Esias 59
1 Has the hand of the Lord no power to save? or has he made his ear heavy, so that he should not hear?
| ای مردم فکر نکنید که خداوند ضعیف شده و دیگر نمی‌تواند شما را نجات دهد. گوش او سنگین نیست؛ او دعاهای شما را می‌شنود. |
2 Nay, your iniquities separate between you and God, and because of your sins has he turned away [his] face from you, so as not to have mercy [upon you].
| اما گناهان شما باعث شده او با شما قطع رابطه کند و دعاهای شما را جواب ندهد. |
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with sins; your lips also have spoken iniquity, and your tongue meditates unrighteousness.
| دستهای شما به خون آلوده است و انگشتهایتان به گناه. لبهای شما سخنان دروغ می‌گوید و از زبانتان حرفهای زشت شنیده می‌شود. |
4 None speaks justly, neither is there true judgement: they trust in vanities, and speak empty [words]; for they conceive trouble, and bring forth iniquity.
| کسی در دادگاه عدالت را اجرا نمی‌کند و مردم با دروغهای خود رأی دادگاه را به نفع خود تغییر می‌دهند. به شرارت آبستن می‌شوند و گناه می‌زایند. |
5 They have hatched asps' eggs, and weave a spider's web: and he that is going to eat of their eggs, having crushed an addled egg, has found also in it a basilisk.
| نقشهٔ شومشان مانند تخم افعی است که وقتی شکسته می‌شود افعی از آن بیرون می‌آید و مردم را به هلاکت می‌رساند! اما نقشه‌هایشان عملی نخواهند شد و هیچ فایده‌ای به ایشان نخواهند رسانید. آنها مانند لباسی هستند که از تار عنکبوت بافته شده باشند. |
6 Their web shall not become a garment, nor shall they at all clothe themselves with their works; for their works are works of iniquity.
7 And their feet run to wickedness, swift to shed blood; their thoughts also are thoughts of murder; destruction and misery are in their ways;
| پاهایشان برای شرارت می‌دوند و برای ریختن خون بی‌گناهان می‌شتابند! هر جا می‌روند ویرانی و خرابی برجای می‌گذارند. |
8 and the way of peace they know not, neither is there judgement in their ways; for their paths by which they go are crooked, and they know not peace.
| آنها عاری از صلح و آرامش‌اند. تمام کارهایشان از روی بی‌انصافی است. راههایشان کج هستند، و هر که در آنها قدم بگذارد از آسایش برخوردار نخواهد شد. |
9 Therefore has judgement departed from them, and righteousness shall not overtake them: while they waited for light, darkness came upon them; while they waited for brightness, they walked in perplexity.
| مردم می‌گویند: «الان فهمیدیم چرا خدا ما را از دست دشمنانمان نجات نمی‌دهد و چرا هنگامی که در انتظار نور بودیم، تاریکی به سراغمان آمد! |
10 They shall feel for the wall as blind [men], and shall feel [for it] as if they had no eyes: and they shall feel at noon-day as at midnight; they shall groan as dying men.
| مانند اشخاص نابینا، کورمال کورمال راه می‌رویم و در روز روشن جایی را نمی‌بینیم و به زمین می‌افتیم؛ گویی در دنیای مردگان زندگی می‌کنیم! |
11 They shall proceed together as a bear and as a dove: we have waited for judgement, and there is no salvation, it is gone far from us.
| همهٔ ما همچون خرسهای گرسنه خرناس می‌کشیم و مانند فاخته‌ها می‌نالیم. به خداوند روی می‌آوریم تا ما را نجات دهد، اما بی‌فایده است؛ زیرا او از ما روگردان شده است. |
12 For our iniquity is great before you, and our sins have risen up against us: for our iniquities are in us, and we know our unrighteous deeds.
| گناهانی که نسبت به خداوند مرتکب شده‌ایم در حضور او روی هم انباشته شده و علیه ما شهادت می‌دهند. «ای خداوند، می‌دانیم که گناهکاریم. |
13 We have sinned, and dealt falsely, and revolted from our God: we have spoken unrighteous words, and have been disobedient; we have conceived and uttered from our heart unrighteous words.
| ما تو را ترک گفته و رد کرده‌ایم و از پیروی تو دست برداشته‌ایم. ما ظالم و یاغی هستیم. فکرهای ما کج است و حرفهای ما پر از دروغ. |
14 And we have turned judgement back, and righteousness has departed afar off: for truth is consumed in their ways, and they could not pass by a straight [path].
| انصاف را زیر پا گذاشته‌ایم؛ عدالت را از خود رانده‌ایم؛ حقیقت را در کوچه‌ها انداخته‌ایم و صداقت را به بوتهٔ فراموشی سپرده‌ایم. |
15 And truth has been taken away, and they have turned aside [their] mind from understanding. And the Lord saw it, and it pleased him not that there was no judgement.
| راستی از بین رفته است؛ و هر که بخواهد از ناراستی دوری کند، مورد سرزنش واقع می‌شود.» خداوند تمام این بدیها را دیده و غمگین است. |
16 And he looked, and there was no man, and he observed, and there was none to help: so he defended them with his arm, and established [them] with [his] mercy.
| او تعجب می‌کند که چرا کسی نیست به داد مظلومان برسد. پس او خود آماده می‌شود تا ایشان را نجات دهد، زیرا او خدای عادلی است. |
17 And he put on righteousness as a breast-plate, and placed the helmet of salvation on his head; and he clothed himself with the garment of vengeance, and with his cloak,
| خداوند عدالت را مانند زره می‌پوشد و کلاهخود نجات را بر سر می‌گذارد. سراسر وجود او آکنده از حس عدالت‌خواهی است؛ او از ظالمان انتقام خواهد کشید. |
18 as one about to render a recompence, [even] reproach to his adversaries.
| دشمنان خود را به سزای اعمالشان خواهد رسانید و مخالفان خود را حتی اگر در سرزمینهای دور دست نیز باشند، جزا خواهد داد. |
19 So shall they of the west fear the name of the Lord, and they [that come] from the rising of the sun his glorious name: for the wrath of the Lord shall come as a mighty river, it shall come with fury.
| همهٔ مردم، از شرق تا غرب، از قدرت او خواهند ترسید و به او احترام خواهند گذاشت. او مانند سیلابی عظیم و طوفانی شدید خواهد آمد. |
20 And the deliverer shall come for Sion's sake, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
| خداوند به قوم خود می‌گوید: «نجات دهنده‌ای به اورشلیم خواهد آمد تا کسانی را که در اسرائیل از گناهانشان دست می‌کشند، نجات بخشد. |
21 And this shall be my covenant with them, said the Lord; My Spirit which is upon you, and the words which I have put in your mouth, shall never fail from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your seed, for the Lord has spoken it, henceforth and for ever.
| و اما من با شما این عهد را می‌بندم: روح من که بر شماست و کلام من که در دهان شماست، هرگز از شما دور نخواهند شد. این است عهد من با شما و با نسلهای شما تا ابد.» |
