< Jeremias 6 >

1 Strengthen yourselves, you children of Benjamin, [to flee] out of the midst of Jerusalem, and sound an alarm with the trumpet in Thecue, and set up a signal over Baethacharma: for evil threatens from the north, and a great destruction is coming.
Kowos mwet Benjamin, kaing ac suk moul lowos! Kaingla liki Jerusalem! Ukya mwe ukuk in Tekoa, ac tanak sie e an in Beth Haccherem in sulkakin lah ongoiya ac kunausten akuranna tuku liki acn epang.
2 And [your] pride, O daughter of Sion, shall be taken away.
Siti Zion arulana oasku, tusruktu ac fah kunausyukla;
3 The shepherds and their flocks shall come to her; and they shall pitch [their] tents against her round about, and shall feed [their flocks] each with his hand.
tokosra uh ac fah mutangan aktuktuk we wi mwet mweun lalos. Elos ac tulokunak lohm nuknuk selos rauneak siti sac, ac kais sie selos fah aktuktuk in acn na el lungse.
4 Prepare yourselves for war against her; rise up, and let us go up against her at noon. Woe to us! for the day has gone down, for the shadows of the day fail.
Elos fah fahk, “Akola in mweuni Jerusalem! Tuyak, kut ac mweunel ke infulwen len!” Na elos sifilpa fahk, “Tari, arulana pahtlac. Fongeni pa inge.
5 Rise, and let us go up against her by night, and destroy her foundations.
Kut fah mweunel ofong. Kut ac kunausla pot ku lun siti uh.”
6 For thus says the Lord, Hew down her trees, array a numerous force against Jerusalem. O false city; [there is] all oppression in her.
LEUM GOD Kulana El sapkin tokosra inge in pakiya kutu sak ac elosak fohkon acn uh mwe fanyak nu fin pot Jerusalem. El fahk, “Nga fah kai siti se inge mweyen yokna akkeok we.
7 As a cistern cools water, so her wickedness cools her, ungodliness and misery shall be heard in her, [as] continually before her.
Oana ke sie lufin kof oasr kof sasu loac pacl nukewa, ouinge oasr ma koluk sasu in Jerusalem pacl nukewa. Nga lohng na ke akmas ac sulallal orek in siti uh. Pwayena ma nga liye pa mas ac kinet.
8 You shall be chastened, O Jerusalem, with pain and the scourge, lest my soul depart from you; lest I make you a desert land, which shall not be inhabited.
Mwet Jerusalem, lela mwe lokoalok inge in mwe akesmakye kowos. Fin tia, nga fah siskowosla. Nga ac ekulla siti lowos nu ke sie acn mwesis, sie acn ma wangin mwet muta we.”
9 For thus says the Lord, Glean, glean thoroughly as a vine the remnant of Israel: turn back [your hands] as a grape-gatherer to his basket.
LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk nu sik, “Israel ac fah wanginla mwet we oana sie ima in grape su fahko nukewa kac uh kinkinla. Ke ma inge kom enenu in molelosla nukewa su kom ku in molela ke srakna oasr pacl.”
10 To whom shall I speak, and testify, that he may listen? behold, your ears are uncircumcised, and they shall not be able to hear: behold, the word of the Lord is become to them a reproach, they will not at all desire it.
Ac nga fahk, “Su ac lohngyu nga fin kaskas nu selos in akesmakyalos? Elos likkeke ac srangesr lohng kas lom. Elos isrun ma kom sap nga in fahk.
11 And I allowed my wrath to come to full, yet I kept [it] in, and did not utterly destroy them: I will pour it out on the children without, and on the assembly of young men together: for man and woman shall be taken together, the old man with him that is full of days.
LEUM GOD, kasrkusrak lom selos firir pac in nga, ac nga koflana in sifil kutong.” Na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik, “Okoala kasrkusrak luk nu fin tulik srisrik inkanek uh, ac nu fin tukeni lun mukul fusr. Ac fah utukla pac mwet payuk nukewa, wi mwet arulana matu.
12 And their houses shall be turned to others, [with] their fields and their wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of this land, says the Lord.
Lohm selos ac ima lalos ac mutan kialos ac fah itukyang nu sin kutu pac mwet. Nga ac kalyei mwet in facl se inge.
13 For from the least of them even to the greatest they have all committed iniquity; from the priest even to the false prophet they have all wrought falsely.
Mwet nukewa, mwet fulat ac mwet srisrik, elos srike in orek mani ke inkanek kutasrik. Finne mwet palu ac mwet tol, elos kiapu pac mwet uh.
14 And they healed the breach of my people [imperfectly], making light [of it], and saying, Peace, peace, and where is peace?
Elos oru oana in ma na kuretyuki pa kinet ke mwet luk uh. Elos fahk mu, ‘Ma nukewa wo na,’ sruhk ma uh tiana wo.
15 They were ashamed because they failed; yet they were not ashamed as those who are [truly] ashamed, and they knew not their own disgrace: therefore shall they [utterly] fall when they do fall, and in the time of visitation shall they perish, said the Lord.
Ya elos mwekin ke elos oru ma srungayuk inge? Mo, elos tiana mwekin kutu srisrik. Elos tia pacna ngetnget in mwekin. Ke ma inge elos ac fah misa oana mwet misa tari. Pacl se nga kalyaelos uh, pa ingan saflaiyalos. Nga, LEUM GOD, pa fahk ma inge.”
16 Thus says the Lord, Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths of the Lord; and see what is the good way, and walk in it, and you shall find purification for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [in them].
LEUM GOD El fahk nu sin mwet lal, “Tu ke inkanek sengelik uh ac liye. Siyuk lah pia inkanek ma matu ac wo emeet uh. Fahsr kac, ac kowos fah muta in misla.” Tusruktu elos fahk, “Mo, kut ac fah tia fahsr kac!”
17 I have set watchmen over you, [saying], Hear you the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hear [it].
Na LEUM GOD El srisrngiya mwet san in porongo ke ukuk uh ac kas. Tuh elos fahk, “Kut ac tia porongo.”
18 Therefore have the nations heard, and they that feed their flocks.
Ke ma inge LEUM GOD El fahk, “Porongo, kowos mutunfacl uh, ac liye ma ac sikyak nu sin mwet luk.
19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evils upon this people, [even] the fruit of their rebellions; for they have not heeded my words, and they have rejected my law.
Lohng, O faclu! Nga ac use mwe ongoiya nu sin mwet inge in kaelos ke pwapa koluk lalos nukewa, mweyen elos srunga mwe luti luk ac tia akos kas luk.
20 Therefore do you bring me frankincense from Saba, and cinnamon from a land afar off? your whole burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices have not been pleasant to me.
Mwe mea mwe kisa keng elos use Sheba me nu yuruk, ku mwe akyuye mongo elos use yen loesla me? Nga fah tia eis mwe sang lalos, ku insewowokin mwe kisa lalos.
21 Therefore thus says the Lord, Behold, I [will] bring weakness upon this people, and the fathers and sons shall be weak together; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
Ke ma inge nga ac oru mwet inge in tukulkul ac ikori. Papa uh ac wen natulos ac fah misa, oayapa mwet kawuk ac mwet tulan.”
22 Thus says the Lord, Behold, a people comes from the north, and nations shall be stirred up from the end of the earth.
LEUM GOD El fahk, “Mwet ac fah tuku liki sie facl in acn epang. Sie mutunfacl kulana yen loesla el akola nu ke mweun.
23 They shall lay hold on bow and spear; [the people] is fierce, and will have no mercy; their voice is as the roaring sea; they shall array themselves for war against you as fire on horses and chariots, O daughter of Sion.
Elos sruok mwe pisr ac cutlass natulos; elos mwet sulallal ac wangin pakomuta lalos. Pusren kasrusr lun horse natulos oana pusren ngirngir lun meoa uh. Elos akola in mweun lain Jerusalem.”
24 We have heard the report of them: our hands are weakened: anguish has seized us, the pangs as of a woman in travail.
Na mwet Jerusalem elos fahk, “Kut lohng tari pweng ingan, ac paosr munas ac atla; kut fosrngala ac keok oana sie mutan isus.
25 Go not forth into the field, and walk not in the ways; for the sword of the enemy lingers round about.
Kut tia ku in som likin siti uh, ku forfor inkanek uh, mweyen mwet lokoalok lasr uh akoela mwe mweun natulos, ac mwe aksangeng lulap raunikutla yen nukewa.”
26 O daughter of my people, gird yourself with sackcloth: sprinkle [yourself] with ashes; make for yourself pitiable lamentation, [as] the mourning for a beloved [son]: for misery will come suddenly upon you.
LEUM GOD El fahk nu sin mwet lal, “Nokomang nuknuk yohk eoa ac ipippip in apat uh. Kowos in arulana tung ac mwemelil oana ke wen sefanna nutuwos el misa, mweyen el su tuku in sikikowosla ac fah tuku ke pacl na sa in mweuni kowos.
27 I have caused you to be tried amongst tried nations, and you shall know me when I have tried their way.
Jeremiah, srike mwet luk uh oana ke kom ac srike osra uh, kom in konauk kuiyalos.
28 [They are] all disobedient, walking perversely: [they are] brass and iron; they are all corrupted.
Elos nukewa likkeke ac lainyu na. Elos keke oana osra bronze ac iron. Elos nukewa koluk. Elos forfor ac srumun kas kikiap ke mwet.
29 The bellows have failed from the fire, the lead has failed: the silversmith works at his trade in vain; their wickedness is not consumed.
Funyu uh arulana folla, ac kutkut ke osra uh tiana kofelik in nasnasla. Ouinge wangin sripa in tayak e uh in aknasnasyela mwet luk, mweyen mwet koluk uh tiana som lukelos.
30 Call you them reprobate silver, because the Lord has rejected them.
Elos ac fah pangpang kutkut wangin sripa ma sisila, mweyen nga, LEUM GOD, siselosla.”
