Jeremias 14
1 AND THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO JEREMIAS CONCERNING THE DROUGHT.
खडेरीको सम्बन्धमा यर्मियाकहाँ आएको परमप्रभुको वचन यही हो,
2 Judea has mourned, and her gates are emptied, and are darkened upon the earth; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
“यहूदाले शोक गरोस् । त्यसका मूला ढोकाहरू भाँचिऊन् । तिनीहरू देशको लागि विलाप गर्दैछन् । यरूशलेमको निम्ति तिनीहरूको क्रन्दन माथि जाँदैछ ।
3 And her nobles have sent their little ones to the water: they came to the wells, and found no water: and brought back their vessels empty.
तिनीहरूका शक्तिशाली मानिसहरूले आफ्ना नोकरहरूलाई पानीको लागि बाहिर पठाउँछन् । जब तिनीहरू कुवामा जान्छन् तब तिनीहरूले पानी पाउन सक्दैनन् । तिनीहरू असफल भएर फर्कन्छन् । तिनीहरू लज्जित र बेइजत आफ्ना शिर ढाक्छन् ।
4 And the labours of the land failed, because there was no rain: the husbandmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
देशमा पानी नपरेको हुनाले, जमिन चिराचिरा परेको छ । हलो जोत्नेहरू लज्जित भएका छन् र आफ्ना शिर ढाक्छन् ।
5 And hinds calved in the field, and forsook [it], because there was no grass.
घाँस नभएकोले मुडुली मृगले पनि आफ्ना बच्चाहरूलाई मैदानमा छोड्छ र तिनलाई त्यगिदिन्छ ।
6 The wild asses stood by the forests, and snuffed up the wind; their eyes failed, because there was no grass.
जङ्गली गधाहरू नाङ्गा मैदानहरूमा खडा हुन्छन्, र तिनीहरू स्यालझैं हाँप्छन् । हरियो खर्क नभएको कारणले तिनीहरूका आँखा तिरमिराउँछन् ।”
7 Our sins have risen up against us: O Lord, do you for us for your own sake; for our sins are many before you; for we have sinned against you.
हे परमप्रभु, हाम्रा अधर्मले हाम्रो विरुद्धमा गवाही दिए तापनि तपाईंकै नाउँको नाम्ति काम गर्नुहोस् । किनकि हाम्रा विश्वासहीन कामहरू वृद्धि हुन्छन् । हामीले तपाईंको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेका छौं ।
8 O Lord, [you are] the hope of Israel, and deliver [us] in time of troubles; why are you become as a sojourner upon the land, or as one born in the land, yet turning aside for a resting-place?
तपाईं नै इस्राएलको आशा हुनुहुन्छ, जसले सङ्कष्टको समयमा त्यसलाई बचाउनुहुन्छ । पाल टाँग्ने र एक रातको निम्ति मात्र बस्ने अपरिचित परदेशीजस्तै तपाईं यस देशमा किन बन्नुहुन्छ?
9 Will you be as a man asleep, or as a [strong] man that can’t save? yet you are amongst us, O Lord, and your name is called upon us; forget us not.
तपाईं किन आश्चर्यमा परेको मानिसझैं व छुटकाराको निम्ति शक्ति नभएको योद्धाजस्तै हुनुहुन्छ? हे परमप्रभु, तपाईं हाम्रा बिचमा हुनुहुन्छ, र हाम्रा बिचमा तपाईंकै नाउँ पुकारिन्छ । हामीलाई नत्याग्नुहोस् ।
10 Thus says the Lord to this people, They have loved to wander, and they have not spared, therefore God has not prospered them; now will he remember their iniquity.
परमप्रभु आफ्ना मानिसलाई यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, “तिनीहरू बरालिन मन पराउने भएको हुनाले त्यसो गर्नदेखि तिनीहरूले आफ्ना खुट्टालाई रोकेका छैनन् ।” परमप्रभु तिनीहरूसित खुसी हुनुहुन्न । अब उहाँले तिनीहरूका अधर्म सम्झनुभएको छ, र तिनीहरूका पापलाई दण्ड दिनुभएको छ ।
11 And the Lord said to me, Pray not for this people for [their] good:
परमप्रभुले मलाई यसो भन्नुभयो, “यी मानिसहरूको पक्षमा भलाइको निम्ति प्रार्थना नगर् ।
12 for though they fast, I will not hear their supplication; and though they offer whole burnt offerings and sacrifices, I will take no pleasure in them: for I will consume them with sword, and with famine, and with pestilence.
किनकि तिनीहरूले उपवास बसे भने म तिनीहरूका विलाप सुन्नेछैनँ, अनि तिनीहरूले होमबलि र अन्नबलि चढाए भने म तिनमा खुशी हुनेछैन । किनकि तरवार, अनिकाल र विपत्तिले म तिनीहरूको अन्त्य ल्याउनेछु ।”
13 And I said, O [ever] living Lord! behold, their prophets prophesy, and say, You shall not see a sword, nor shall famine be amongst you; for I will give truth and peace on the land, and in this place.
तब मैले भनें, “हे परमप्रभु परमेश्वर, हेर्नुहोस्, अगमवक्ताहरूले मानिसहरूलाई भन्दैछन्, 'तिमीहरूले तरवार देख्नेछैनौ । तिमीहरूका निम्ति अनिकाल पर्नेछैन, किनकि म यस ठाउँमा तिमीहरूलाई साँचो सुरक्षा दिनेछु' ।”
14 Then the Lord said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, and I commanded them not, and I spoke not to them: for they prophesy to you false visions, and divinations, and auguries, and devices of their own heart.
परमप्रभुले मलाई भन्नुभयो, “अगमवक्ताहरूले मेरो नाउँमा छलको अगमवाणी बोल्छन् । मैले तिनीहरूलाई पठाइनँ, न मैले तिनीहरूलाई कुनै आज्ञा दिएँ वा तिनीहरूसित बोलेँ । तर छली दर्शन र बेकम्मा, छली मन्त्रतन्त्र तिनीहरूका आफ्नै समझबाट आएका हुन्, जुन तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूलाई अगमवाणी बोल्दैछन् ।”
15 Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets that prophesy lies in my name, and I sent them not, who say, Sword and famine shall not be upon this land; they shall die by a grievous death, and the prophets shall be consumed by famine.
त्यसकारण परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छ, “मैले नपठाएका अगमवक्ताहरू जसले मेरो नाउँमा अगमवाणी बोल्छन्, जसले यस देशमा कुनै तरवार वा अनिकाल पर्नेछैन भन्छन्, यी अगमवक्ताहरू तरवार र अनिकालले नष्ट पारिनेछन् ।
16 And the people to whom they prophesy, they also shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, because of the sword and famine; and there shall be none to bury them: their wives also, and their sons, and their daughters [shall die thus]; and I will pour out their wickedness upon them.
त्यसपछि ती मानिसहरू जसलाई तिनीहरूले अगमवाणी बोले, तिनीहरू अनिकाल र तरवारको कारणले यरूशलेमका सडकहरूमा फ्याँकिनेछन्, किनकि त्यहाँ तिनीहरू, तिनीहरूका पत्नीहरू, छोराछोरीलाई गाड्ने कोही हुने छैनन्, किनकि म तिनीहरूका दुष्टता तिनीहरूमाथि नै खन्याउनेछु ।
17 And you shall speak this word to them; Let your eyes shed tears day and night, and let them not cease: for the daughter of my people has been sorely bruised, and her plague is very grievous.
तिनीहरूलाई यो वचन भन्, ‘मेरा आँखाबाट दिनरात आँसु बगिरहोस् । त्यसलाई नरोक्, किनकि मेरो जातिकी कन्याको ठुलो विनाश हुनेछ । त्यसले ठुलो र निको नहुने चोट पाउनेछ ।
18 If I go forth into the plain, then behold the slain by the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold the distress of famine! for priest and prophet have gone to a land which they knew not.
म मैदानमा गएँ भने, त्यहाँ तरवारले मारिएकाहरू हुन्छन् । म सहरमा आएँ भने, त्यहाँ अनिकालले ल्याएका रोगहरू हुन्छन् । अगमवक्ता र पुजारी दुवै देशको यताउता बरालिन्छन्, र तिनीहरूलाई थाहैछैन' ।”
19 Hast you utterly rejected Juda? and has your soul departed from Sion? therefore has you struck us, and there is no healing for us? we waited for peace, but there was no prosperity; for a time of healing, and behold trouble!
के तपाईंले यहूदालाई बिलकुलै इन्कार गर्नुभएको हो? के तपाईं सियोनलाई घृणा गर्नुहुन्छ? जब हामी निको हुनुछैन भने किन तपाईं हामीलाई कष्ट दिनुहुन्छ? हामीले शान्तिको आशा गर्यौँ, तर त्यहाँ कुनै असल कुरा थिएन र निको हुने समय थिएन, तर हेर्नुहोस् त्यहाँ त्रास मात्र छ ।
20 We know, O Lord, our sins, [and] the iniquities of our fathers: for we have sinned before you.
हे परमप्रभु, हामी हाम्रा दोष, हाम्रा पुर्खाहरूका अपराध स्वीकार गर्छौं, किनकि हामीले तपाईंको विरुद्धमा पाप गरेका छौं ।
21 Refrain for your name's sake, destroy not the throne of your glory: remember, break not your covenant with us.
हामीलाई नत्याग्नुहोस् । तपाईंको नाउँको निम्ति तपाईंको महिमित सिंहासनलाई अपमानित नगर्नुहोस् । हामीसित बाँध्नुभएको आफ्नो करार सम्झनुहोस्, र त्यसलाई नतोड्नुहोस् ।
22 Is there any one amongst the idols of the Gentiles that can give rain? and will the sky yield his fulness [at their bidding]? Are not you he? we will even wait on you, O Lord: for you have made all these things.
के जातिहरूका कुनै बेकम्मा मूर्तिले वर्षा ल्याउँछ सक्छ र? वा के आकाश आफैले झरी पठाउँछ? हे परमप्रभु तपाईं नै हाम्रा परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्न र? हामीले तपाईंमा प्रतीक्षा गर्छौं, किनकि यी सबै कुरा गर्नुहुने तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्छ ।
