< Job 19 >

1 Then Job answered and said,
Awo Yobu n’addamu nti:
2 How long will you vex my soul, and destroy me with words? only know that the Lord has dealt with me thus.
“Mulikomya ddi okunnyigiriza ne mummenya n’ebigambo?
3 You speak against me; you do not feel for me, but bear hard upon me.
Emirundi kkumi nga munvuma; temukwatiddwa nsonyi kunnumba.
4 Yes verily, I have erred in truth, (but the error abides with myself) in having spoken words which it was not right [to speak]; and my words err, and are unreasonable.
Bwe kiba nga kituufu nti nawaba, obukyamu bwange, bwange nzekka.
5 But alas! for you magnify yourselves against me, and insult me with reproach.
Bwe muba munneegulumiririzaako ne mukozesa obulumi bwange okunfeebya,
6 Know then that it is the Lord that has troubled [me], and has raised his bulwark against me.
mumanye nga Katonda ankoze bubi era anzingizza mu kitimba kye.
7 Behold, I laugh at reproach; I will not speak: [or] I will cry out, but [there is] nowhere judgement.
“Wadde nga nkaaba nti, ‘Mpisiddwa bubi,’ siddibwamu; ne bwe nkuba enduulu, tewali antaasa.
8 I am fenced round about, and can by no means escape: he has set darkness before my face.
Azibye ekkubo lyange sisobola kuyita; amakubo gange agalese mu kizikiza.
9 And he has stripped me of my glory, and has taken the crown from my head.
Anziggyeeko ekitiibwa kyange n’anziggyako n’engule ku mutwe gwange.
10 He has torn me around about, and I am gone: and he has cut off my hope like a tree.
Anjuzaayuza ku buli ludda okutuusa lwe watasigalawo kantu, asigula essuubi lyange ng’omuti.
11 And he has dreadfully handled me in anger, and has counted me for an enemy.
Obusungu bwe bumbubuukirako; ambala ng’omu ku balabe be.
12 His troops also came upon me with one accord, liars in wait compassed my ways.
Amaggye ge galumba n’amaanyi; ganzimbako enkomera ne gagumba okwetooloola weema yange.
13 My brethren have stood aloof from me; they have recognised strangers [rather] than me: and my friends have become pitiless.
“Anziggyeeko baganda bange; abo bwe twali tumanyiganye banviiriddeko ddala.
14 My nearest of kin have not acknowledged me, and they that knew my name, have forgotten me.
Ab’ekika kyange banviiriddeko ddala, mikwano gyange ginneerabidde.
15 [As for] my household, and my maidservants, I was a stranger before them.
Abagenyi bange n’abaweereza bange abawala, bampisa nga gwe batamanyi, ne bandaba nga munnagwanga.
16 I called my servant, and he listened not; and my mouth entreated [him].
Mpita omuddu wange naye tawulira, wadde nga mwegayirira n’akamwa kange.
17 And I implored my wife, and earnestly entreated the sons of my concubines.
Omukka gwange gwe nzisa, guwunyira bubi mukyala wange; nakyayibwa baganda bange bennyini.
18 But they rejected me for ever; whenever I rise up, they speak against me.
N’obulenzi obuto bunsekerera; buli lwe bundaba bunvuma.
19 They that saw me abhorred me: the very persons whom I had loved, rose up against me.
Mikwano gyange gyonna enfirabulago gya nkyawa; abo be nnayagalanga banneefuukira.
20 My flesh is corrupt under my skin, and my bones are held in [my] teeth.
Siriiko bwe ndi wabula ndi ddiba na magumba: nsigazzaawo bibuno byokka.
21 Pity me, pity me, O friends; for it is the hand of the Lord that has touched me.
“Munkwatirwe ekisa mikwano gyange, munkwatirwe ekisa, kubanga omukono gwa Katonda gunkubye.
22 Therefore do you persecute me as also the Lord [does], and are not satisfied with my flesh?
Lwaki munjigga nga Katonda bw’anjigga? Omubiri gwe mufunye tegumala?
23 For oh that my words were written, and that they were recorded in a book forever,
“Singa nno ebigambo byange byawandiikibwa, Singa byawandiikibwa ku muzingo, bandiguwadde ani?
24 with an iron pen and lead, or graven in the rocks!
Singa byawandiikibwa n’ekyuma ku lubaati, oba okuwandiikibwa ku lwazi ne bibeerawo emirembe n’emirembe!
25 For I know that he is eternal who is about to deliver me,
Mmanyi nga Omununuzi wange mulamu, era nga ku nkomerero aliyimirira ku nsi.
26 [and] to raise up upon the earth my skin that endures these [sufferings]: for these things have been accomplished to me of the Lord;
Era ng’olususu lwange bwe luweddewo, kyokka mu mubiri gwange ndiraba Katonda;
27 which I am conscious of in myself, which mine eye has seen, and not another, but all have been fulfilled to me in [my] bosom.
nze mwene ndimulaba, n’amaaso gange, Nze, so si mulala. Emmeeme yange ng’eyaayaana munda mu nze!
28 But if you shall also say, What shall we say before him, and [so] find the root of the matter in him?
“Bwe mugamba nti, ‘Tujja kumuyigganya, kubanga ensibuko y’emitawaana eri mu ye;’
29 Do you also beware of deceit: for wrath will come upon transgressors; and then shall they know where their substance is.
nammwe bennyini musaana mutye ekitala. Kubanga obusungu buleeta okubonereza okw’ekitala, olwo mulyoke mumanye ng’eriyo okusalirwa omusango.”
