Jeremias 19
1 Then said the Lord to me, Go and get an earthen bottle, the work of the potter, and you shall bring [some] of the elders of the people, and of the priests;
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം കല്പിച്ചു: നീ പോയി കുശവനോടു ഒരു മൺകുടം വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങി ജനത്തിന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരിലും പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരിലും ചിലരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു
2 and you shall go forth to the burial-place of the sons of their children, which is at the entrance of the gate of Charsith; and do you read there all these words which I shall speak to you:
ഹർസീത്ത് (ഓട്ടുനുറുക്കു) വാതിലിന്റെ പുറമെയുള്ള ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്‌വരയിൽ ചെന്നു, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്ന വാക്കുകളെ അവിടെ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതു:
3 and you shall say to them, Hear you the word of the Lord, you kings of Juda, and men of Juda, and the dwellers in Jerusalem, and they that enter in by these gates; thus says the Lord God of Israel; Behold, I [will] bring evil upon this place, so that the ears of every one that hears it shall tingle.
യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരും യെരൂശലേം നിവസികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ! യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: കേൾക്കുന്നവന്റെ ചെവി മുഴങ്ങത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഒരനർത്ഥം വരുത്തും.
4 Because they forsook me, and profaned this place, and burnt incense in it to strange gods, which they and their fathers knew not; and the kings of Juda have filled this place with innocent blood,
അവർ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, ഈ സ്ഥലത്തെ വഷളാക്കി, തങ്ങളും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദേവന്മാർക്കു അവിടെവെച്ചു ധൂപംകാട്ടി, ഈ സ്ഥലത്തെ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവരുടെ രക്തംകൊണ്ടു നിറെക്കയും
5 and built high places for Baal, to burn their children in the fire, which things I commanded not, neither did I design [them] in my heart:
ബാലിന്നു ഹോമബലികളായി തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെ തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ദഹിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ബാലിന്നു പൂജാഗിരികളെ പണികയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. അതു ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല, എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ വന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.
6 Therefore, behold, the days come, says the Lord, when this place shall no more be called, The fall and burial-place of the son of Ennom, but, The burial-place of slaughter.
അതുകൊണ്ടു ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഇനി തോഫെത്ത് എന്നും ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോംതാഴ്‌വര എന്നും പേരുപറയാതെ കൊലത്താഴ്‌വര എന്നു പേരുപറയുന്ന കാലം വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
7 And I will destroy the counsel of Juda and the counsel of Jerusalem in this place; and I will cast them down with the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and I will give their dead bodies for food to the birds of the sky and to the wild beasts of the earth.
അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു യെഹൂദയുടെയും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെയും ആലോചനയെ നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കും; ഞാൻ അവരെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വാൾകൊണ്ടും അവർക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൈകൊണ്ടും വീഴുമാറാക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങളെ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കും കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഇരയാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
8 And I will bring this city to desolation and [make it] a hissing; every one that passes by it shall scowl, and hiss because of all her plague.
ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ സ്തംഭനത്തിന്നും പരിഹാസത്തിന്നും വിഷയമാക്കിത്തീർക്കും; അതിന്നരികെ കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും സ്തംഭിച്ചു അതിന്നു നേരിട്ട സകലബാധകളുംനിമിത്തം ചൂളകുത്തും.
9 And they shall eat the flesh of their sons, and the flesh of their daughters; and they shall eat every one the flesh of his neighbour in the blockade, and in the siege wherewith their enemies shall besiege them.
അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളും അവർക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവരും അവരെ ഞെരുക്കുന്ന ഞെരുക്കത്തിലും നിരോധത്തിലും ഞാൻ അവരെ സ്വന്ത പുത്രന്മാരുടെ മാംസവും പുത്രിമാരുടെ മാംസവും തിന്നുമാറാക്കും; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നും.
10 And you shall break the bottle in the sight of the men that go forth with you,
പിന്നെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പോന്ന പുരുഷന്മാർ കാൺകെ നീ ആ മൺകുടും ഉടെച്ചു അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
11 and you shall say, Thus says the Lord, Thus will I break in pieces this people, and this city, even as an earthen vessel is broken in pieces which can’t be mended again.
സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നന്നാക്കിക്കൂടാതവണ്ണം കുശവന്റെ പാത്രം ഉടെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തെയും ഈ നഗരത്തെയും ഉടെച്ചുകളയും. അടക്കം ചെയ്‌വാൻ വേറെ സ്ഥലമില്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെ തോഫെത്തിൽ അടക്കംചെയ്യും.
12 Thus will I do, says the Lord, to this place, and to the inhabitants of it, that this city may be given up, as one that is falling to ruin.
ഇങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തോടും അതിലെ നിവാസികളോടും ചെയ്യും; ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തെ തോഫെത്തിന്നു സമമാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.
13 And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Juda shall be as a ruinous place, because of their uncleannesses in all the houses, wherein they burnt incense upon their roofs to all the host of heaven, and poured drink-offerings to strange gods.
മലിനമായിരിക്കുന്ന യെരൂശലേംവീടുകളും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അരമനകളും അവർ മേല്പുരകളിൽവെച്ചു ആകാശത്തിലെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തിന്നും ധൂപം കാണിക്കയും അന്യദേവന്മാർക്കു പാനീയബലി പകരുകയും ചെയ്ത എല്ലാ വീടുകളും തന്നേ തോഫെത്ത് എന്ന സ്ഥലംപോലെയാകും.
14 And Jeremias came from [the place] of the Fall, whither the Lord had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of the Lord's house: and said to all the people, Thus says the Lord;
അനന്തരം യിരെമ്യാവു യഹോവ തന്നെ പ്രവചിപ്പാൻ അയിച്ചിരുന്ന തോഫെത്തിൽനിന്നു വന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരത്തിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു സകലജനത്തോടും:
15 Behold I bring upon this city, and upon all the cities belonging to it, and upon the villages of it, all the evils which I have spoken against it, because they have hardened their neck, [that they might not] listen to my commands.
യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അവർ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾക്കാതെ ശാഠ്യംപിടിച്ചിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നു വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന അനർത്ഥം ഒക്കെയും അതിന്നു അതിന്നടുത്ത എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കും വരുത്തും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
