Judges 4
1 And the children of Israel continued to do evil against the Lord; and Aod was dead.
Pero después que murió Ehud, los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo delante de Yavé.
2 And the Lord sold the children of Israel into the hand of Jabin king of Chanaan, who ruled in Asor; and the chief of his host was Sisara, and he lived in Arisoth of the Gentiles.
Yavé los entregó en mano de Jabín, rey de Canaán, quien reinaba en Hazor. El comandante de su ejército era Sísara, quien vivía en Haroset-goim.
3 And the children of Israel cried to the Lord, because he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and he mightily oppressed Israel twenty years.
Entonces los hijos de Israel clamaron a Yavé, porque aquél tenía 900 carruajes de hierro. Durante 20 años oprimió con crueldad a los hijos de Israel.
4 And Debbora, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, —she judged Israel at that time.
En ese tiempo Débora, una profetisa, esposa de Lapidot, juzgaba en Israel.
5 And she sat under the palm tree of Debbora between Rama and Baethel in mount Ephraim; and the children of Israel went up to her for judgement.
Acostumbraba sentarse bajo la palmera de Débora, entre Ramá y Bet-ʼEl, en la región montañosa de Efraín, y los hijos de Israel acudían a ella para que los juzgara.
6 And Debbora sent and called Barac the son of Abineem out of Cades Nephthali, and she said to him, Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded you? and you shall depart to mount Thabor, and shall take with yourself ten thousand men of the sons of Nephthali and of the sons of Zabulon.
Ella mandó a llamar a Barac, hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes-neftalí, y le dijo: Mira, Yavé, el ʼElohim de Israel, mandó: Vé y marcha hacia la montaña Tabor. Toma contigo 10.000 hombres de los hijos de Neftalí y de los de Zabulón.
7 And I will bring to you to the torrent of Kison Sisara the captain of the host of Jabin, and his chariots, and his multitude, and I will deliver them into your hands.
Yo atraeré a Sísara, jefe del ejército de Jabín, con sus carruajes y su multitud al arroyo de Cisón y lo entregaré en tu mano.
8 And Barac said to her, If you will go with me, I will go; and if you will not go, I will not go; for I know not the day on which the Lord prospers his messenger with me.
Entonces Barac le respondió: Si tú vas conmigo, yo iré. Pero no iré si tú no vas conmigo.
9 And she said, I will surely go with you; but know that your honour shall not attend on the expedition on which you go, for the Lord shall sell Sisara into the hands of a women: and Debbora arose, and went with Barac out of Cades.
Y ella contestó: Ciertamente iré contigo, pero la gloria de la jornada que emprendes no será tuya, porque Yavé entregará a Sísara en las manos de una mujer. Débora se levantó y fue con Barac a Cedes.
10 And Barac called Zabulon and Nephthali out of Cades, and there went up at his feet ten thousand men, and Debbora went up with him.
Barac convocó a Zabulón y a Neftalí en Cedes, y subió con 10.000 hombres que siguieron sus pasos. Débora subió con él.
11 And Chaber the Kenite had removed from Caina, from the sons of Jobab the father-in-law of Moses, and pitched his tent by the oak of the covetous ones, which is near Kedes.
Ahora bien, Heber, el ceneo, se había separado de los ceneos descendientes de Hobab, suegro de Moisés, y desplegó sus tiendas hasta el robledal de Zanaim, que está junto a Cedes.
12 And it was told Sisara that Barac the son of Abineem was gone up to mount Thabor.
Se le informó a Sísara que Barac, hijo de Abinoam, subió a la montaña Tabor.
13 And Sisara summoned all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron and all the people with him, from Arisoth of the Gentiles to the brook of Kison.
Sísara reunió todos sus carruajes, 900 carruajes de hierro, y a todo el pueblo que estaba con él, desde Haroset-goim hasta el arroyo de Cisón.
14 And Debbora said to Barac, Rise up, for this [is] the day on which the Lord has delivered Sisara into your hand, for the Lord shall go forth before you: and Barac went down from mount Thabor, and ten thousand men after him.
Entonces Débora dijo a Barac: ¡Levántate, porque este es el día cuando Yavé entregó a Sísara en tu mano! ¿No salió Yavé delante de ti? Y Barac bajó de la montaña Tabor con 10.000 hombres detrás de él.
15 And the Lord discomfited Sisara, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barac: and Sisara descended from off his chariot, and fled on his feet.
Yavé destrozó a Sísara con todos sus carruajes y todo su ejército a filo de espada delante de Barac. Y Sísara, después de bajarse del carruaje, huyó a pie.
16 And Barac pursued after the chariots and after the army, into Arisoth of the Gentiles; and the whole army of Sisara fell by the edge of the sword, there was not one left.
Pero Barac persiguió los carruajes y al ejército hasta Haroset-goim. Todo el ejército de Sísara cayó a filo de espada hasta no quedar ni uno.
17 And Sisara fled on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Chaber the Kenite his friend: for there was peace between Jabin king of Asor and the house of Chaber the Kenite.
Sísara huyó a pie hasta la tienda de Jael, esposa de Heber ceneo, porque había paz entre Jabín, rey de Hazor, y la casa de Heber ceneo.
18 And Jael went, out to meet Sisara, and said to him, Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me, fear not: and he turned aside to her into the tent; and she covered him with a mantle.
Jael salió al encuentro de Sísara y le dijo: ¡Entra, ʼadón mío, entra aquí, no temas! Entonces él entró en la tienda de ella, y ella lo cubrió con una manta.
19 And Sisara said to her, Give me, I pray you, a little water to drink, for I am thirsty: and she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him to drink, and covered him.
Y él le dijo: Dame, te ruego, un poco de agua porque tengo sed. Ella entonces abrió un odre de leche, le dio de beber y lo volvió a cubrir.
20 And Sisara said to her, Stand now by the door of the tent, and it shall come to pass if any man come to you, and ask of you, and say, Is there [any] man here? then you shall say, There is not.
Y él le dijo: Quédate en la entrada de la tienda. Si alguno viene y te pregunta: ¿Hay alguien aquí? Tú le responderás que no.
21 And Jael the wife of Chaber took a pin of the tent, and took a hammer in her hand, and went secretly to him, and fastened the pin in his temple, and it went through to the earth, and he fainted away, and darkness fell upon him and he died.
Pero Jael, esposa de Heber, tomó una estaca de la tienda y tomó un mazo, fue calladamente hacia él. Le clavó la estaca en la sien, la cual penetró hasta la tierra, pues él estaba cansado y dormía profundamente. Y así murió.
22 And, behold, Barac [was] pursuing Sisara: and Jael went out to meet him, and he said to him, Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek: and he went in to her; and, behold, Sisara was fallen dead, and the pin [was] in his temple.
Ciertamente ahí venía Barac y perseguía a Sísara. Jael salió a recibirlo y le dijo: Ven, te mostraré al hombre que buscas. Y él entró con ella, y ahí estaba Sísara muerto con la estaca en la sien.
23 So God routed Jabin king of Chanaan in that day before the children of Israel.
Así ʼElohim sometió aquel día a Jabín, rey de Canaán, ante los hijos de Israel.
24 And the hand of the children of Israel prevailed more and more against Jabin king of Chanaan, until they utterly destroyed Jabin king of Chanaan.
La mano de los hijos de Israel presionó más y más pesadamente contra Jabín, rey de Canaán, hasta que acabaron de destruirlo.
