< Jezekiel 19 >

1 Moreover do you take up a lamentation for the prince of Israel,
Israel phoeiah khoboei rhoek ham na rhahlung phueih pah laeh.
2 and say, Why is your mother become a whelp in the midst of lions? in the midst of lions she has multiplied her whelps.
'Sathueng lakli kah sathuengnu na nu te thui pah. Sathuengca lakli ah kol tih a ca khaw ping.
3 And one of her whelps sprang forth; he became a lion, and learnt to take prey, he devoured men.
A ca lamkah pakhat te rhoeng tih, sathuengca la a om hatah maeh ngaeh ham a cang tih hlang a hnom.
4 And the nations heard a report of him; he was caught in their pit, and they brought him into the land of Egypt in chains.
Anih te namtom loh a yaak tih a vaam khuiah a tuuk uh. Te phoeiah thisum neh Egypt khohmuen la a pawk puei uh.
5 And she saw that he was driven away from her, [and] her hope [of him] perished, and she took another of her whelps; she made him a lion.
A ngaiuep bangla a hmuh vaengah a ngaiuepnah bing coeng dae a ca pakhat te a loh tih sathuengca la a khueh.
6 And he went up and down in the midst of lions, he became a lion, and learnt to take prey, he devoured men.
Te vaengah sathueng lakli ah aka pongpa sathuengca la a om dongah, maeh ngaeh ham a cang tih hlang a hnom.
7 And he prowled in his boldness and laid waste their cities, and made the land desolate, and the fullness of it, by the voice of his roaring.
Amah kah lohnong te a ming vaengah a khopuei a khah pah tih, a kawknah ol dongah khohmuen khaw a pum la a rhawp sak.
8 Then the nations set upon him from the countries round about, and they spread their nets upon him: he was taken in their pit.
Te vaengah a kaepvai paeng lamkah namtom rhoek te anih taengah mop. Anih ham a lawk a tung uh tih a vaam khuiah a tuuk uh.
9 And they put him in chains and in a cage, [and] he came to the king of Babylon; and he cast him into prison, that his voice should not be heard on the mountains of Israel.
Thisum neh soi khuila a khueh uh tih Babylon manghai taengla a khuen uh phoeiah rhalvong khuiah a khueh uh. Te daengah ni a ol te Israel tlang ah a yaak uh voel pawh.
10 Your mother was as a vine and as a blossom on a pomegranate tree, planted by water: her fruit and her shoot abounded by reason of much water.
Na nu te misur bangla nang thii neh tui taengah a phung. Tui a yet dongah pungtai tih bu.
11 And she became a rod for a tribe of princes, and was elevated in her bulk in the midst of [other] trees, and she saw her bulk in the multitude of her branches.
A hlaeng te aka taemrhai kah mancai ham a rhilh om. A sang khaw a bu laklo ah sang tih a sang neh a hlaeng a khawk khaw a tueng pah.
12 But she was broken down in wrath, she was cast upon the ground, and the east wind dried up her choice [branches]: vengeance came upon them, and the rod of her strength was withered; fire consumed it.
Tedae kosi ah a phuk tih diklai la a voeih. Khothoeng yilh ah a thaih rhae tih rhul. A rhilh conghol khaw rhae tih hmai loh a hlawp.
13 And now they have planted her in the wilderness, in a dry land.
Te dongah rhamrhae neh tuihalh khohmuen kah khosoek ah a phung coeng.
14 And fire is gone out of a rod of her choice [boughs], and has devoured her; and there was no rod of strength in her. Her race is become a parable of lamentation, and it shall be for a lamentation.
A hlaeng amah lamloh hmai puek tih a thaih a hlawp pah. Te dongah aka taemrhai ham mancai la caitueng a rhilh om pah pawh. He rhahlung khaw rhahlung la om coeng.
