Jeremias 26
1 In the beginning of the reign of king Sedekias, there came this word concerning Aelam.
| در اوایل سلطنت یهویاقیم (پسر یوشیا) پادشاه یهودا، این پیغام از طرف خداوند بر من نازل شد: |
2 FOR EGYPT, AGAINST THE POWER OF PHARAO NECHAO KING OF EGYPT, who was by the river Euphrates in Charmis, whom Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Joakim king of Juda.
| «در صحن خانهٔ خداوند بایست و سخنان مرا بدون کم و کاست به تمام کسانی که از نقاط مختلف سرزمین یهودا برای عبادت آمده‌اند، اعلام نما. |
3 Take up arms and spears, and draw near to battle;
| شاید گوش بدهند و از راههای بد خود بازگردند و من نیز از تمام مجازاتهایی که به سبب اعمال بدشان برای ایشان در نظر گرفته‌ام، چشم‌پوشی نمایم. |
4 and harness the horses: mount, you horsemen, and stand ready in your helmets; advance the spears, and put on your breastplates.
| «این است سخنانی که باید به ایشان اعلام نمایی:”من خدمتگزارانم انبیا را همواره نزد شما فرستاده‌ام، ولی شما به سخنان آنها گوش نداده‌اید. حال اگر به نااطاعتی خود ادامه دهید و دستورهایی را که به شما داده‌ام، اجرا نکنید و به سخنان انبیا توجه ننمایید، |
5 Why do they fear, and turn back? even because their mighty men shall be slain: they have utterly fled, and being hemmed in they have not rallied, says the Lord.
6 Let not the swift flee, and let not the mighty man escape to the north: the [forces] at Euphrates are become feeble, and they have fallen.
| آنگاه همان‌طور که خیمهٔ عبادت را در شهر شیلوه از بین بردم، این خانهٔ عبادت را نیز از بین خواهم برد و اورشلیم مورد نفرین تمام قومهای جهان واقع خواهد شد.“» |
7 Who is this [that] shall come up as a river, and as rivers roll [their] waves?
| هنگامی که من پیغام خود را به گوش مردم رساندم و هر آنچه را که خداوند به من فرموده بود بازگو کردم، کاهنان و انبیای دروغین و مردم بر سر من ریختند و فریاد برآوردند: «تو باید کشته شوی! |
8 The waters of Egypt shall come up like a river: and he said, I will go up, and will cover the earth, and will destroy the dwellers in it.
9 Mount you the horses, prepare the chariots; go forth, you warriors of the Ethiopians, and Libyans armed with shields; and mount, you Lydians, bend the bow.
| به چه حقی می‌گویی که خداوند این عبادتگاه را مانند خیمهٔ عبادت شیلوه خراب خواهد کرد و اورشلیم را ویران و متروک خواهد ساخت؟» در این هنگام مردم از هر طرف دور من جمع شده بودند. |
10 And that day [shall be] to the Lord our God a day of vengeance, to take vengeance on his enemies: and the sword of the Lord shall devour, and be glutted, and be drunken with their blood: for the Lord [has] a sacrifice from the land of the north at the river Euphrates.
| وقتی بزرگان یهودا از جریان باخبر شدند، خود را به شتاب از کاخ سلطنتی به خانهٔ خداوند رساندند و بر جایگاه مخصوص خود، در محوطهٔ دروازهٔ جدید نشستند تا به این امر رسیدگی کنند. |
11 Go up to Galaad, and take balm for the virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain have you multiplied your medicines; there is no help in you.
| آنگاه کاهنان و انبیای دروغین، ادعای خود را در حضور بزرگان و مردم عنوان کرده، گفتند: «شما به گوش خود شنیده‌اید که این شخص، دربارهٔ این شهر چه پیشگویی‌هایی کرده و پی برده‌اید که چه آدم خائنی است! بنابراین او باید اعدام شود.» |
12 The nations have heard your voice, and the land has been filled with your cry: for the warriors have fainted fighting one against another, [and] both are fallen together.
| من در دفاع از خود گفتم: «خداوند مرا فرستاده تا علیه این عبادتگاه و این شهر پیشگویی کنم؛ من هر چه گفته‌ام، همه از جانب خداوند بوده است. |
13 THE WORDS WHICH THE LORD SPOKE by Jeremias, concerning the coming of the king of Babylon to strike the land of Egypt.
| ولی اگر شما روش زندگی و اعمال خود را اصلاح کنید و خداوند، خدای خود را اطاعت نمایید، او نیز مجازاتی را که برای شما در نظر گرفته است، اجرا نخواهد کرد. |
14 Proclaim [it] at Magdol, and declare [it] at Memphis: say you, Stand up, and prepare; for the sword has devoured your yew tree.
| و اما من، در اختیار شما هستم؛ هر طور که صلاح می‌دانید، با من رفتار کنید. |
15 Therefore has Apis fled from you? your choice calf has not remained; for the Lord has utterly weakened him.
| ولی اگر مرا بکشید، یقین بدانید که شخص بی‌گناهی را به قتل رسانده‌اید و خون من به گردن شما و این شهر و تمامی اهالی آن خواهد بود، زیرا براستی خداوند مرا نزد شما فرستاده تا این پیغام را به شما اعلام نمایم.» |
16 And your multitude has fainted and fallen; and each one said to his neighbour, Let us arise, and return into our country to our people, from the Grecian sword.
| پس مردم و بزرگان قوم به کاهنان و انبیای دروغین گفتند: «این مرد را نمی‌توان محکوم به مرگ کرد، چون به نام خداوند، خدای ما، با ما سخن گفته است.» |
17 Call you the name of Pharao Nechao king of Egypt, Saon esbeie moed.
| آنگاه چند نفر از مشایخ قوم برخاستند و به مردم گفتند: |
18 [As] I live, says the Lord God, he shall come as Itabyrion amongst the mountains, and as Carmel that is on the sea.
| «این تصمیم خوبی است! در گذشته نیز میکای مورشتی در زمان حِزِقیا، پادشاه یهودا، پیشگویی کرده، به مردم یهودا گفت:”خداوند لشکرهای آسمان چنین می‌فرماید: اورشلیم مانند مزرعه‌ای که شخم زده می‌شود، زیر و رو و با خاک یکسان خواهد گردید و در محلی که خانهٔ خدا برپاست، جنگلی به وجود خواهد آمد!“ |
19 O daughter of Egypt dwelling [at home], prepare you stuff for removing: for Memphis shall be utterly desolate, and shall be called Woe, because there are no inhabitants in it.
| آیا حِزِقیا پادشاه یهودا یا کسی دیگر در یهودا، نبی خدا را برای این سخنان کشتند؟ نه بلکه به کلام خداوند احترام گذاشتند و از آن اطاعت نمودند و به خداوند التماس کردند که به ایشان رحم کند؛ خداوند هم از مجازاتی که برای ایشان در نظر گرفته بود، چشم‌پوشی کرد. حال اگر ما ارمیا را به خاطر اعلام پیغام خدا بکشیم، خدا بلای عظیمی بر ما نازل خواهد کرد!» |
20 Egypt is a fair heifer, [but] destruction from the north is come upon her.
| (نبی دیگری که در آن زمان مانند ارمیا، کلام خداوند را علیه اورشلیم و سرزمین یهودا اعلام می‌کرد، اوریا (پسر شمعیا) اهل قریهٔ یعاریم بود. |
21 Also her hired [soldiers] in the midst of her are as fatted calves fed in her; for they also have turned, and fled with one accord: they stood not, for the day of destruction was come upon them, and the time of their retribution.
| وقتی سخنان او به گوش یهویاقیم پادشاه، و سرداران و بزرگان رسید، پادشاه فرستاد تا او را بکشند؛ ولی اوریا خبردار شد و به مصر گریخت. |
22 Their voice is as [that] of a hissing serpent, for they go upon the sand; they shall come upon Egypt with axes, as men that cut wood.
| یهویاقیم پادشاه نیز الناتان (پسر عکبور) را با چند نفر دیگر به مصر فرستاد تا اوریا را دستگیر کنند. |
23 They shall cut down her forest, says the Lord, for [their number] can’t at all be conjectured, for it exceeds the locust in multitude, and they are innumerable.
| آنها او را گرفته پیش یهویاقیم پادشاه بازگرداندند. یهویاقیم دستور داد او را با شمشیر بکشند و جنازه‌اش را در قبرستان عمومی بیندازند.) |
24 The daughter of Egypt is confounded; she is delivered into the hands of a people from the north.
| ولی اخیقام (پسر شافان) از من پشتیبانی کرد و نگذاشت بزرگان قوم مرا به دست مردم بسپارند تا کشته شوم. |
25 Behold, I [will] avenge Ammon her son upon Pharao, and upon them that trust in him.
27 But fear not you, my servant Jacob, neither be you alarmed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be at ease, and sleep, and there shall be no one to trouble him.
28 Fear not you, my servant Jacob, says the Lord; for I am with you: she [that was] without fear and in luxury, has been delivered up: for I will make a full end of every nation amongst whom I have thrust you forth; but I will not cause you to fail: yet will I chastise you in the way of judgement, and will not hold you entirely guiltless.
