< Job 18 >

1 Then Baldad the Sauchite answered and said,
Mgbe ahụ Bildad onye Shua zara sị:
2 How long will you continue? forbear, that we also may speak.
“Ruo ole mgbe ka ị ga-ekwubi okwu ndị a ị na-ekwu? Nwee ezi uche ka anyị kparịtaa ụka.
3 For therefore have we been silent before you like brutes?
Gịnị mere i ji were anyị dịka anụ ọhịa, gụọ anyị dịka ndị na-enweghị uche nʼanya gị?
4 Anger has possessed you: for what if you should die; would [the earth] under heaven be desolate? or shall the mountains be overthrown from their foundations?
Gị onye na-eji iwe adọkasị onwe gị, a ga-ahapụ ụwa nʼihi gị? Ka a ga-enupu oke nkume nʼọnọdụ ha?
5 But the light of the ungodly shall be quenched, and their flame shall not go up.
“A na-afụnyụ oriọna nke onye na-emebi iwu; ire ọkụ ya ga-akwụsịkwa inwu enwu,
6 His light [shall be] darkness in [his] habitation, and his lamp shall be put out with him.
ìhè nke dị nʼime ụlọ ikwu ya na-abụ ọchịchịrị, oriọna nke dị nʼakụkụ ya na-anyụkwa.
7 Let the meanest of men spoil his goods, and let his counsel deceive [him].
Ike agakwaghị adị na nzọ ukwu ya; atụmatụ ya onwe ya ga-atụda ya nʼala.
8 His foot also has been caught in a snare, [and] let it be entangled in a net.
Ụkwụ ya na-eduba ya nʼọnya; ọ na-akpagharị na-adaba nʼime oghere.
9 And let snares come upon him: he shall strengthen those that thirst for his destruction.
Ọnya na-ejide ikiri ụkwụ ya, ọnya ahụ na-ejidesi ya ike.
10 His snare is hid in the earth, and that which shall take him is by the path.
E zobere ya ụdọ ọnya igbudu nʼala, ihe e ji ejide ya na-echere ya nʼụzọ ya.
11 Let pains destroy him round about, and let many [enemies] come about him,
Ihe egwu na-emenye ya ụjọ nʼakụkụ niile, na-agbasokwa nzọ ụkwụ ya niile.
12 [vex him] with distressing hunger: and a signal destruction has been prepared for him.
Ịla nʼiyi na-achọsi ya ike; mbibi nọkwa na njikere na-eche mgbe ọ ga-ada.
13 Let the soles of his feet be devoured: and death shall consume his beauty.
Mbibi na-eripịa akụkụ anụ ahụ ya; ọkpara ọnwụ na-eripịa ahụ ya niile.
14 And let health be utterly banished from his tabernacle, and let distress seize upon him with a charge from the king.
Esi na nchekwa nke ụlọ ikwu ya dọpụta ya duru ya jekwuru eze nke ihe egwu niile.
15 It shall dwell in his tabernacle in his night: his excellency shall be sown with brimstone.
Ọkụ na-ebi nʼime ụlọ ikwu ya; a ga-efesasị nkume na-enwu ọkụ nʼebe obibi ya.
16 His roots shall be dried up from beneath, and his crop shall fall away from above.
Mgbọrọgwụ ya na-akpọ nkụ nʼime ala, alaka ya ga-akpọnwụ nʼelu.
17 Let his memorial perish out of the earth, and his name shall be publicly cast out.
A gaghị echeta echiche ya nʼụwa ọzọ, o nweghị onye ọbụla na-echetakwa aha ya.
18 Let [one] drive him from light into darkness.
A na-esite nʼìhè chụba ya nʼọchịchịrị, otu a kwa, a na-achụpụkwa ya site nʼụwa.
19 He shall not be known amongst his people, nor his house preserved on the earth.
O nweghị ụmụ, o nwekwaghị ụmụ ụmụ nʼetiti ndị ya, ọ dịghị onye fọdụrụ nʼebe o bi na mbụ.
20 But strangers shall dwell in his possessions: the last groaned for him, and wonder seized the first.
Ọnọdụ ya na-eju ndị si nʼọdịda anyanwụ anya; oke egwu na-ejidekwa ndị si nʼọwụwa anyanwụ nʼihi ya.
21 These are the houses of the unrighteous, and this is the place of them that know not the Lord.
Nʼezie, otu a ka ebe obibi nke onye ajọ omume dị, ee, bụ onye ahụ nke na-amaghị Chineke.”
