Job 34
1 And Elius continued, and said,
Επανελάβε δε ο Ελιού και είπεν·
2 Hear me, you wise men; listen, you that have knowledge.
Ακούσατε τους λόγους μου, ω σοφοί· και δότε ακρόασιν εις εμέ, οι νοήμονες·
3 For the ear tries words, and the mouth tastes meat.
Διότι το ωτίον δοκιμάζει τους λόγους, ο δε ουρανίσκος γεύεται το φαγητόν.
4 Let us choose judgement to ourselves: let us know amount ourselves what is right.
Ας εκλέξωμεν εις εαυτούς κρίσιν· ας γνωρίσωμεν μεταξύ ημών τι το καλόν.
5 For Job has said, I am righteous: the Lord has removed my judgement.
Διότι ο Ιώβ είπεν, Είμαι δίκαιος· και ο Θεός αφήρεσε την κρίσιν μου·
6 And he has erred in my judgement: my wound is severe without unrighteousness [of mine].
εψεύσθην εις την κρίσιν μου· η πληγή μου είναι ανίατος, άνευ παραβάσεως.
7 What man is as Job, drinking scorning like water?
Τις άνθρωπος ως ο Ιώβ, όστις καταπίνει τον χλευασμόν ως ύδωρ·
8 [saying], I have not sinned, nor committed ungodliness, nor had fellowship with workers of iniquity, to go with the ungodly.
και υπάγει εν συνοδία μετά των εργατών της ανομίας, και περιπατεί μετά ανθρώπων ασεβών;
9 For you should not say, There shall be no visitation of a man, whereas [there is] a visitation on him from the Lord.
Διότι είπεν, ουδέν ωφελεί τον άνθρωπον το να ευαρεστή εις τον Θεόν.
10 Therefore hear me, you that are wise in heart: far be it from me to sin before the Lord, and to pervert righteousness before the almighty.
Διά τούτο ακούσατέ μου, άνδρες συνετοί· μη γένοιτο να υπάρχη εις τον Θεόν αδικία, και εις τον Παντοδύναμον ανομία.
11 Yes, he renders to a man accordingly as each of them does, and in a man's path he will find him.
Επειδή κατά το έργον του ανθρώπου θέλει αποδώσει εις αυτόν, και θέλει κάμει έκαστον να εύρη κατά την οδόν αυτού.
12 And think you that the Lord will do wrong, or will the Almighty who made the earth wrest judgement?
Ναι, βεβαίως ο Θεός δεν θέλει πράξει ασεβώς, ουδέ θέλει διαστρέψει ο Παντοδύναμος την κρίσιν.
13 And who is he that made [the whole world] under heaven, and all things therein?
Τις κατέστησεν αυτόν επιτηρητήν της γης; ή τις διέταξε πάσαν την οικουμένην;
14 For if he would confine, and restrain his spirit with himself;
Εάν βάλη την καρδίαν αυτού επί τον άνθρωπον, θέλει σύρει εις εαυτόν το πνεύμα αυτού και την πνοήν αυτού·
15 all flesh would die together, and every mortal would return to the earth, whence also he was formed.
πάσα σαρξ θέλει εκπνεύσει ομού, και ο άνθρωπος θέλει επιστρέψει εις το χώμα.
16 Take heed lest he rebuke [you]: hear this, listen to the voice of words.
Εάν τώρα έχης σύνεσιν· άκουσον τούτο· ακροάθητι της φωνής των λόγων μου.
17 Behold then the one that hates iniquities, and that destroys the wicked, who is for ever just.
Μήπως κυβερνά ο μισών την ευθύτητα; και θέλεις καταδικάσει τον κατ' εξοχήν δίκαιον;
18 [He is] ungodly that says to a king, You are a transgressor, [that says] to princes, O most ungodly one.
όστις λέγει προς βασιλέα, Είσαι ασεβής, προς άρχοντας, Είσθε κακοί;
19 [Such a one] as would not reverence the face of an honourable man, neither knows how to give honour to the great, so as that their persons should be respected.
Όστις δεν προσωποληπτεί εις άρχοντας ουδέ αποβλέπει εις τον πλούσιον μάλλον παρά εις τον πτωχόν; επειδή πάντες ούτοι είναι έργον των χειρών αυτού.
20 But it shall turn out vanity to them, to cry and beseech a man; for they dealt unlawfully, the poor being turned aside [from their right].
Εν μιά στιγμή θέλουσιν αποθάνει, και το μεσονύκτιον ο λαός θέλει ταραχθή και θέλει παρέλθει· και ο ισχυρός θέλει αναρπαχθή, ουχί υπό χειρός.
21 For he surveys the works of men, and nothing of what they do has escaped him.
Διότι οι οφθαλμοί αυτού είναι επί τας οδούς του ανθρώπου, Και βλέπει πάντα τα βήματα αυτού.
22 Neither shall there be a place for the workers of iniquity to hide themselves.
Δεν είναι σκότος ουδέ σκιά θανάτου, όπου οι εργάται της ανομίας να κρυφθώσιν.
23 For he will not lay upon a man more [than right].
Επειδή δεν θέλει αφήσει πλέον τον άνθρωπον να έλθη εις κρίσιν μετά του Θεού.
24 For the Lord looks down upon all men, who comprehends unsearchable things, glorious also and excellent things without number.
Θέλει συντρίψει αναριθμήτους ισχυρούς και βάλει άλλους αντ' αυτών
25 Who discovers their works, and will bring night about [upon them], and they shall be brought low.
διότι γνωρίζει τα έργα αυτών, και ανατρέπει αυτούς την νύκτα, και συντρίβονται.
26 And he quite destroys the ungodly, for they are seen before him.
Κτυπά αυτούς ως ασεβείς εν τω τόπω των θεατών·
27 Because they turned aside from the law of God, and did not regard his ordinances,
επειδή εξέκλιναν απ' αυτού και δεν εθεώρησαν ουδεμίαν των οδών αυτού·
28 so as to bring before him the cry of the needy; for he will hear the cry of the poor.
και έκαμον να έλθη προς αυτόν η κραυγή των πτωχών, και ήκουσε την φωνήν των τεθλιμμένων.
29 And he will give quiet, and who will condemn? and he will hide his face, and who shall see him? whether [it be done] against a nation, or against a man also:
Και όταν αυτός δίδη ησυχίαν, τις θέλει διαταράξει αυτήν; και όταν κρύπτη το πρόσωπον αυτού, τις δύναται να ίδη αυτόν; είτε επί έθνος είτε επί άνθρωπον ομού·
30 causing a hypocrite to be king, because of the waywardness of the people.
ώστε να μη βασιλεύη υποκριτής, διά να μη παγιδεύηται ο λαός.
31 For [there is] one that says to the Mighty One, I have received [blessings]; I will not take a pledge:
Βεβαίως πρέπει να λέγη τις προς τον Θεόν, Έπαθον, δεν θέλω πλέον πράξει κακώς·
32 I will see apart from myself: do you show me if I have done unrighteousness; I will not do [so] any more.
ό, τι δεν βλέπω, συ δίδαξόν με· εάν έπραξα ανομίαν, δεν θέλω πράξει πλέον.
33 Will he take vengeance for it on you, whereas you will put [it] far [from you]? for you shall choose, and not I; and what you know, speak you.
Αλλά μήπως θέλει γείνει κατά τον στοχασμόν σου; είτε συ αποβάλης είτε εκλέξης, αυτός θέλει ανταποδώσει, και ουχί εγώ· λέγε λοιπόν ό, τι εξεύρεις.
34 Because the wise in heart shall say this, and a wise man listens to my word.
Άνδρες συνετοί θέλουσιν ειπεί προς εμέ, και ο σοφός άνθρωπος όστις με ακούει,
35 But Job has not spoken with understanding, his words are not [uttered] with knowledge.
Ο Ιώβ δεν ελάλησεν εν γνώσει, και οι λόγοι αυτού δεν ήσαν μετά συνέσεως.
36 Howbeit do you learn, Job: no longer make answer as the foolish:
Η επιθυμία μου είναι, ο Ιώβ να εξετασθή έως τέλους· επειδή απεκρίθη ως οι άνθρωποι οι ασεβείς.
37 that we add not to our sins: for iniquity will be reckoned against us, if [we] speak many words before the Lord.
Διότι εις την αμαρτίαν αυτού προσθέτει ασέβειαν· καυχάται μεταξύ ημών, και πολλαπλασιάζει τους λόγους αυτού εναντίον του Θεού.
