Jeremias 26
1 In the beginning of the reign of king Sedekias, there came this word concerning Aelam.
Na początku królowania Joakima, syna Jozjasza, króla Judy, doszło to słowo od PANA mówiące:
2 FOR EGYPT, AGAINST THE POWER OF PHARAO NECHAO KING OF EGYPT, who was by the river Euphrates in Charmis, whom Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Joakim king of Juda.
Tak mówi PAN: Stań na dziedzińcu domu PANA i mów do wszystkich miast Judy, do tych, którzy przychodzą oddać pokłon w domu PANA, wszystkie słowa, które nakazuję ci mówić do nich; nie ujmuj [ani] słowa.
3 Take up arms and spears, and draw near to battle;
Może usłuchają i odwrócą się, każdy od swojej złej drogi, abym żałował nieszczęścia, które zamierzałem im uczynić z powodu zła ich uczynków.
4 and harness the horses: mount, you horsemen, and stand ready in your helmets; advance the spears, and put on your breastplates.
I powiesz im: Tak mówi PAN: Jeśli mnie nie usłuchacie, by postępować według mojego prawa, które wam przedłożyłem;
5 Why do they fear, and turn back? even because their mighty men shall be slain: they have utterly fled, and being hemmed in they have not rallied, says the Lord.
By słuchać słów moich sług, proroków, których posłałem do was, z wczesnym wstawaniem i przesłaniem, a przecież nie usłuchaliście;
6 Let not the swift flee, and let not the mighty man escape to the north: the [forces] at Euphrates are become feeble, and they have fallen.
Wtedy postąpię z tym domem tak jak z Szilo, a to miasto uczynię przekleństwem dla wszystkich narodów ziemi.
7 Who is this [that] shall come up as a river, and as rivers roll [their] waves?
A kapłani i prorocy oraz cały lud słyszeli Jeremiasza mówiącego te słowa w domu PANA.
8 The waters of Egypt shall come up like a river: and he said, I will go up, and will cover the earth, and will destroy the dwellers in it.
A gdy Jeremiasz skończył mówić wszystko, co PAN mu nakazał powiedzieć całemu ludowi, pojmali go ci kapłani i prorocy oraz cały lud, mówiąc: Musisz umrzeć.
9 Mount you the horses, prepare the chariots; go forth, you warriors of the Ethiopians, and Libyans armed with shields; and mount, you Lydians, bend the bow.
Czemu prorokowałeś w imię PANA, głosząc: Z tym domem stanie się jak z Szilo, a to miasto tak spustoszeje, że nie będzie w nim mieszkańca? I zgromadził się cały lud przeciwko Jeremiaszowi w domu PANA.
10 And that day [shall be] to the Lord our God a day of vengeance, to take vengeance on his enemies: and the sword of the Lord shall devour, and be glutted, and be drunken with their blood: for the Lord [has] a sacrifice from the land of the north at the river Euphrates.
Gdy książęta Judy usłyszeli te rzeczy, przyszli z domu królewskiego do domu PANA i zasiedli u wejścia nowej bramy PANA.
11 Go up to Galaad, and take balm for the virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain have you multiplied your medicines; there is no help in you.
Wtedy kapłani i prorocy powiedzieli do książąt i do całego ludu: Ten człowiek zasługuje na śmierć, bo prorokował przeciwko temu miastu, jak to słyszeliście na własne uszy.
12 The nations have heard your voice, and the land has been filled with your cry: for the warriors have fainted fighting one against another, [and] both are fallen together.
Jeremiasz zaś odezwał się do wszystkich książąt i do całego ludu, mówiąc: PAN mnie posłał, abym prorokował przeciw temu domowi i przeciw temu miastu to wszystko, co słyszeliście.
13 THE WORDS WHICH THE LORD SPOKE by Jeremias, concerning the coming of the king of Babylon to strike the land of Egypt.
Dlatego teraz poprawcie swoje drogi i swoje uczynki i usłuchajcie głosu PANA, swego Boga, a pożałuje PAN tego nieszczęścia, jakie zapowiedział przeciwko wam.
14 Proclaim [it] at Magdol, and declare [it] at Memphis: say you, Stand up, and prepare; for the sword has devoured your yew tree.
Co do mnie, ja jestem w waszych rękach, czyńcie ze mną to, co dobre i sprawiedliwe w waszych oczach.
15 Therefore has Apis fled from you? your choice calf has not remained; for the Lord has utterly weakened him.
Wiedzcie jednak na pewno – jeśli mnie zabijecie, ściągniecie krew niewinną na siebie, na to miasto i na jego mieszkańców. Naprawdę bowiem PAN posłał mnie do was, abym mówił te wszystkie słowa do waszych uszu.
16 And your multitude has fainted and fallen; and each one said to his neighbour, Let us arise, and return into our country to our people, from the Grecian sword.
Wtedy książęta i cały lud powiedzieli do kapłanów i do proroków: Ten człowiek nie zasługuje na śmierć, ponieważ przemawiał do nas w imię PANA, naszego Boga.
17 Call you the name of Pharao Nechao king of Egypt, Saon esbeie moed.
Powstali też niektórzy ze starszych tej ziemi i powiedzieli do całego zgromadzenia ludu:
18 [As] I live, says the Lord God, he shall come as Itabyrion amongst the mountains, and as Carmel that is on the sea.
Micheasz z Moreszet prorokował za dni Ezechiasza, króla Judy, i mówił do całego ludu Judy: Tak mówi PAN zastępów: Syjon będzie zaorany jak pole, Jerozolima stanie się rumowiskiem, a góra tego domu – jak zalesione wzgórze.
19 O daughter of Egypt dwelling [at home], prepare you stuff for removing: for Memphis shall be utterly desolate, and shall be called Woe, because there are no inhabitants in it.
Czy zabił go Ezechiasz, król Judy, i Juda? Czy nie ulękli się PANA i nie modlili się do PANA tak, że PAN żałował tego nieszczęścia, jakie zapowiedział przeciwko nim? Przecież ściągniemy na nasze dusze wielkie nieszczęście.
20 Egypt is a fair heifer, [but] destruction from the north is come upon her.
Był także człowiek, który prorokował w imię PANA, Uriasz, syn Szemajasza, z Kiriat-Jearim. Prorokował on przeciwko temu miastu i przeciwko tej ziemi zgodnie ze wszystkimi słowami Jeremiasza.
21 Also her hired [soldiers] in the midst of her are as fatted calves fed in her; for they also have turned, and fled with one accord: they stood not, for the day of destruction was come upon them, and the time of their retribution.
A gdy król Joakim, wszyscy jego wojownicy i wszyscy książęta usłyszeli jego słowa, król usiłował go zabić. Lecz gdy Uriasz o tym usłyszał, zląkł się, uciekł i przybył do Egiptu.
22 Their voice is as [that] of a hissing serpent, for they go upon the sand; they shall come upon Egypt with axes, as men that cut wood.
Ale król Joakim posłał ludzi do Egiptu: Elnatana, syna Akbora, i innych razem z nim do Egiptu.
23 They shall cut down her forest, says the Lord, for [their number] can’t at all be conjectured, for it exceeds the locust in multitude, and they are innumerable.
Ci sprowadzili Uriasza z Egiptu i przyprowadzili go do króla Joakima, a ten zabił go mieczem i wrzucił jego zwłoki do grobów pospólstwa.
24 The daughter of Egypt is confounded; she is delivered into the hands of a people from the north.
Natomiast ręka Achikama, syna Szafana, była przy Jeremiaszu, aby nie został wydany w ręce ludu i nie został zabity.
25 Behold, I [will] avenge Ammon her son upon Pharao, and upon them that trust in him.
27 But fear not you, my servant Jacob, neither be you alarmed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be at ease, and sleep, and there shall be no one to trouble him.
28 Fear not you, my servant Jacob, says the Lord; for I am with you: she [that was] without fear and in luxury, has been delivered up: for I will make a full end of every nation amongst whom I have thrust you forth; but I will not cause you to fail: yet will I chastise you in the way of judgement, and will not hold you entirely guiltless.
