Job 14
1 For a mortal born of a woman [is] short lived, and full of wrath.
೧“ಮಾನವ ಜನ್ಮ ಪಡೆದವನು, ಅಲ್ಪಾಯುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಕಳವಳದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವನು.
2 Or he falls like a flower that has bloomed; and he departs like a shadow, and can’t continue.
೨ಹೂವಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಅರಳಿ ಬಾಡುವನು, ನೆರಳಿನಂತೆ ನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವನು.
3 Hast you not taken account even of him, and caused him to enter into judgement before you?
೩ನೀನು ಇಂಥವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟು, ನಿನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವಿಯಾ?
4 For who shall be pure from uncleanness? not even one;
೪ಅಶುದ್ಧದಿಂದ ಶುದ್ಧವು ಉಂಟಾದೀತೇ? ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
5 if even his life should be [but] one day upon the earth: and his months are numbered by him: you have appointed [him] for a time, and he shall by no means exceed [it].
೫ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ದಿನಗಳು ಇಷ್ಟೇ ಎಂಬುದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ; ಅವನ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕವು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು; ದಾಟಲಾರದ ಗಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದಿ.
6 Depart from him, that he may be quiet, and take pleasure in his life, [though] as a hireling.
೬ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ವಿರಾಮವಿರಲಿ, ಕೂಲಿಯವನಿಗಿರುವಷ್ಟು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯಲಿ.
7 For there is hope for a tree, even if it should be cut down, [that] it shall blossom again, and its branch shall not fail.
೭ಕಡಿದ ಮರವೂ, ತಾನು ಮೊಳೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸದೆ, ಮತ್ತೆ ಚಿಗುರುವೆನೆಂದು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದಲ್ಲವೇ!
8 For though its root should grow old in the earth, and its stem die in the rock;
೮ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಬೇರು ಹಳೆಯದಾದರೂ, ಮಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತರೂ,
9 it will blossom from the scent of water, and will produce a crop, as one newly planted.
೯ಮಳೆ ನೀರಿನ ವಾಸನೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಅದು ಮೊಳೆತು, ಚಿಗುರಿ ಗಿಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕವಲೊಡೆಯುವುದು.
10 But a man that has died is utterly gone; and when a mortal has fallen, he is no more.
೧೦ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದರೋ ಸತ್ತು ಬೋರಲುಬೀಳುವನು, ಪ್ರಾಣಹೋಗಲು ಅವನ ಅಂತ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
11 For the sea wastes in [length of] time, and a river fails and is dried up.
೧೧ಸರೋವರದ ನೀರು ಬತ್ತುವಂತೆ, ನದಿಯ ನೀರು ಆವಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಣಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ,
12 And man that has lain down [in death] shall certainly not rise again till the heaven be dissolved, and they shall not awake from their sleep.
೧೨ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಮಲಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಏಳದೇ ಇರುವರು; ಆಕಾಶವು ಅಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವ ತನಕ ಅವರು ನಿದ್ರೆಯನ್ನು, ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
13 For oh that you had kept me in the grave, and had hidden me until your wrath should cease, and you should set me a time in which you would remember me! (Sheol h7585)
೧೩ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಪವು ಇಳಿಯುವ ವರೆಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಿ, ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಾತಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು, ನನಗೆ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡಿ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೇದು! (Sheol h7585)
14 For if a man should die, shall he live [again], having accomplished the days of his life? I will wait till I exist again?
೧೪ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸತ್ತು ಪುನಃ ಬದುಕುವನೇ? ಹಾಗಾಗುವುದಾದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ, ನನ್ನ ವಾಯಿದೆಯ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆನು.
15 Then shall you call, and I will listen to you: but do not you reject the work of your hands.
೧೫ನೀನು ಕರೆದರೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡುವೆನು, ನೀನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹುಟ್ಟೀತು.
16 But you have numbered my devices: and not one of my sins shall escape you?
೧೬ಈಗ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ಪಾಪದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾವಲಾಗಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ!
17 An you have sealed up my transgressions in a bag, and marked if I have been guilty of any transgression unawares.
೧೭ನನ್ನ ದ್ರೋಹವನ್ನು ಚೀಲದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಮುದ್ರಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ದೋಷವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ.
18 And verily a mountain falling will utterly be destroyed, and a rock shall be worn out of its place.
೧೮ಆದರೆ ಪರ್ವತವೂ ಬಿದ್ದು ಕರಗಿಹೋಗುವುದು, ಬಂಡೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಜರುಗುವುದು,
19 The waters wear the stones, and waters falling headlong [overflow] a heap of the earth: and you destroy the hope of man.
೧೯ನೀರು ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಸವೆಯಿಸುವುದು, ಜಲಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವವು. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವಿ.
20 You drive him to an end, and he is gone: you set your face against him, and send him away;
೨೦ನೀನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ಅಪಜಯವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಗತಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುವನು. ನೀನು ಅವನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ತೊಲಗಿಸಿಬಿಡುವಿ.
21 and though his children be multiplied, he knows [it] not; and if they be few, he is not aware.
೨೧ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಘನತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವುದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಅಧೋಗತಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದರೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗೋಚರವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
22 But his flesh is in pain, and his soul mourns.
೨೨ಆದರೂ ಅವನ ದೇಹದ ಕಣಕಣವು ನೋವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದು, ಅವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸುವುದು.”
