Genesis 30

1 And Rachel having perceived that she bore Jacob no children, was jealous of her sister; and said to Jacob, Give me children; and if not, I shall die.

۱ یعقوب، اولادی نزایید، راحیل برخواهر خود حسد برد. و به یعقوب گفت: «پسران به من بده والا می‌میرم.»

2 And Jacob was angry with Rachel, and said to her, Am I in the place of God, who has deprived you of the fruit of the womb?

۲ آنگاه غضب یعقوب برراحیل افروخته شد و گفت: «مگر من به‌جای خدا هستم که بار رحم را از تو باز داشته است؟»

3 And Rachel said to Jacob, Behold my handmaid Balla, go in to her, and she shall bear upon my knees, and I also shall have children by her.

۳ گفت: «اینک کنیز من، بلهه! بدو درآ تا بر زانویم بزاید، و من نیز از او اولاد بیابم.»

4 And she gave him Balla her maid, for a wife to him; and Jacob went in to her.

۴ پس کنیز خود، بلهه را به یعقوب به زنی داد. و او به وی درآمد.

5 And Balla, Rachel's maid, conceived, and bore Jacob a son.

۵ وبلهه آبستن شده، پسری برای یعقوب زایید.

6 And Rachel said, God has given judgement for me, and listened to my voice, and has given me a son; therefore she called his name, Dan.

۶ وراحیل گفت: «خدا مرا داوری کرده است، و آوازمرا نیز شنیده، و پسری به من عطا فرموده است.» پس او را دان نام نهاد.

7 And Balla, Rachel's maid, conceived yet again, and bore a second son to Jacob.

۷ و بلهه، کنیز راحیل، بازحامله شده، پسر دومین برای یعقوب زایید.

8 And Rachel said, God has helped me, and I contended with my sister and prevailed; and she called his name, Nephthalim.

۸ وراحیل گفت: «به کشتیهای خدا با خواهر خودکشتی گرفتم و غالب آمدم.» و او را نفتالی نام نهاد.

9 And Lea saw that she ceased from bearing, and she took Zelpha her maid, and gave her to Jacob for a wife; and he went in to her.

۹ و اما لیه چون دید که از زاییدن باز‌مانده بود، کنیز خود زلفه را برداشته، او را به یعقوب به زنی داد.

10 And Zelpha the maid of Lea conceived, and bore Jacob a son.

۱۰ و زلفه، کنیز لیه، برای یعقوب پسری زایید.

11 And Lea said, [It is] happily: and she called his name, Gad.

۱۱ و لیه گفت: «به سعادت!» پس او را جادنامید.

12 And Zelpha the maid of Lea conceived yet again, and bore Jacob a second son.

۱۲ و زلفه، کنیز لیه، پسر دومین برای یعقوب زایید.

13 And Lea said, I am blessed, for the women will pronounce me blessed; and she called his name, Aser.

۱۳ و لیه گفت: «به خوشحالی من! زیرا که دختران، مرا خوشحال خواهند خواند.» واو را اشیر نام نهاد.

14 And Ruben went in the day of barley harvest, and found apples of mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother Lea; and Rachel said to Lea her sister, Give me of your son's mandrakes.

۱۴ و در ایام درو گندم، روبین رفت و مهرگیاهها در صحرا یافت و آنها را نزدمادر خود لیه، آورد. پس راحیل به لیه گفت: «ازمهرگیاههای پسر خود به من بده.»

15 And Lea said, [Is it] not enough for you that you have taken my husband, will you also take my son's mandrakes? And Rachel said, Not so: let him lie with you tonight for your son's mandrakes.

۱۵ وی را گفت: «آیا کم است که شوهر مرا گرفتی و مهر گیاه پسرمرا نیز می‌خواهی بگیری؟» راحیل گفت: «امشب به عوض مهر گیاه پسرت، با تو بخوابد.»

16 And Jacob came in out of the field at even; and Lea went forth to meet him, and said, You shall come in to me this day, for I have hired you for my son's mandrakes; and he lay with her that night.

۱۶ ووقت عصر، چون یعقوب از صحرا می‌آمد، لیه به استقبال وی بیرون شده، گفت: «به من درآ، زیرا که تو را به مهرگیاه پسر خود اجیر کردم.» پس آنشب با وی همخواب شد.

17 And God listened to Lea, and she conceived, and bore Jacob a fifth son.

۱۷ و خدا، لیه را مستجاب فرمود که آبستن شده، پسر پنجمین برای یعقوب زایید.

18 And Lea said, God has given me my reward, because I gave my maid to my husband; and she called his name Issachar, which is, Reward.

۱۸ و لیه گفت: «خدا اجرت به من داده است، زیرا کنیز خود را به شوهر خود دادم.» و او را یساکار نام نهاد.

19 And Lea conceived again, and bore Jacob a sixth son.

۱۹ و بار دیگر لیه حامله شده، پسر ششمین برای یعقوب زایید.

20 And Lea said, God has given me a good gift in this time; my husband will choose me, for I have born him six sons: and she called his name, Zabulon.

۲۰ و لیه گفت: «خدا عطای نیکو به من داده است. اکنون شوهرم با من زیست خواهد کرد، زیرا که شش پسر برای او زاییدم.» پس او را زبولون نامید.

21 And after this she bore a daughter; and she called her name, Dina.

۲۱ و بعد از آن دختری زایید، و او را دینه نام نهاد.

22 And God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her, and he opened her womb.

۲۲ پس خداراحیل را بیاد آورد، و دعای او را اجابت فرموده، خدا رحم او را گشود.

23 And she conceived, and bore Jacob a son; and Rachel said, God has taken away my reproach.

۲۳ و آبستن شده، پسری بزاد و گفت: «خدا ننگ مرا برداشته است.»

24 And she called his name Joseph, saying, Let God add to me another son.

۲۴ و اورا یوسف نامیده، گفت: «خداوند پسری دیگربرای من مزید خواهد کرد.»

25 And it came to pass when Rachel had born Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, Send me away, that I may go to my place and to my land.

۲۵ و واقع شد که چون راحیل، یوسف رازایید، یعقوب به لابان گفت: «مرا مرخص کن، تا به مکان و وطن خویش بروم.

26 Restore my wives and my children, for whom I have served you, that I may depart, for you know the service wherewith I have served you.

۲۶ زنان و فرزندان مراکه برای ایشان، تو را خدمت کرده‌ام به من واگذار، تا بروم زیرا خدمتی که به تو کردم، تو می‌دانی.»

27 And Laban said to him, If I have found grace in your sight, I would augur [well], for the Lord has blessed me at your coming in.

۲۷ لابان وی را گفت: «کاش که منظور نظر توباشم، زیرا تفالا یافته‌ام که بخاطر تو، خداوند مرابرکت داده است.»

28 Appoint me your wages, and I will give [them].

۲۸ و گفت: «اجرت خود را برمن معین کن تا آن را به تو دهم.»

29 And Jacob said, You know in what things I have served you, and how many cattle of your are with me.

۲۹ وی را گفت: «خدمتی که به تو کرده‌ام، خود می‌دانی، ومواشی ات چگونه نزد من بود.

30 For it was little you had before my time, and it is increased to a multitude, and the Lord God has blessed you since my coming; now then, when shall I set up also my own house?

۳۰ زیرا قبل ازآمدن من، مال تو قلیل بود، و به نهایت زیاد شد، وبعد از آمدن من، خداوند تو را برکت داده است. واکنون من نیز تدارک خانه خود را کی ببینم؟»

31 And Laban said to him, What shall I give you? and Jacob said to him, You shall not give me anything; if you will do this thing for me, I will again tend your flocks and keep them.

۳۱ گفت: «پس تو را چه بدهم؟» یعقوب گفت: «چیزی به من مده، اگر این کار را برای من بکنی، بار دیگر شبانی و پاسبانی گله تو را خواهم نمود.

32 Let all your sheep pass by today, and separate thence every grey sheep amongst the rams, and every one that is speckled and spotted amongst the goats—[this] shall be my reward.

۳۲ امروز در تمامی گله تو گردش می‌کنم، و هرمیش پیسه و ابلق و هر میش سیاه را از میان گوسفندان، و ابلق‌ها و پیسه‌ها را از بزها، جدامی سازم، و آن، اجرت من خواهد بود.

33 And my righteousness shall answer for me on the morrow, for it is my reward before you: whatever shall not be spotted and speckled amongst the goats, and grey amongst the rams, shall be stolen with me.

۳۳ و درآینده عدالت من، بر من شهادت خواهد داد، وقتی که بیایی تا اجرت مرا پیش خود ببینی، آنچه ازبزها، پیسه و ابلق، و آنچه از گوسفندان، سیاه نباشد، نزد من به دزدی شمرده شود.»

34 And Laban said to him, Let it be according to your word.

۳۴ لابان گفت: «اینک موافق سخن تو باشد.»

35 And he separated in that day the spotted and speckled he-goats, and all the spotted and speckled she-goats, and all that was grey amongst the rams, and every one that was white amongst them, and he gave them into the hand of his sons.

۳۵ و در همان روز، بزهای نرینه مخطط و ابلق، و همه ماده بزهای پیسه و ابلق، یعنی هر‌چه سفیدی در آن بود، و همه گوسفندان سیاه را جدا کرده، به‌دست پسران خود سپرد.

36 And he set a distance of a three days' journey between them and Jacob. And Jacob tended the cattle of Laban that were left behind.

۳۶ و در میان خود و یعقوب، سه روز راه، مسافت گذارد. و یعقوب باقی گله لابان را شبانی کرد.

37 And Jacob took to himself green rods of storax tree and walnut and plane tree; and Jacob peeled in them white stripes; and as he drew off the green, the white stripe which he had made appeared alternate on the rods.

۳۷ و یعقوب چوبهای تر و تازه از درخت کبوده و بادام و چنار برای خود گرفت، و خطهای سفید در آنها کشید، و سفیدی را که در چوبها بود، ظاهر کرد.

38 And he laid the rods which he had peeled, in the hollows of the watering-troughs, that whenever the cattle should come to drink, as they should have come to drink before the rods, the cattle might conceive at the rods.

۳۸ و وقتی که گله‌ها، برای آب خوردن می‌آمدند، آن چوبهایی را که خراشیده بود، درحوضها و آبخورها پیش گله‌ها می‌نهاد، تا چون برای نوشیدن بیایند، حمل بگیرند.

39 So the cattle conceived at the rods, and the cattle brought forth [young] speckled, and streaked and spotted with ash-coloured [spots].

۳۹ پس گله هاپیش چوبها بارآور می‌شدند، و بزهای مخطط وپیسه و ابلق می‌زاییدند.

40 And Jacob separated the lambs, and set before the sheep a speckled ram, and every variegated one amongst the lambs, and he separated flocks for himself alone, and did not mingle them with the sheep of Laban.

۴۰ و یعقوب، بزها را جداکرد، و روی گله‌ها را بسوی هر مخطط و سیاه درگله لابان واداشت، و گله های خود را جدا کرد و باگله لابان نگذاشت.

41 And it came to pass in the time wherein the cattle became pregnant, conceiving in the belly, Jacob put the rods before the cattle in the troughs, that they might conceive by the rods.

۴۱ و هرگاه حیوان های تنومندحمل می‌گرفتند، یعقوب چوبها را پیش آنها درآبخورها می‌نهاد، تا در میان چوبها حمل گیرند.

42 But he did not put them in [indiscriminately] whenever the cattle happened to bring forth, but the unmarked ones were Laban's, and the marked ones were Jacob's.

۴۲ و هر گاه حیوانات ضعیف بودند، آنها رانمی گذاشت، پس ضعیف‌ها از آن لابان، وتنومندها از آن یعقوب شدند.

43 And the man became very rich, and he had many cattle, and oxen, and servants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses.

۴۳ و آن مرد بسیارترقی نمود، و گله های بسیار و کنیزان و غلامان وشتران و حماران بهم رسانید.
