< Lamentations 3 >

1 ALEPH. I am the man that sees poverty, through the rod of his wrath upon me.
Nyee nye ŋutsu si kpe fu le eƒe dziku ƒe ameƒoti te.
2 He has taken me, and led me away into darkness, and not [into] light.
Enyam ɖe nu eye wòna mezɔ viviti me, menye kekeli me o;
3 Nay, against me has he turned his hand all the day.
Vavã etrɔ eƒe asiwo ɖe ŋutinye atraɖii le ŋkeke blibo la me.
4 He has made old my flesh and my skin; he has broken my bones.
Ena be nye ŋutilã kple nye ŋutigbalẽ do xoxo eye wògbã ƒu ɖe lãme nam.
5 BETH. He has built against me, and compassed my head, and brought travail [upon me].
Eva dze dzinye eye wòtsɔ veve helĩhelĩ kple fukpekpe tɔ kpɔ ɖe ŋunye.
6 He has set me in dark places, as them that have long been dead.
Ena menɔ viviti me abe ame siwo ku gbe aɖe gbe ke ene.
7 He has builded against me, and I can’t come forth: he has made my brazen [chain] heavy.
Etɔ kpɔ ƒo xlãm ale be nyemate ŋu asi o, eɖom anyi kple gakɔsɔkɔsɔ.
8 GIMEL. Yes, [though] I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
Ne meyɔe alo do ɣli be wòaxɔ nam gɔ̃ hã la, edoa ʋɔ ɖe nye gbedodoɖa nu.
9 DALETH. He has built up my ways, he has hedged my paths;
Etsɔ kpe gãwo xe mɔ me nam eye wòglɔ̃ nye mɔwo.
10 he has troubled me, [as] a she-bear lying in wait: he is to me [as] a lion in secret places.
Abe sisiblisi si de xa ɖi kple dzata si le adeklo dzi ene la,
11 He pursued [me] after I departed, and brought me to a stand: he has utterly ruined me.
ehem ɖa le mɔ me eye wòvuvum, hegblẽm ɖi kpeɖeŋutɔmanɔsitɔe.
12 HE. He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
Evu eƒe da me eye wòdzidze eƒe dati ɖe dzinye.
13 He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
Etsɔ aŋutrɔwo le eƒe daku me tsɔ ŋɔ nye dzi.
14 I became a laughing stock to all my people; and their song all the day.
Mezu nu ɖikokoe le nye amewo katã dome, woɖua fewu le ŋunye to hadzidzi me ŋkeke blibo la katã.
15 VAU. He has filled me with bitterness, he has drenched me with gall.
Etsɔ ama veve ɖi ƒo nam eye wòkpe veve nam meno.
16 And he has dashed out my teeth with gravel, he has fed me with ashes.
Etsɔ kpe ŋe aɖu nam eye wòfanyam ɖe kewɔ me.
17 He has also removed my soul from peace: I forgot prosperity.
Woxɔ ŋutifafa le asinye, meŋlɔ nu si dzɔgbenyui nye la be.
18 Therefore my success has perished, and my hope from the Lord.
Eya ta megblɔ be, “Nye atsyɔ̃nu yi eye nu siwo katã mele mɔ kpɔm na tso Yehowa gbɔ la hã nu va yi.”
19 ZAIN. I remembered by reason of my poverty, and because of persecution my bitterness and gall shall be remembered;
Meɖo ŋku nye hiã, tsaglalãtsatsa, dzigbagbã kple vevesese dzi.
20 and my soul shall meditate with me.
Meɖo ŋku wo katã dzi nyuie eye nye luʋɔ bɔbɔ eɖokui le menye.
21 This will I lay up in my heart, therefore I will endure.
Ke esia dzi meɖo ŋkue eye mɔkpɔkpɔ ɖo asinye:
22 HETH. [It is] the mercies of the Lord, that he has not failed me, because his compassions are not exhausted. Pity [us], O Lord, early [every] month: for we are not brought to an end, because his compassions are not exhausted.
Le Yehowa ƒe lɔlɔ̃ deto la ta wometsrɔ̃ mí o elabena eƒe nublanuikpɔkpɔ mevɔna o.
23 [They are] new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
Wozua yeye ŋdi sia ŋdi, wò nuteƒewɔwɔ lolo ŋutɔ.
24 The Lord is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I wait for him.
Megblɔ na ɖokuinye be, “Yehowae nye nye gomekpɔkpɔ, eya ta manɔ esinu kpɔm.”
25 TETH. The Lord is good to them that wait for him: the soul which shall seek him
Yehowa ƒe dɔ me nyo na ame siwo tsɔ woƒe mɔkpɔkpɔ da ɖe edzi, kple ame siwo dinɛ vevie.
26 [is] good, and shall wait for, and quietly expect salvation of the Lord.
Enyo be woalala le ɖoɖoezizi me na Yehowa ƒe ɖeɖe.
27 TETH. [It is] good for a man when he bears a yoke in his youth.
Enyo na ame be wòatsɔ kɔkuti le ɖekakpuime.
28 He will sit alone, and be silent, because he has borne [it] upon him.
Nenɔ anyi le ɖoɖoezizi me elabena Yehowae tsɔ kɔkuti la da ɖe edzi.
Netsɔ eƒe mo ƒo ɖe ke me, ɖewohĩ mɔkpɔkpɔ gali.
30 JOD. He will give [his] cheek to him that smites him: he will be filled full with reproaches.
Neɖo to me anyi na ame si le eƒo ge eye ŋukpe neyɔe fũu.
31 For the Lord will not reject for ever.
Elabena Aƒetɔ la metsɔa ame ƒua gbe ɖikaa o
32 CHAPH. For he that has brought down will pity, and [that] according to the abundance of his mercy.
Togbɔ be ehea nuxaxa vɛ hã la, egakpɔa nublanui na ame, eye eƒe lɔlɔ̃ si nu metsina gbeɖe o la de to ŋutɔ.
33 He has not answered [in anger] from his heart, though he has brought low the children of a man.
Elabena mehea fukpekpe kple nuxaxa vaa amegbetɔviwo dzi ɖe dzidzɔ teƒe o.
34 LAMED. To bring down under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,
Woafanya anyigbadzigamenɔlawo katã kple afɔ.
35 to turn aside the judgement of a man before the face of the Most High,
Ne woagbe nu si nye ame tɔ la tsɔtsɔ nɛ le Dziƒoʋĩtɔ la ŋkume,
36 to condemn a man [unjustly] in his judgement, the Lord has not given commandment.
eye wotrɔ gbo ame dzɔdzɔe ƒe nya; ɖe Aƒetɔ la makpɔ esiawo oa?
37 Who has thus spoken, and it has come to pass? the Lord has not commanded it.
Ame ka aƒo nu eye wòava eme, ne menye Aƒetɔ lae ɖe gbe o?
38 Out of the mouth of the Most High there shall not come forth evil and good.
Ɖe menye Dziƒoʋĩtɔ la ƒe nu mee dzɔgbevɔ̃enyawo kple dzidzɔnyawo siaa doa go tsona oa?
39 MEM. Why should a living man complain, a man concerning his sin?
Nu ka ta amegbetɔ ahe nya ne wohe to nɛ ɖe eƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta?
40 NUN. Our way has been searched out and examined, and we will turn to the Lord.
Mina míalé ŋku ɖe míaƒe zɔzɔme ŋu ne míado wo akpɔ eye mina míatrɔ ɖe Yehowa ŋu.
41 Let us lift up our hearts with [our] hand to the lofty One in heaven.
Mina míado míaƒe dziwo kple asiwo ɖe Mawu gbɔ le dziƒo ahagblɔ bena:
42 We have sinned, we have transgressed; and you have not pardoned.
“Míewɔ nu vɔ̃ hedze aglã eye mètsɔe ke mi o.
43 SAMECH. You has visited [us] in wrath, and driven us away: you has slain, you has not pitied.
“Ètsɔ dziku tsyɔ ɖokuiwò dzi eye nèti mía yome hewu mí nublanuimakpɔmakpɔtɔe.
44 You have veiled yourself with a cloud because of prayer, that I might be blind,
Ètsɔ lilikpo tsyiɔ ɖokuiwò dzi ale be, gbedodoɖa aɖeke mate ŋu aɖo gbɔwò o.
45 and be cast off. AIN. You have set us [alone] in the midst of the nations.
Ètsɔ mí wɔ ŋunyɔnu kple gbeɖuɖɔe le dukɔwo dome.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth against us.
“Míaƒe futɔwo katã ke nu baa ɖe mía ŋuti.
47 Fear and wrath are come upon us, suspense and destruction.
Ŋɔdzi lé mí; míedze ʋe me eye tsɔtsrɔ̃ kple gbegblẽ va mía dzi.”
48 Mine eye shall pour down torrents of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
Nye ŋkuwo le aɖatsi fam yoyoyo elabena wotsrɔ̃ nye amewo.
49 PHE. Mine eye is drowned [with tears], and I will not be silent, so that there shall be no rest,
Nye ŋkuwo le aɖatsi fam ɖaa, enu gbe tsotso,
50 until the Lord look down, and behold from heaven.
va se ɖe esime Yehowa aɖo ŋku anyi tso dziƒo akpɔe.
51 Mine eye shall prey upon my soul, because of all the daughters of the city.
Nu si mekpɔ la na nye luʋɔ xa nu ɖe nyɔnu siwo katã le nye dua me la ta.
52 TSADE. The fowlers chased me as a sparrow, all mine enemies destroyed my life in a pit without cause,
Ame siwo nye nye futɔwo madzemadzee la ɖem ɖe nu abe xevi ene.
53 and laid a stone upon me.
Wodze agbagba be woatso nye agbe nu le vudo me eye wofɔ kpe ƒum.
54 Water flowed over my head: I said, I am cut off.
Tsi fie le tanye eye mesusu be evɔ nam.
55 KOPH. I called upon your name, O Lord, out of the lowest dungeon.
O Yehowa, wò ŋkɔe meyɔ le vudoa ƒe gogloƒe ke.
56 You heard my voice: close not your ears to my supplication.
Èse nye kukuɖeɖe be, “Mègado toku nye ɣlidodo eye nàgbe akɔfafa nam o.”
57 You drew near to my help: in the day wherein I called upon you you said to me, Fear not.
Ète va gbɔnye esi meyɔ wò eye nègblɔ be, “Mègavɔ̃ o.”
58 RECHS. O Lord, you has pleaded the causes of my soul; you has redeemed my life.
O, Aƒetɔ, èxɔ nye nya ɖe akɔ eye nèɖe nye agbe.
59 You have seen, O Lord, my troubles: you have judged my cause.
Wò ŋutɔ èkpɔ, O Yehowa, vɔ̃ si wowɔ ɖe ŋutinye. Na nye nya nadzɔ!
60 You have seen all their vengeance, [you have looked] on all their devices against me.
Èkpɔ woƒe hlɔ̃biabia ƒe kpekpeme kple nugbe siwo woɖo ɖe ŋunye.
61 CHSEN. You have heard their reproach [and] all their devices against me;
O Yehowa, èse woƒe dzudzuwo kple nu siwo katã woɖo ɖe ŋunye
62 the lips of them that rose up against me, and their plots against me all the day;
kple nye futɔwo ƒe dalĩdodo kple nuƒoƒo le ŋunye ŋkeke blibo la.
63 their sitting down and their rising up: look you upon their eyes.
Nye kɔ nàkpɔ wo ɖa! Wole anyinɔƒe o, wole tsitrenu o, woɖua fewu le ŋunye le woƒe hadzidziwo me.
64 You will render them a recompense, O Lord, according to the works of their hands.
O Yehowa, xe fe si dze wo la na wo, ɖe nu siwo woƒe asiwo wɔ la ta.
65 THAU. You will give them [as] a covering, the grief of my heart.
Tsɔ nutsyɔnu tsyɔ woƒe dziwo dzi eye nàna be wò fiƒode nanɔ wo dzi!
66 You will persecute them in anger, and will consume them from under the heaven, O Lord.
Ti wo yome kple dziku eye nàtsrɔ̃ wo le Yehowa ƒe dziƒo te.
