hvis I alligevel ikke adlyder mig, men handler genstridigt mod mig,

28 then will I walk with you with a froward mind, and I will chasten you sevenfold according to your sins.

saa vil ogsaa jeg i Vrede handle genstridigt mod eder og tugte eder syvfold for eders Synder.

29 And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat.

I skal fortære eders Sønners Kød, og eders Døtres Kød skal I fortære.

30 And I will render your pillars desolate, and will utterly destroy your wooden [images] made with hands; and I will lay your carcases on the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall loathe you.

Jeg vil lægge eders Offerhøje øde og tilintetgøre eders Solsøjler; jeg vil dynge eders Lig oven paa Ligene af eders Afgudsbilleder, og min Sjæl skal væmmes ved eder.

31 And I will lay your cities waste, and I will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell the savour of your sacrifices.

Jeg vil lægge eders Byer i Ruiner og ødelægge eders Helligdomme og ikke indaande eders liflige Offerduft.

32 And I will lay your land desolate, and your enemies who dwell in it shall wonder at it.

Jeg vil lægge eders Land øde, saa eders Fjender, der bor deri, skal blive maalløse derover;

33 And I will scatter you amongst the nations, and the sword shall come upon you and consume you; and your land shall be desolate, and your cities shall be desolate.

og eder selv vil jeg sprede blandt Folkeslagene, og jeg vil gaa bag efter eder med draget Sværd. Eders Land skal blive en Ørken, og eders Byer skal lægges i Ruiner.

34 Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths all the days of its desolation.

Da skal Landet, medens det ligger øde, og I er i eders Fjenders Land, faa sine Sabbater godtgjort, da skal Landet hvile og faa sine Sabbater godtgjort;

35 And you shall be in the land of your enemies; then the land shall keep its sabbaths, and the land shall enjoy its sabbaths all the days of its desolation: it shall keep sabbaths which it kept not amongst your sabbaths, when you lived in it.

medens det ligger øde, skal det faa den Hvile, det ikke fik paa eders Sabbater, dengang I boede deri.

36 And to those who are left of you I will bring bondage into their heart in the land of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee as fleeing from war, and shall fall when none pursues them.

Men dem, der bliver tilbage af eder, over deres Hjerter bringer jeg Modløshed i deres Fjenders Lande, saa at Lyden af et raslende Blad kan drive dem paa Flugt, saa de flygter, som man flygter for Sværdet, og falder, skønt ingen forfølger dem;

37 And brother shall disregard brother as in war, when none pursues; and you shall not be able to withstand your enemies.

de skal falde over hverandre, som om Sværdet var efter dem, skønt ingen forfølger dem; og I skal ikke holde Stand over for eders Fjender.

38 And you shall perish amongst the Gentiles, and the land of your enemies shall devour you.

I skal gaa til Grunde blandt Folkeslagene, eders Fjenders Land skal fortære eder.

39 And those who are left of you shall perish, because of their sins, and because of the sins of their fathers: in the land of their enemies shall they consume away.

De, der bliver tilbage af eder, skal sygne hen for deres Misgernings Skyld i eders Fjenders Lande, ogsaa for deres Fædres Misgerninger skal de sygne hen ligesom de.

40 And they shall confess their sins, and the sins of their fathers, that they have transgressed and neglected me, and that they have walked perversely before me,

Da skal de bekende deres Misgerning og deres Fædres Misgerning, den Troløshed, de begik imod mig. Ogsaa skal de bekende, at fordi de handlede genstridigt mod mig,

41 and I walked with them with a perverse mind; and I will destroy them in the land of their enemies: then shall their uncircumcised heart be ashamed, and then shall they acquiesce in [the punishment of] their sins.

maatte ogsaa jeg handle genstridigt mod dem og føre dem bort til deres Fjenders Land; ja, da skal deres uomskaarne Hjerter ydmyges, og de skal undgælde for deres Skyld.

42 And I will remember the covenant of Jacob, and the covenant of Isaac, and the covenant of Abraam will I remember.

Da vil jeg komme min Pagt med Jakob i Hu, ogsaa min Pagt med Isak, ogsaa min Pagt med Abraham vil jeg komme i Hu, og Landet vil jeg komme i Hu.

43 And I will remember the land, and the land shall be left of them; then the land shall enjoy her sabbaths, when it is deserted through them: and they shall accept [the punishment of] their iniquities, because they neglected my judgements, and in their soul loathed my ordinances.

Men først maa Landet forlades af dem og have sine Sabbater godtgjort, medens det ligger øde og forladt af dem, og de skal undgælde for deres Skyld, fordi, ja, fordi de lod haant om mine Lovbud og væmmedes ved mine Anordninger.

44 And yet not even thus, while they were in the land of their enemies, did I overlook them, nor did I loathe them so as to consume them, to break my covenant made with them; for I am the Lord their God.

Men selv da, naar de er i deres Fjenders Land, vil jeg ikke lade haant om dem og ikke væmmes ved dem til deres fuldkomne Undergang, saa jeg skulde bryde min Pagt med dem; thi jeg er HERREN deres Gud!

45 And I will remember their former covenant, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage before the nation, to be their God; I am the Lord.

Jeg vil til deres Bedste ihukomme Pagten med Fædrene, som jeg førte ud af Ægypten for Folkeslagenes Øjne for at være deres Gud. Jeg er HERREN!

46 These are my judgements and my ordinances, and the law which the Lord gave between himself and the children of Israel, in the mount Sina, by the hand of Moses.

Det er de Anordninger, Lovbud og Love, HERREN fastsatte mellem sig og Israeliterne paa Sinaj Bjerg ved Moses.
