< Genesis 49 >
1 And Jacob called his sons, and said to them,
Yakob yɔ via ŋutsuwo katã ƒo ƒu, eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Miƒo ƒu ɖe ŋunye, eye magblɔ nu siwo ava adzɔ ɖe mia dzi le ɣeyiɣi si gbɔna me la na mi.
2 Assemble yourselves, that I may tell you what shall happen to you in the last days. Gather yourselves together, and hear me, sons of Jacob; hear Israel, hear your father.
Miɖo tom, Yakob ƒe viwo, miɖo to Israel, mia fofo.
3 Ruben, you [are] my firstborn, you my strength, and the first of my children, hard to be endured, [hard and] self-willed.
“Ruben, wòe nye nye viŋutsu tsitsitɔ, nye ɖekakpuimevi. Wòe nye ta le tsitsi kple bubu nu.
4 You were insolent like water, burst not forth with violence, for you went up to the bed of your father; then you defiled the couch, whereupon you went up.
Ke mèdzea akɔ anyi o; èle abe ƒutsotsoe nyanyra ene; màgadze gbãtɔ azɔ o. Maɖiɖi wò, elabena ède asi srɔ̃nyewo dometɔ ɖeka ŋu, eye nèto esia me ɖi gbɔ̃m.
5 Symeon and Levi, brethren, accomplished the injustice of their cutting off.
“Simeon kple Levi ƒe nɔnɔme sɔ. Wonye ame siwo wɔa sesẽnu kple nu madzɔmadzɔ.
6 Let not my soul come into their counsel, and let not mine inward parts contend in their conspiracy, for in their wrath they killed men, and in their passion they houghed a bull.
O, nye luʋɔ, ɖe ɖa le ame siawo ŋu. Nyematɔ ɖe woƒe nu vɔ̃ɖiwo dzi gbeɖe o. Elabena wowu ame aɖe le woƒe dɔmedzoe me, eye wode abi nyiwo ŋu dzodzro abe fefenu ene.
7 Cursed be their wrath, for it was wilful, and their anger, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
Woaƒo fi ade woƒe dɔmedzoe, elabena enu sesẽ, eye wòvɔ̃ɖi. Mama wo ɖe Yakob ƒe viwo dome, eye makaka woƒe dzidzimeviwo le Israel.
8 Juda, your brethren have praised you, and your hands shall be on the back of your enemies; your father's sons shall do you reverence.
“Yuda, nɔviwòwo akafu wò; àtsrɔ̃ wò futɔwo. Fofowòviwo ade ta agu na wò.
9 Juda is a lion's whelp: from the tender plant, my son, you are gone up, having couched you lie as a lion, and as a whelp; who shall stir him up?
Yuda nye dzatavi; si wu nu si wòlé la ɖuɖu nu. Etsyɔ akɔ anyi abe dzatatsu ene; eye abe dzatanɔ ene–ame kae ake atse anyɔe?
10 A ruler shall not fail from Juda, nor a prince from his loins, until there come the things stored up for him; and he is the expectation of nations.
Atamkayi maɖe ɖa le Yuda o va se ɖe esime ame si tututu tɔ wònye la nava, ame si amewo katã abu.
11 Binding his foal to the vine, and the foal of his ass to the branch [of it], he shall wash his robe in wine, and his garment in the blood of the grape.
Ede ka eƒe tedzivi ɖe wainti nyuitɔ ŋu, eye wònya eƒe awuwo le wain me.
12 His eyes shall be more cheering than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk.
Eƒe ŋkuwo biã wu wain, eye eƒe aɖuwo fu wu notsi.
13 Zabulon shall dwell on the coast, and he [shall be] by a haven of ships, and shall extend to Sidon.
“Zebulon anɔ ƒuta, eye wòanye tɔdziʋuwo dzeƒe. Eƒe anyigba akeke ade keke Sidon.
14 Issachar has desired that which is good; resting between the inheritances.
“Isaka nye tedzi agbatsɔlã sesẽ aɖe si le dzudzɔm le lãkpowo dome.
15 And having seen the resting place that it was good, and the land that it was fertile, he subjected his shoulder to labour, and became a husbandman.
Esi wòkpɔ ale si teƒea nya kpɔna kple ale si anyigba la nyoe la, elɔ̃ dze dɔ la dzi, eye wòsubɔ eƒe aƒetɔ kple ŋusẽ.
16 Dan shall judge his people, as one tribe too in Israel.
“Dan aɖu eƒe amewo dzi abe Israel ƒe to bubu ɖe sia ɖe ene.
17 And let Dan be a serpent in the way, besetting the path, biting the heel of the horse (and the rider shall fall backward),
Anye da si ɖua afɔkpodzi na sɔ le mɔ dzi, eye sɔdola dzea anyi la.
18 waiting for the salvation of the Lord.
Yehowa, wò ɖeɖe la ko mele mɔ kpɔm na.
19 Gad, a plundering troop shall plunder him; but he shall plunder him, [pursuing him] closely.
“Adzoblasuwo ƒe ha adze Gad dzi, ke eya anya wo ɖe du nu.
20 Aser, his bread [shall be] fat; and he shall yield dainties to princes.
“Aser la, nuɖuɖu siwo nyo na fiawo la aʋã nɛ fũu.
21 Nephthalim is a spreading stem, bestowing beauty on its fruit.
“Naftali nye zinɔ si ɖea abla, eye wògblɔa nya viviwo la.
22 Joseph is a son increased; my dearly loved son is increased; my youngest son, turn to me.
“Yosef nye kutsetseti aɖe si le tsi dzidzi to, eɖe alɔwo, eye wòɖo vɔvɔli ɖe gliwo dzi.
23 Against whom men taking evil counsel reproached [him], and the archers pressed hard upon him.
Ame siwo da aŋutrɔe, eye woti eyome la wɔ nuvevii.
24 But their bow and arrows were mightily consumed, and the sinews of their arms were slackened by the hand of the mighty one of Jacob; thence is he that strengthened Israel from the God of your father;
Gake eƒe asi li ɖe eƒe dati ŋu goŋgoŋ eye eƒe asi le tsɔtsɔm elabena Yakob ƒe Mawu Ŋusẽkatãtɔ, alẽkplɔla la kple Israel ƒe Agakpe
25 and my God helped you, and he blessed you with the blessing of heaven from above, and the blessing of the earth possessing all things, because of the blessing of the breasts and of the womb,
Mia fofowo ƒe Mawu, Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la nakɔ dziƒoyayrawo kple anyigbadziyayrawo ɖe dziwò duu, wòana nàdzi asɔ gbɔ,
26 the blessings of your father and your mother—it has prevailed above the blessing of the lasting mountains, and beyond the blessings of the everlasting hills; they shall be upon the head of Joseph, and upon the head of the brothers of whom he took the lead.
wòana nuɖuɖu kple seƒoƒowo nawɔ na wò fũu, eye wòatsɔ yayra siwo ade kekeke togbɛ siwo anɔ anyi tegbee ƒe liƒowo dzi la na wò. Yayra siawoe ava Yosef, ame si woɖe aboyoe le nɔviawo dome la dzi.
27 Benjamin, as a ravening wolf, shall eat still in the morning, and at evening he gives food.
“Benyamin nye amegaxi si léa nu. Evuvua eƒe futɔwo le ŋdi, eye wòmaa nu si wòlé la le fiẽ.”
28 All these [are] the twelve sons of Jacob; and their father spoke these words to them, and he blessed them; he blessed each of them according to his blessing.
Esiawoe nye yayra siwo wo fofo Israel kɔ ɖe via wuieveawo dzi.
29 And he said to them, I am added to my people; you shall bury me with my fathers in the cave, which is in the field of Ephron the Chettite,
Eye wòɖo nu siawo na wo: “Esusɔ vie mayi tɔgbuinyewo gbɔ. Miɖim ɖe fofonyewo gbɔ ɖe kpeto la me le Efrɔn, Hititɔ la ƒe anyigba dzi,
30 in the double cave which is opposite Mambre, in the land of Chanaan, the cave which Abraam bought of Ephron the Chettite, for a possession of a sepulchre.
ɖe kpeto si le Makpela ƒe anyigba si te ɖe Mamre ŋu le Kanaanyigba dzi la. Abraham ƒle teƒe sia abe ameɖiƒe ene le Efrɔn, Hititɔ la gbɔ kpe ɖe anyigba la ŋu.
31 There they buried Abraam and Sarrha his wife; there they buried Isaac, and Rebecca his wife; there they buried Lea;
Afi ma woɖi Abraham kple srɔ̃a Sara ɖo. Afi ma woɖi Isak kple srɔ̃a Rebeka ɖo, eye afi ma ke meɖi Lea hã ɖo.
32 in the portion of the field, and of the cave that was in it, [purchased] of the sons of Chet.
Enye kpeto si tɔgbuinye Abraham ƒle le Het ƒe viŋutsuwo si.”
33 And Jacob ceased giving charges to his sons; and having lifted up his feet on the bed, he died, and was gathered to his people.
Esi Yakob wu eƒe nyagblɔɖiawo na viawo nu la, emlɔ anyi azɔ ɖe eƒe abati dzi, eye wòku.
