< Lamentations 5 >
1 Remember, O Lord, what has happened to us: behold, and look on our reproach.
Sonje, O SENYÈ, sa ki te rive nou an. Gade pou wè repwòch nou.
2 Our inheritance has been turned away to aliens, our houses to strangers:
Eritaj nou te bay kon don a etranje yo, kay nou yo a moun nou pa konnen.
3 we are become orphans, we have no father, our mothers are as widows.
Nou te devni òfelen san papa. Manman nou yo tankou vèv.
4 We have drunk our water for money; our wood is sold to us [for a burden] on our neck:
Nou oblije achte dlo pou nou bwè. Bwa nou se pou vann, yo vann nou li.
5 we have been persecuted, we have laboured, we have had no rest.
Sila k ap kouri dèyè nou yo rive sou kou nou. Nou vin bouke nèt. Nanpwen repo pou nou.
6 Egypt gave the hand [to us], Assur to their own satisfaction.
Nou te vin soumèt devan Egypte ak Assyrie pou nou jwenn ase pen.
7 Our fathers sinned, [and] are not: we have borne their iniquities.
8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none to ransom [us] out of their hand.
Se esklav yo k ap domine sou nou; nanpwen moun ki pou delivre nou nan men yo.
9 We shall bring in our bread with [danger of] our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
Nou riske lavi nou pou jwenn pen akoz nepe nan dezè a.
10 Our skin is blackened like an oven; they are convulsed, because of the storms of famine.
Po nou vin kwit tankou yon fou, akoz gwo chalè grangou a.
11 They humbled the women in Sion, the virgins in the cities of Juda.
Yo te ravaje tout fanm Sion yo; vyèj lavil a Juda yo.
12 Princes were hanged up by their hands: the elders were not honoured.
13 The chosen men lifted up [the voice in] weeping, and the youths fainted under the wood.
Jennonm yo te fòse travay devan moulen an e timoun yo te kilbite anba gwo chaj bwa yo.
14 And the elders ceased from the gate, the chosen men ceased from their music.
15 The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
Jwa nan kè nou vin sispann; danse vin ranplase pa fè dèy.
16 The crown has fallen [from] our head: yes, woe to us! for we have sinned.
Kouwòn nan soti sou tèt nou; malè a nou menm, paske nou te peche!
17 For this has grief come; our heart is sorrowful: for this our eyes are darkened.
18 Over the mountain of Sion, because it is made desolate, foxes have walked therein.
Akoz Mòn Sion ki kouche dezole nèt, rena yo fè patwouj ladann.
19 But you, O Lord, shall dwell for ever; your throne [shall endure] to generation and generation.
20 Therefore will you utterly forget us, and abandon us a long time?
21 Turn us, O Lord, to you, and we shall be turned; and renew our days as before.
Restore nou a Ou menm O SENYÈ, pou nou ka vin restore. Fè jou nou yo vin jan yo te ye nan tan pase yo.
22 For you have indeed rejected us; you have been very angry against us.
Men Ou deja fin rejte nou nèt. Ou rete byen fache nèt ak nou.
