Osee 10
1 Israel is a vine with goodly branches, her fruit is abundant: according to the multitude of her fruits she has multiplied [her] altars; according to the wealth of his land, he has set up pillars.
Israël est une vigne luxuriante qui produit son fruit. Selon l'abondance de ses fruits, il a multiplié ses autels. Au fur et à mesure que leurs terres ont prospéré, ils ont orné leurs pierres sacrées.
2 They have divided their hearts; now shall they be utterly destroyed: he shall dig down their altars, their pillars shall mourn.

3 Because now they shall say, We have no king, because we feared not the Lord:

4 and what should a king do for us, speaking false professions [as his] words? he will make a covenant: judgement shall spring up as a weed on the soil of the field.
Ils font des promesses, jurent faussement en concluant des pactes. C'est pourquoi le jugement pousse comme de l'herbe empoisonnée dans les sillons du champ.
5 The inhabitants of Samaria shall dwell near the calf of the house of On; for the people of it mourned for it: and as they provoked him, they shall rejoice at his glory, because he has departed from them.
Les habitants de Samarie seront dans la terreur à cause des veaux de Beth Aven, car son peuple se lamentera sur elle, ainsi que ses prêtres qui s'en sont réjouis, pour sa gloire, car il s'en est éloigné.
6 And having bound it for the Assyrians, they carried it away as presents to king Jarim: Ephraim shall receive a gift, and Israel shall be ashamed of his counsel.
Elle sera aussi transportée en Assyrie pour être offerte à un grand roi. Ephraïm recevra la honte, et Israël aura honte de son propre conseil.
7 Samaria has cast off her king as a twig on the surface of the water.
Samarie et son roi s'envolent comme une brindille sur l'eau.
8 And the altars of On, the sins of Israel, shall be taken away: thorns and thistles shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains, Cover us; and to the hills, Fall on us.
Les hauts lieux de l'Aven, le péché d'Israël, seront détruits. L'épine et le chardon monteront sur leurs autels. Ils diront aux montagnes: « Couvrez-nous! » et aux collines: « Tombez sur nous! »
9 From the time the hills [existed] Israel has sinned: there they stood: war [waged] against the children of iniquity
« Israël, tu as péché depuis le temps de Guibea. Ils sont restés là. La bataille contre les enfants de l'iniquité ne les atteint pas à Gibéa.
10 to chastise them shall not overtake them on the hill, the nations shall be gathered against them, when they are chastened for their two sins,
Quand je le voudrai, je les châtierai; et les nations s'assembleront contre eux quand ils sont liés à leurs deux transgressions.
11 Ephraim is a heifer taught to love victory, but I will come upon the fair part of her neck: I will mount Ephraim; I will pass over Juda in silence; Jacob shall prevail against him.
Ephraïm est une génisse dressée qui aime battre, alors je mettrai un joug sur son beau cou. Je mettrai un cavalier sur Ephraïm. Juda va labourer. Jacob va briser ses mottes.
12 Sow to yourselves for righteousness, gather in for the fruit of life: light you for yourselves the light of knowledge; seek the Lord till the fruits of righteousness come upon you.
Semez pour vous-mêmes dans la justice, récolter selon la bonté. Défrichez votre terrain en friche, car il est temps de chercher Yahvé, jusqu'à ce qu'il vienne et fasse pleuvoir la justice sur vous.
13 Therefore have you passed over ungodliness in silence, and reaped the sins of it? you have eaten false fruit; for you has trusted in your sins, in the abundance of your power.
Vous avez labouré la méchanceté. Vous avez récolté l'iniquité. Vous avez mangé le fruit du mensonge, car tu as eu confiance dans ta voie, dans la multitude de tes guerriers.
14 Therefore shall destruction rise up amongst your people, and all your strong places shall be ruined: as a prince Solomon [departed] out of the house of Jeroboam, in the days of battle they dashed the mother to the ground upon the children,
C'est pourquoi un cri de guerre s'élèvera parmi ton peuple, et toutes vos forteresses seront détruites, comme Shalman a détruit Beth Arbel au jour de la bataille. La mère a été mise en pièces avec ses enfants.
15 thus will I do to you, O house of Israel, because of the unrighteousness of your sins.
C'est ainsi que Béthel te traitera, à cause de ta grande méchanceté. Au lever du jour, le roi d'Israël sera détruit.
