Judges 7
1 And Jerobaal rose early, the same is Gedeon, and all the people with him, and encamped at the fountain of Arad; and the camp of Madiam was to the north of him, [reaching] from Gabaathamorai, in the valley.
त्यसपछि यरूब-बाल, (अर्थात् गिदोन) र उनीसँग भएका सबै जना मानिसहरू बिहानै उठे, र हरोदको पानीको मूलको छेउमा तिनीहरूले छाउनी हाले । मिद्दानीहरूको छाउनीचाहिं तिनीहरूको उत्तरपट्टिको मोरेको पहाडनजिकको मैदानमा थियो ।
2 And the Lord said to Gedeon, The people with you [are] many, so that I may not deliver Madiam into their hand, lest at any time Israel boast against me, saying, My hand has saved me.
परमप्रभुले गिदोनलाई भन्नुभयो, “मिद्दानीहरूमाथि तँलाई विजय दिन मलाई चाहिएको भन्दा धेरै सेना छन्, ताकि इस्राएलले मसँग यसो भनेर घमण्ड नगरोस्, ‘हाम्रो आफ्नै शक्तिले हामीलाई बचाएको हो ।’
3 And now speak in the ears of the people, saying, Who [is] afraid and fearful? let him turn and depart from mount Galaad: and there returned of the people twenty-two thousand, and ten thousand were left.
यसकारण अब मानिसहरूले सुन्ने गरी घोषणा गर र यसो भन्, ‘जो डराएको छ, जो थरथर भएको छ, ऊ फर्कोस् र गिलाद डाँडाबाट विदा होस् ।’” यसैले बाइस हजार मानिसहरू फर्केर गए, र दश हजार बाँकी रहे ।
4 And the Lord said to Gedeon, The people is yet numerous; bring them down to the water, and I will purge them there for you: and it shall come to pass that of whoever I shall say to you, This one shall go with you, [even] he shall go with you; and of whoever I shall say to you, This one shall not go with you, [even] he shall not go with you.
परमप्रभुले गिदोनलाई भन्नुभयो, “मनिसहरू अझै पनि ज्यादै धेरै छन् । तिनीहरूलाई तल पानीमा लैजा, र त्यहाँ तेरो निम्ति तिनीहरूका सङ्ख्या म कम गरिदिनेछु । म तँलाई भन्छु, ‘यो व्यक्तिचाहिं तँसँग जानेछ’ भने, ऊ तँसँग जानेछ । तर म तँलाई बन्छु, ‘यो व्यक्तिचाहिं तँसँग जानेछैन’ भने, ऊ तँसँग जानेछैन ।”
5 And he brought the people down to the water; and the Lord said to Gedeon, Whosoever shall lap of the water with his tongue as if a dog should lap, you shall set him apart, and [also] whoever shall bow down upon his knees to drink.
यसैले गिदोनले मानिसहरूलाई तल पानीमा लगे, र परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “घुँडा टेकेर पानी पिउनेहरूबाट कुकुरले झैं चाटेर पानी पिउनेहरूलाई अलग गर् ।”
6 And the number of those that lapped with their hand to their mouth was three hundred men; and all the rest of the people bowed upon their knees to drink water.
तिन सय जना मानिसहरूले चाटेर पिए । अरू बाँकी मानिसले घुँडा टेकेर पानी पिए ।
7 And the Lord said to Gedeon, I will save you by the three hundred men that lapped, and I will give Madiam into your hand; and all the [rest of the] people shall go every one to his place.
परमप्रभुले गिदोनलाई भन्नुभयो, “यी चाटेर पानी पिएका तिन सय जना मानिसहरू लिएर तिमीहरूलाई म बचाउनेछु र मिद्दानीहरूमाथि विजय दिनेछु । अरू हरेक मानिसलाई आफ्नै ठाउँमा फर्केर जान दे ।”
8 And they took the provision of the people in their hand, and their horns; and he sent away every man of Israel each to his tent, and he strengthened the three hundred; and the army of Madiam were beneath him in the valley.
यसैले चुनिएकाहरूले आ-आफ्ना सर-समान र तुरहीहरू लिए । गिदोनले इस्राएलका सबै मानिस, हरेक मानिसलाई उसको आफ्नै पालमा फर्काइदिए, तर तिनले ती तिन सय जना मानिसलाई राखे । अब मिद्दानीका छाउनी तल बेसीमा थियो ।
9 And it came to pass in that night that the Lord said to him, Arise, go down into the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand.
त्यो रात परमप्रभुले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “उठ्! छाउनीलाई आक्रमण गर्, किनकि म तँलाई त्यसमाथि विजय दिन जाँदैछु ।
10 And if you are afraid to go down, go down you and your servant Phara into the camp.
तर तँलाई तल जान डर लागेको छ भने, तेरो सेवक पूराहसँग तल छाउनीमा जा,
11 And you shall hear what they shall say, and afterwards your hands shall be strong, and you shall go down into the camp: and he went down and Phara his servant to the extremity of the [companies of] fifty, which were in the camp.
र तिनीहरूले के भन्दैछन्, त्यो सुन्, र छाउनीमा आक्रमण गर्न तेरो साहस बढ्नेछ ।” यसैले गिदोन आफ्ना सेवक पूराहसँग तल छाउनीको सुरक्षाबल भएको ठाउँमा गए ।
12 And Madiam and Amalec and all the children of the east [were] scattered in the valley, as the locust for multitude; and there was no number to their camels, but they were as the sand on the seashore for multitude.
मिद्दानीहरू, अमालेकीहरू, र पूर्वका सबै मानिसहरू बेसीमा, सलहका हुलझैं भेला भएर बसेका थिए । तिनीहरूका ऊँटहरू अनगिन्ती थिए, र तिनीहरूको सङ्ख्या समुद्र किनारका बालुवाका कणहरूभन्दा पनि धेरै थिए ।
13 And Gedeon came, and behold a man [was] relating to his neighbour a dream, and he said, Behold, I have dreamt a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread rolling into the camp of Madiam, and it came as far as a tent, and struck it, and it fell, and it turned it up, and the tent fell.
जब गिदोन त्यहाँ पुगे, एक जना मानिसले आफ्नो साथीलाई सपनाको बारेमा भन्दै थियो । त्यस मानिसले भन्यो, “हेर, मैले एउटा सपना देखें, र जौको एउटा रोटी मिद्दानीको छाउनीभित्र गुड्दै आयो । त्यो पालमा आयो, र त्यसलाई जोडले हिर्कायो र त्यसलाई उल्टो गरी पल्टाइदियो, यसैले त्यो ढल्यो ।”
14 And his neighbour answered and said, This is none other than the sword of Gedeon, son of Joas, a man of Israel: God has delivered Madiam and all the host into his hand.
अर्को मानिसले भन्यो, “यो त इस्राएली गिदोनको (योआशका छोराको) तरवारबाहेक अरू केही होइन । परमेश्वरले तिनलाई मिद्दानी र तिनीहरूका सबै सेनामाथि विजय दिनुभएको छ ।”
15 And it came to pass when Gedeon heard the account of the dream and the interpretation of it, that he worshipped the Lord, and returned to the camp of Israel, and said, Rise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Madiam into our hand.
जब गिदोनले त्यस सपना भनेको र त्यसको अर्थ लगाइएको सुने, तब तिनले घोप्टो परेर दण्डवत् गरे । तिनी इस्राएलको छाउनीमा फर्केर गए र भने, “उठ! परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूलाई मिद्दानी सेनामाथि विजय दिनुभएको छ ।”
16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and put horns in the hands of all, and empty pitchers, and torches in the pitchers:
ति तिन सय जना मानिसलाई तिनले तिनवटा समुहमा विभाजन गरे, र तिनले उनीहरूलाई सबै तुरहीहरू र हरेक गाग्रोभित्र राँको हालेर खाली गाग्रोहरू दिए ।
17 and he said to them, You shall look at me, and so shall you do; and behold, I will go into the beginning of the host, and it shall come to pass [that] as I do, so shall you do.
तिनले उनीहरूलाई भने, “मलाई हेर, र म जे गर्छु त्यही गर । हेर! जब म छाउनीको छेऊमा पुग्छु, तब म जे गर्छु तिमीहरूले त्यही गर्नू ।
18 And I will sound with the horn, and all you with me shall sound with the horn round about the whole camp, and you shall say, For the Lord and Gedeon.
जब म तुरही फुक्छु, मसँग भएका सबै जनाले, तब छाउनीको हरेक कुनाबाट तिमीहरूका तुरहीहरू पनि फुक्नू र यसो भनेर कराउनू ‘परमप्रभुको निम्ति र गिदोनको निम्ति!’”
19 And Gedeon and the hundred men that were with him came to the extremity of the army in the beginning of the middle watch; and they completely roused the guards, and sounded with the horns, and they broke the pitchers that were in their hands,
यसैले गिदोन र तिनीसँग भएका एक सय जना मानिस राती दश बजेतिर छाउनीको छेऊमा गए । मिद्दानीहरूले रक्षकको हेरफेर गर्दै थिए, तिनीहरूले तुरहीहरू फुके र आफ्ना हातहरूमा भएका गाग्रोहरू फुटाए ।
20 and the three companies sounded with the horns, and broke the pitchers, and held the torches in their left hands, and in their right hands their horns to sound with; and they cried out, A sword for the Lord and for Gedeon.
तिनै दलले तुरहीहरू फुके र गाग्रोहरू फुटाए । तिनीहरूले राँकोलाई आ-आफ्ना देब्रे हातमा लिए र तुरही फुक्नलाई दाहिने हातमा बोके । तिनीहरू कराएर भने, “परमप्रभुको निम्ति र गिदोनको निम्ति तरवार ।”
21 And [every] man stood in his place round about the host; and all the host ran, and sounded [an alarm], and fled.
हरेक मानिस आफ्नो ठाउँमा छाउनीको वरिपरि खडा भए र सबै मिद्दानी सेना भागे । तिनीहरू ठुलो सोरमा कराए र भागे ।
22 And they sounded with the three hundred horns; and the Lord set [every] man's sword in all the host against his neighbour.
जब तिनीहरूले तिन सय तुरही फुके, तब परमप्रभुले हरेक मिद्दानीको तरवारलाई आ-आफ्ना साथी-लडाकु र तिनीहरूका सबै सेनाको विरुद्धमा उठाउनुभयो । सबै सेनाहरू सरेरातर्फ बेथ-शित्तामसम्म, र तब्बातको नजिक हाबिल-महोलाको सिमानासम्म भागे ।
23 And the host fled as far as Bethseed Tagaragatha Abel-meula to Tabath; and the men of Israel from Nephthali, and from Aser, and from all Manasse, came to help, and followed after Madiam.
नप्ताली, आशेर, र सबै मनश्शेबाट इस्राएलका मानिसहरू बोलाइए, र तिनीहरू मिद्दानीहरूका पछि लागे ।
24 And Gedeon sent messengers into all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down to meet Madiam, and take to yourselves the water as far as Baethera and Jordan: and every man of Ephraim cried out, and they took the water before hand to Baethera and Jordan.
गिदोनले यसो भन्दै एफ्राइमको सबै पहाडी देशमा दूतहरू पठाए, “मिद्दानीहरूको विरुद्ध तल जाओ र तिनीहरूलाई रोक्नको निम्ति बेथ-बरासम्म यार्दन नदीमाथि नियन्त्रण गर ।” यसैले एफ्राइमका सबै मानिसहरू एकसाथ भेला भए र बेथ-बरासम्म यर्दन नदीमाथि नियन्त्रण गरे ।
25 And they took the princess of Madiam, even Oreb and Zeb; and they killed Oreb in Sur Oreb, and they killed Zeb in Jakephzeph; and they pursued Madiam, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeb to Gedeon from beyond Jordan.
तिनीहरूले दुई मिद्दानी राजकुमार, ओरेब र जएबलाई कब्जा गरे । तिनीहरूले ओरेबलाई ओरेबको चट्टानमा, र जएबलाई जएबको दाखको कोलमा मारे । तिनीहरूले मिद्दानीहरूका पछि केद्दै गए र तिनीहरूले यर्दनको वारि भएका गिदोनकहाँ ओरेब र जएबका टाउकाहरू लिएर आए ।
