Esias 14
1 And the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and they shall rest on their land: and the stranger shall be added to them, yes, shall be added to the house of Jacob.
Ty Herren skall förbarma sig öfver Jacob, och ännu utkora Israel, och sätta dem uti sitt land: och främlingar skola gifva sig till dem, och hålla sig intill Jacobs hus;
2 And the Gentiles shall take them, and bring them into their place: and they shall inherit them, and they shall be multiplied upon the land for servants and handmaidens: and they that took them captives shall become captives [to them]; and they that had lordship over them shall be under [their] rule.
Och folk skola, dem till sig taga, och hafva dem in till sitt rum, så att Israels hus skall äga dem uti Herrans land till tjenare och tjenarinnor; och skola hålla dem fångna, af hvilkom de fångne voro, och skola råda öfver sina plågare.
3 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall give you rest from your sorrow and vexation, [and from] your hard servitude wherein you did serve them.
Och på den tiden, då Herren varder dig ro gifvandes ifrå din jämmer och vedermöda, och ifrå den hårda träldom, der du uti varit hafver;
4 And you shall take up this lamentation against the king of Babylon, How has the extortioner ceased, and the taskmaster ceased!
Så skall du föra ett sådant ordspråk emot Konungen af Babel, och säga: Huru är det nu ute med plågarenom, och beskattningen hafver en ända?
5 The Lord has broken the yoke of sinners, the yoke of princes.
Herren hafver sönderbrutit de ogudaktigas ris, de väldigas ris;
6 Having struck a nation in wrath, with an incurable plague, striking a nation with a wrathful plague, which spared [them] not, he rested in quiet.
Den som folk slog i grymhet utan återvändo, och med stränghet rådandes var öfver Hedningarna, och förföljde dem utan barmhertighet.
7 All the earth cries aloud with joy:
Nu hafver dock hela verlden ro, och är stilla, och fröjdar sig i glädje.
8 the trees also of Libanus rejoice against you, and the cedar of Libanus, [saying], From the time that you have been laid low, no one has come up to cut us down.
Ock fröjda sig furoträn öfver dig, och de cedreträ i Libanon ( och säga ): Efter du ligger, så kommer ingen upp, som oss afhugger.
9 Hell from beneath is provoked to meet you: all the great ones that have ruled over the earth have risen up together against you, they that have raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
Helvetet dernedre bäfvade för dig, emot din tillkommelse; det uppväcker dig de döda, alla verldenes bockar, och bad alla Hedningarnas Konungar uppstå utaf sina stolar; (Sheol h7585)
10 All shall answer and say to you, You also have been taken, even as we; and you are numbered amongst us.
Att de skulle, en efter den andra, tala, och säga till dig: Du äst ock slagen lika som vi, och dig går lika som oss.
11 Your glory has come down to Hades, and your great mirth: under you they shall spread corruption, and the worm shall be your covering. (Sheol h7585)
Ditt prål är neder till helvete faret, samt med dina harpors klingande; mal skall vara din säng, och matkar ditt öfvertäckelse. (Sheol h7585)
12 How has Lucifer, that rose in the morning, fallen from heaven! He that sent [orders] to all the nations is crushed to the earth.
Huru äst du af himmelen fallen, du sköna morgonstjerna? Huru äst du till jordena fallen, du som försvagade Hedningarna?
13 But you said in your heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven: I will sit on a lofty mount, on the lofty mountains towards the north:
Tänkte du dock uti ditt hjerta: Jag vill stiga upp i himmelen, och förhöja min stol upp öfver Guds stjernor. Jag vill sätta mig på vittnesbördsens berg, på den sidon norrut.
14 I will go up above the clouds: I will be like the Most High.
Jag vill fara öfver de höga skyar, och vara den Aldrahögsta lik.
Ja, till helvetes far du, vid kulones sida. (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see you shall wonder at you, and say, This is the man that troubled the earth, that made kings to shake;
Den dig ser, han skall skåda dig, och se uppå dig ( och säga ): Är det den man, som verldena skälfvande gjorde, och Konungariken bäfvande;
17 that made the whole world desolate, and destroyed its cities; he loosed not those who were in captivity.
Den der jordenes krets ödelade, och städerna derinne nederslog, och gaf icke sina fångar lösa?
18 All the kings of the nations lie in honour, [every] man in his house.
Allesamman Hedningarnas Konungar ligga dock med äro, hvar och en i sitt hus;
19 But you shall be cast forth on the mountains, as a loathed carcase, with many dead who have been pierced with swords, going down to the grave.
Men du äst förkastad utu dine graf, såsom en förderfvad gren, såsom de slagnas klädnad, som med svärd ihjälstungne äro, hvilke nederfara till helvetes stenar, såsom ett förtrampadt as. (questioned)
20 As a garment defiled with blood shall not be pure, so neither shall you be pure; because you have destroyed my land, and have slain my people: you shall not endure for ever, —[you] an evil seed.
Du skall icke såsom de begrafven varda; ty du hafver förderfvat ditt land, och slagit ditt folk; ty man skall aldrig tänka på den ondskofulla sädena.
21 Prepare your children to be slain for the sins of their father; that they arise not, and inherit the earth, nor fill the earth with wars.
Reder till, att man må slagta hans barn, för deras fäders missgerningars skull, att de icke uppkomma eller ärfva landet, eller göra jordenes krets fullan med fiendar.
22 And I will rise up against them, says the Lord of hosts, and I will destroy their name, and remnant, and seed: thus says the Lord.
Och jag skall öfver dem komma säger Herren Zebaoth, och i Babel utrota hans åminnelse, hans igenlefda, affödo och efterkommande, säger Herren;
23 And I will make the region of Babylon desert, so that hedgehogs shall dwell [there], and it shall come to nothing: and I will make it a pit of clay for destruction.
Och skall göra honom igelkottom till arfs, och till en vattusjö, och skall sopa honom med förderfvelsens qvast, säger Herren Zebaoth.
24 Thus says the Lord of hosts, As I have said, so it shall be: and as I have purposed, so [the matter] shall remain:
Herren Zebaoth hafver svorit, och sagt: Hvad gäller, att det skall så ske som jag tänker, och skall så blifva, som jag i sinnet hafver;
25 [even] to destroy the Assyrians upon my land, and upon my mountains: and they shall be for trampling; and their yoke shall be taken away from them, and their glory shall be taken away from their shoulders.
Att Assur nederlagd varder i mitt land, och jag förtrampar honom på min berg; på det hans ok skall af dem taget varda, och hans börda af deras hals komma.
26 This is the purpose which the Lord has purposed upon the whole earth: and this the hand that is uplifted against all the nations.
Detta äro de anslag, som han hafver öfver all land, och det är den uträckta hand öfver alla Hedningar.
27 For what the Holy God has purposed, who shall frustrate? and who shall turn back his uplifted hand?
Ty Herren Zebaoth hafver det beslutit; ho vill förmenat? Och hans hand är uträckt; ho kan afvända henne?
28 In the year in which king Achaz died this word came.
I det året, då Konung Ahas blef död, vardt denne tungen sedd.
29 Rejoice not, all you Philistines, because the yoke of him that struck you is broken: for out of the seed of the serpent shall come forth the young asps, and their young shall come forth flying serpents,
Fröjda dig icke så fast, du Philistea, att det ris, som dig slog, sönderbrutet är; ty utaf ormsens rot skall komma en basilisk, och hans frukt skall vara en brinnande flygande drake.
30 And the poor shall be fed by him, and poor men shall rest in peace: but he shall destroy your seed with hunger, and shall destroy your remnant.
Ty de torftigas förstfödingar skola berga sig, och de fattige tryggeliga hvila sig; men dina rot vill jag dräpa med hunger, och skall han förgöra dina igenlefda.
31 Howl, you gates of cities; let the cities be troubled and cry, [even] all the Philistines: for smoke is coming from the north, and there is no [possibility] of living.
Jämra dig, du port, ropa, du stad, hela Philistea är förtviflad; ty nordanefter kommer en rök, och ingen ensam är uti hans tjäll.
32 And what shall the kings of the nations answer? That the Lord has founded Sion, and by him the poor of the people shall be saved.
Och hvad varda Hedningarnas båd sägande? Nämliga att Herren hafver grundat Zion, och der skola hans folks elände hafva tillflykt.
