Jezekiel 15
1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Und das Wort des HERRN erging also an mich:
2 And you, son of man—of all the wood, of the branches that are amongst the trees of the forest, what shall be made of the wood of the vine?
Menschensohn, was hat das Holz der Rebe vor allen Schlingpflanzen voraus, die sich unter den Bäumen des Waldes befinden?
3 Will they take wood of it to make [it fit] for work? will they take of it a peg to hang any vessel upon it?
Nimmt man auch Holz davon, um es zu einer Arbeit zu verwenden? Nimmt man auch davon einen Pflock, um irgend ein Gerät daran zu hängen?
4 It is only given to the fire to be consumed; the fire consumes that which is yearly pruned of it, and it is utterly gone. Will it be useful for [any] work?
Siehe, man wirft es ins Feuer, daß es verzehrt werde; wenn das Feuer seine beiden Enden verzehrt hat und es in der Mitte angebrannt ist, eignet es sich dann noch zur Verarbeitung?
5 Not even while it is yet whole will it be [useful] for [any] work: if the fire shall have utterly consumed it, will it still be [fit] for work?
Siehe, also es noch ganz war, konnte man nichts daraus machen; wie viel weniger, wenn es nun vom Feuer verzehrt und versengt ist, kann es noch verarbeitet werden!
6 Therefore say, Thus says the Lord, As the vine tree amongst the trees of the forest, which I have given up to the fire to be consumed, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Darum spricht Gott, der HERR, also: Wie ich das Holz der Rebe unter den Bäumen des Waldes dem Feuer zur Nahrung bestimmt habe, so habe ich auch die Einwohner Jerusalems preisgegeben.
7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go forth of the fire, and [yet] fire shall devour them; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have set my face against them.
Und ich will mein Angesicht wider sie setzen; sie sind zwar dem Feuer entgangen; aber das Feuer soll sie doch verzehren! Als dann werdet ihr erfahren, daß ich der HERR bin, wenn ich mein Angesicht wider sie setze.
8 And I will give up the land to ruin, because they have utterly transgressed, says the Lord.
Und ich will das Land zur Wüste machen, weil sie so treulos gehandelt haben, spricht Gott, der HERR.
