Esias 33
1 Woe to them that afflict you; but no one makes you miserable: and he that deals perfidiously with you does not deal perfidiously: they that deal perfidiously shall be taken and given up, and as a moth on a garment, so shall they be spoiled.
Ai de ti desolador, que não foste desolado, e que obras perfidamente contra os que não obraram perfidamente contra ti! acabando tu de desolar, serás desolado: e, acabando tu de tratar perfidamente, se tratará perfidamente contra ti.
2 Lord, have mercy upon us; for we have trusted in you: the seed of the rebellious is gone to destruction, but our deliverance was in a time of affliction.
Senhor, tem misericórdia de nós, por ti temos esperado: sê tu o seu braço nas madrugadas, como também a nossa salvação no tempo da tribulação.
3 By reason of the terrible sound the nations were dismayed for fear of you, and the heathen were scattered.
Á voz do arroido fugirão os povos: à tua exaltação as gentes serão dispersas.
4 And now shall the spoils of your small and great be gathered: as if one should gather locusts, so shall they mock you.
Então ajuntar-se-á o vosso despojo como se apanha o pulgão: como os gafanhotos saltam, ali saltará.
5 The God who dwells on high is holy: Sion is filled with judgement and righteousness.
O Senhor está exalçado, pois habita nas alturas: encheu a Sião de juízo e justiça.
6 They shall be delivered up to the law: our salvation is our treasure: there are wisdom and knowledge and piety towards the Lord; these are the treasures of righteousness.
E será que a firmeza dos teus tempos, e a força das tuas salvações, será a sabedoria e a ciência: e o temor do Senhor será o seu tesouro.
7 Behold now, these shall be terrified with fear of you: those whom you feared shall cry out because of you: messengers shall be sent, bitterly weeping, entreating for peace.
Eis que os seus embaixadores estão clamando de fora; e os mensageiros de paz estão chorando amargamente.
8 For the ways of these shall be made desolate: the terror of the nations has been made to cease, and the covenant with these is taken away, and you shall by no means deem them men.
As estradas estão desoladas, cessam os que passam pelas veredas: desfaz a aliança, despreza as cidades, e a homem nenhum estima.
9 The land mourns; Libanus is ashamed: Saron is become marshes; Galilee shall be laid bare, and Chermel.
A terra geme e pranteia, o líbano se envergonha e se murcha: Saron se tornou como um deserto; e Basan e Carmelo foram sacudidos.
10 Now will I arise, says the Lord, now will I be glorified; now will I be exalted.
Agora pois me levantarei, diz o Senhor: agora serei exaltado, agora serei posto em alto.
11 Now shall you see, now shall you perceive; the strength of your breath, shall be vain; fire shall devour you.
Concebestes palha, parireis pragana: e o vosso espírito vos devorará como fogo.
12 And the nations shall be burnt up; as a thorn in the field cast out and burnt up.
E os povos serão como os incêndios de cal: como espinhos cortados arderão no fogo.
13 They that are afar off shall hear what I have done; they that draw near shall know my strength.
Ouvi, vós os que estais longe, o que tenho feito: e vós, que estais vizinhos, conhecei o meu poder.
14 The sinners in Sion have departed; trembling shall seize the ungodly. Who will tell you that a fire is kindled? Who will tell you of the eternal place?
Os pecadores de Sião se assombraram, o tremor surpreendeu os hipócritas. Quem dentre nós habitará com o fogo consumidor? quem dentre nós habitará com as labaredas eternas?
15 He that walks in righteousness, speaking rightly, hating transgression and iniquity, and shaking his hands from gifts, stopping his ears that he should not hear the judgement of blood, shutting his eyes that he should not see injustice.
O que anda em justiça, e o que fala equidades; o que arremessa para longe de si o ganho de opressões; o que sacode das suas mãos todo o presente; o que tapa os seus ouvidos para não ouvir acerca de sangue e fecha os seus olhos para não ver o mal
16 he shall dwell in a high cave of a strong rock: bread shall be given him, and his water shall be sure.
Este habitará nas alturas, as fortalezas das rochas serão o seu alto refúgio, o seu pão se lhe dá, as suas águas são certas.
17 You shall see a king with glory: your eyes shall behold a land from afar.
Os teus olhos verão o Rei na sua formosura, e verão a terra que está longe.
18 Your soul shall meditate terror. Where are the scribes? where are the counsellors, where is he that numbers them that are growing up,
O teu coração considerará o assombro, dizendo: Onde o escrivão, onde o pagador? onde o que conta as torres?
19 [even] the small and great people? with whom he took not counsel, neither did he understand [a people] of deep speech, so that a despised people should not hear, and there is no understanding to him that hears.
Não verás mais aquele povo espantável, povo de fala tão profunda, que não se pode perceber e de língua tão estranha que não se pode entender.
20 Behold the city of Sion, our refuge: your eyes shall behold Jerusalem, a rich city, tabernacles which shall not be shaken, neither shall the pins of her tabernacle be moved for ever, neither shall her cords be at all broken:
Olha para Sião, a cidade das nossas solenidades: os teus olhos verão a Jerusalém, habitação quieta, tenda que não será derribada, cujas estacas nunca serão arrancadas, e de cujas cordas nenhuma se quebrará.
21 for the name of the Lord is great to you: you shall have a place, [even] rivers and wide and spacious channels: you shall not go this way, neither a vessel with oars go [thereby].
Mas o Senhor ali nos será grandioso, lugar de rios e correntes largas será: barco nenhum de remo passará por eles, nem navio grande navegará por eles.
22 For my God is great: the Lord our judge shall not pass me by: the Lord is our prince, the Lord is our king; the Lord, he shall save us.
Porque o Senhor é o nosso Juiz: O Senhor é o nosso Legislador: O Senhor é o nosso Rei, ele nos salvará.
23 Your cords are broken, for they had no strength: your meat has given way, it shall not spread the sails, it shall not bear a signal, until it be given up for plunder; therefore shall many lame men take spoil.
As tuas cordas se afrouxaram: não puderam ter firme o seu mastro, e vela não estenderam: então a preza de abundantes despojos se repartirá; e até os coxos roubarão a preza.
24 And the people dwelling amongst them shall by no means say, I am in pain: for their sin shall be forgiven them.
E morador nenhum dirá: Enfermo estou; porque o povo que habitar nela será absolto de iniquidade.
