Joshua 4
1 And when the people had completely passed over Jordan, the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,
౧ప్రజలందరూ యొర్దానును నది దాటిన తరువాత యెహోవా యెహోషువతో ఇలా చెప్పాడు.
2 Take men from the people, one of each tribe,
౨“ప్రతి గోత్రానికి ఒకరు చొప్పున పన్నెండు మందిని ఏర్పరచి
3 and charge them; and you shall take out of the midst of Jordan twelve fit stones, and having carried them across together with yourselves, place them in your camp, where you shall encamp for the night.
౩యాజకుల కాళ్లు నిలిచిన స్థలం లో యొర్దాను మధ్య నుండి పన్నెండు రాళ్లను తీసి వాటిని బయటికి తెచ్చి, మీరు ఈ రాత్రి బస చేసే చోట వాటిని నిలబెట్టమని వారి కాజ్ఞాపించు.”
4 And Joshua having called twelve men of distinction amongst the children of Israel, one of each tribe,
౪కాబట్టి యెహోషువ ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల్లో సిద్ధపరచిన పన్నెండు మందిని, అంటే ప్రతి గోత్రానికి ఒక్కొక్కరిని పిలిపించి,
5 said to them, Advance before me in the presence of the Lord into the midst of Jordan, and each having taken up a stone from thence, let him carry it on his shoulders, according to the number of the twelve tribes of Israel:
౫వారితో ఇలా అన్నాడు. “యొర్దాను మధ్య ఉన్న మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మందసం ఎదుట నుండి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రాల లెక్క చొప్పున ప్రతివాడూ ఒక్కొక్క రాతిని తన భుజం మీద పెట్టుకుని తేవాలి.
6 that these may be to you continually for an appointed sign, that when your son asks you in future, saying, What are these stones to us?
౬ఇక మీదట మీ సంతానం ఈ రాళ్ళు ఎందుకని అడిగినప్పుడు మీరు, ‘యెహోవా మందసం ముందు యొర్దాను నీళ్లు ఏకరాశిగా ఆగిపోయాయి.
7 then you may explain to your son, saying, The river Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it passed it: and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel for ever.
౭యొర్దానును దాటుతుండగా యొర్దాను నీళ్లు ఆగిపోయాయి కాబట్టి ఈ రాళ్లు చిరకాలం ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు జ్ఞాపకార్ధంగా ఉంటాయి’ అని వారితో చెప్పాలి.”
8 And the children of Israel did so, as the Lord commanded Joshua; and they took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, (as the Lord commanded Joshua, when the children of Israel had completely passed over, ) and carried these stones with them into the camp, and laid them down there.
౮యెహోషువ ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్టు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చేశారు. యెహోవా యెహోషువతో చెప్పినట్టు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రాల లెక్క చొప్పున యొర్దాను మధ్య నుండి పన్నెండు రాళ్లను తీసి తాము బసచేసిన చోటికి తెచ్చి అక్కడ నిలబెట్టారు.
9 And Joshua set also other twelve stones in Jordan itself, in the place that was under the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord; and there they are to this day.
౯అప్పుడు యెహోషువ నిబంధన మందసాన్ని మోసే యాజకుల కాళ్లు యొర్దాను మధ్య నిలిచిన చోట పన్నెండు రాళ్లను నిలబెట్టించాడు. నేటి వరకూ అవి అక్కడ ఉన్నాయి.
10 And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant stood in Jordan, until Joshua [had] finished all that the Lord commanded him to report to the people; and the people hasted and passed over.
౧౦ప్రజలతో చెప్పాలని యెహోవా యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞాపించినదంతా, అంటే మోషే యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞాపించినదంతా నెరవేరే వరకూ యాజకులు మందసాన్ని మోస్తూ యొర్దాను మధ్య నిలబడగా ప్రజలు త్వరపడి దాటారు.
11 And it came to pass when all the people had passed over, that the ark of the covenant of the Lord passed over, and the stones before them.
౧౧ప్రజలందరూ దాటిన తరువాత వారు చూస్తుండగా యెహోవా మందసం మోసే యాజకులు దాటారు.
12 And the sons of Ruben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses commanded them.
౧౨ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చూస్తుండగా రూబేనీయులూ గాదీయులూ మనష్షే అర్థగోత్రపు వారూ మోషే వారితో చెప్పినట్టు యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై దాటారు.
13 Forty thousand armed for battle went over before the Lord to war, to the city of Jericho.
౧౩సేనలో ఇంచుమించు నలభై వేలమంది యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై యుద్ధం చేయడానికి యెహోవా సమక్షంలో దాటి యెరికో మైదానాలకు వచ్చారు.
14 In that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all the people of Israel; and they feared him, as [they did] Moses, as long as he lived.
౧౪ఆ రోజున యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరి ముందు యెహోషువను గొప్ప చేసినందువల్ల వారు మోషేను గౌరవించినట్టు యెహోషువా జీవించినంత కాలం అతన్ని గౌరవించారు.
15 And the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,
౧౫యెహోవా “సాక్ష్యపు మందసాన్ని మోసే యాజకులను యొర్దానులో నుండి ఇవతలికి రమ్మని ఆజ్ఞాపించు”
16 Charge the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the testimony of the Lord, to go up out of Jordan.
౧౬అని యెహోషువతో చెప్పినప్పుడు
17 And Joshua charged the priests, saying, Go up out of Jordan.
౧౭యెహోషువ “యొర్దానులో నుండి ఎక్కి రండి” అని యాజకులకు ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.
18 And it came to pass when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord were gone up out of Jordan, and set their feet upon the land, [that] the water of Jordan returned impetuously to its place, and went as before over all its banks.
౧౮యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసాన్ని మోసే యాజకులు యొర్దాను మధ్యలో నుండి ఎక్కి వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆ యాజకుల అరికాళ్లు పొడి నేల మీద నిలబడగానే యొర్దాను నీళ్లు వాటి చోటికి ఎప్పటిలాగే తమ చోటికి మళ్ళి దాని గట్లన్నిటి మీదా పొర్లి ప్రవహించాయి.
19 And the people went up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month; and the children of Israel encamped in Galgala in the region eastward from Jericho.
౧౯మొదటి నెల పదో తేదీన ప్రజలు యొర్దాను నదిలో నుండి వచ్చి యెరికో తూర్పు ప్రాంతంలోని గిల్గాలులో దిగగానే
20 And Joshua set these twelve stones which he took out of Jordan, in Galgala,
౨౦యొర్దానులో నుండి వారు తెచ్చిన పన్నెండు రాళ్లను యెహోషువ గిల్గాలులో నిలబెట్టించి
21 saying, When your sons ask you, saying, What are these stones?
౨౧ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో ఇలా అన్నాడు “రాబోయే కాలంలో మీ సంతానం ‘ఈ రాళ్ళు ఎందుకు’ అని వారి తండ్రులను అడిగితే,
22 Tell your sons, that Israel went over this Jordan on dry land,
౨౨అప్పుడు మీరు, ‘ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఆరిన నేలమీద ఈ యొర్దాను నదిని దాటారు’ అని చెప్పాలి.
23 when the Lord our God had dried up the water of Jordan from before them, until they had passed over; as the Lord our God did to the Red Sea, which the Lord our God dried up from before us, until we passed over.
౨౩యెహోవా బాహువు బలమైనదని భూప్రజలందరూ తెలుసుకోడానికీ
24 That all the nations of the earth might know, that the power of the Lord is mighty, and that you might worship the Lord our God in every work.
౨౪మీరు ఎప్పుడూ మీ దేవుడు యెహోవా పట్ల భయభక్తులు కలిగి ఉండడానికీ, మేము దాటేవరకూ మీ దేవుడు యెహోవా తానే మన ముందు ఎర్ర సముద్రాన్ని ఎలాగైతే ఎండి పోయేలా చేశాడో అలాగే మీరు దాటే వరకూ యొర్దాను నీళ్ళను కూడా ఎండి పోయేలా చేశాడని చెప్పి ఈ సంగతి వారికి తెలియపరచాలి.”
