Deuteronomy 26
1 And it shall be when you shall have entered into the land, which the Lord your God gives you to inherit it, and you shall have inherited it, and you shall have lived upon it,
૧અને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને જે દેશ વતન તરીકે આપે છે તેમાં તમે આવો અને તેનો વારસો લઈને તેમાં રહો ત્યારે એમ થાય કે,
2 that you shall take of the first of the fruits of your land, which the Lord your God gives you, and you shall put them into a basket, and you shall go to the place which the Lord your God shall choose to have his name called there.
૨જે દેશ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને આપે છે તે ભૂમિનો પ્રથમ પાક તમારે લઈને તેને ટોપલીમાં ભરી જે સ્થળ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર પોતાનું નામ રાખવા સારું પસંદ કરે ત્યાં લઈ જવો.
3 And you shall come to the priest who shall be in those days, and you shall say to him, I testify this day to the Lord my God, that I am come into the land which the Lord sware to our fathers to give to us.
૩અને તે દિવસે ત્યાં જે કોઈ યાજક સેવા કરતો હોય તેની પાસે જઈને કહેવું કે, “આજે હું યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર સમક્ષ જાહેર કરું છું કે, જે દેશ આપણને આપવાને યહોવાહે આપણા પિતૃઓની આગળ સમ ખાધા હતા તેમાં અમે પહોંચ્યા છીએ.”
4 And the priest shall take the basket out of your hands, and shall set it before the altar of the Lord your God:
૪પછી યાજક તમારા હાથમાંથી ટોપલી લઈને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની વેદી આગળ નીચે મૂકે.
5 and he shall answer and say before the Lord your God, My father abandoned Syria, and went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a small number, and became there a mighty nation and a great multitude.
૫પછી તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર સમક્ષ એમ કહેવું કે, “અમારા પિતા સ્થળાંતર કરીને આવેલ અરામી હતા અને મિસરમાં જઈને રહ્યા. અને તેમના લોકની સંખ્યા થોડી હતી. ત્યાં તેઓ એક મોટી, શક્તિશાળી અને વસ્તીવાળી પ્રજા બન્યા.
6 And the Egyptians afflicted us, and humbled us, and imposed hard tasks on us:
૬પરંતુ મિસરીઓએ અમારી સાથે દુર્વ્યવહાર કરી અમને ગુલામ બનાવી અમારી પાસે સખત મજૂરી કરાવી.
7 and we cried to the Lord our God, and the Lord heard our voice, and saw our humiliation, and our labour, and our affliction.
૭ત્યારે અમે અમારા પિતૃઓના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહને પોકાર કર્યો. તેમણે અમારો સાદ સાંભળ્યો અને અમારી વિપત્તિ, મુશ્કેલીઓ અને અમારા પર થતાં જુલમ પર દ્રષ્ટિ કરી.
8 And the Lord brought us out of Egypt himself with his great strength, and his mighty hand, and his high arm, and with great visions, and with signs, and with wonders.
૮અને યહોવાહે પોતાના બળવાન હાથે અદ્ભૂત સામર્થ્યથી તથા તેમના પ્રચંડ બાહુબળથી, ચિહ્ન તથા ચમત્કારોથી અમને મિસરમાંથી બહાર લાવ્યા;
9 And he brought us into this place, and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
૯અને અમને આ સ્થળે લાવીને તેમણે અમને દૂધ તથા મધથી રેલછેલવાળો દેશ આપ્યો.
10 And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruits of the land, which you gave me, O Lord, a land flowing with milk and honey: and you shall leave it before the Lord your God, and you shall worship before the Lord your God;
૧૦અને હવે, હે યહોવાહ જુઓ જે દેશ તમે અમને આપ્યો છે તેની ઊપજનું પ્રથમ ફળ અમે લાવ્યા છીએ.” અને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર સમક્ષ તે મૂકીને તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરનું ભજન કરવું;
11 and you shall rejoice in all the good [things], which the Lord your God has given you, [you] and your family, and the Levite, and the stranger that is within you.
૧૧અને જે કંઈ સારું યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરે તમારા અને ઘરનાંને માટે કર્યુ હોય તે સર્વમાં તમારે તથા લેવીઓએ અને તમારી મધ્યે રહેતા પરદેશીઓએ ભેગા મળીને આનંદોત્સવ કરવો.
12 And when you shall have completed all the tithings of your fruits in the third year, you shall give the second tenth to the Levite, and stranger, and fatherless, and widow; and they shall eat it in your cities, and be merry.
૧૨ત્રીજું વર્ષ દશાંશનું વર્ષ છે. તેમાં જ્યારે તમે તમારી ઊપજનો દશાંશ આપી ચૂકો પછી તમારે લેવીઓને, પરદેશીઓને, વિધવાઓને અને અનાથોને આપવો જેથી તેઓ તમારી ભાગળોમાં ખાઈને તૃપ્ત થાય.
13 And you shall say before the Lord your God, I have fully collected the holy things out of my house, and I have given them to the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, according to all commands which you did command me: I did not transgress your command, and I did not forget it.
૧૩પછી તમારે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર સમક્ષ કહેવું કે, ‘અમે અમારા ઘરમાંથી બધી અર્પિત વસ્તુઓ કાઢી છે અને અમે તે વસ્તુઓ લેવીઓને, પરદેશીઓને, વિધવાઓને અને અનાથોને તમારી આજ્ઞા મુજબ આપી છે. અમે તમારી એકપણ આજ્ઞાનું ઉલ્લંઘન કર્યું નથી તેમ જ અમે ભૂલી પણ ગયા નથી.
14 And in my distress I did not eat of them, I have not gathered of them for an unclean purpose, I have not given of them to the dead; I have listened to the voice of the Lord our God, I have done as you have commanded me.
૧૪શોકના સમયમાં અમે તેમાંથી કંઈ પણ ખાધું નથી અને અશુદ્ધ થઈને અમે તેમાંથી કંઈ રાખી મૂક્યું નથી. વળી મૂએલાંને સારું તેમાંથી કંઈ આપ્યું નથી; અમે યહોવાહ અમારા ઈશ્વરની વાણી સાંભળીને જે સર્વ આજ્ઞા તમે અમને આપી છે તે પ્રમાણે કર્યું છે.
15 Look down from your holy house, from heaven, and bless your people Israel, and the land which you have given them, as you did swear to our fathers, to give to us a land flowing with milk and honey.
૧૫તમે તમારા પવિત્ર રહેઠાણમાંથી એટલે સ્વર્ગમાંથી નીચે જોઈ અને તમારી ઇઝરાયલી પ્રજા તેમ જ અમારા પિતૃઓની આગળ સમ ખાધા હતા તે પ્રમાણે જે ભૂમિ તમે અમને આપી છે એટલે દૂધ તથા મધથી રેલછેલવાળો દેશ આપ્યો છે તેના પર આશીર્વાદ આપો.
16 On this day the Lord your God charged you to keep all the ordinances and judgements; and you shall observe and do them, with all your heart, and with all your soul.
૧૬આજે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર તમને આ નિયમો અને હુકમો પાળવાની આજ્ઞા કરે છે; માટે તમે તમારા પૂરા હૃદયથી તથા પૂરા જીવથી તેને પાળો તથા અમલમાં મૂકો.
17 You have chosen God this day to be your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to observe his ordinances and judgements, and to listen to his voice.
૧૭તમે આજે યહોવાહને તમારા ઈશ્વર તરીકે સ્વીકાર્યાં છે. તમે તેમના માર્ગમાં ચાલશો તથા તેમના કાયદાઓ, આજ્ઞાઓ અને નિયમો પાળશો અને તેમની વાણી સાંભળશો.
18 And the Lord has chosen you this day that you should be to him a peculiar people, as he said, to keep his commands;
૧૮અને યહોવાહે તમને જે વચન આપ્યું હતું તે પ્રમાણે તેમણે કબૂલ કર્યું છે કે, તમે તેમના પસંદ કરેલા લોક છો તેથી તમારે તેમની સર્વ આજ્ઞાઓ પાળવી.
19 and that you should be above all nations, as he has made you renowned, and a boast, and glorious, that you should be a holy people to the Lord your God, as he has spoken.
૧૯અને જે દેશજાતિઓને તેમણે ઉત્પન્ન કરી છે તે સર્વના કરતાં તમને મહાન પ્રજા બનાવશે અને તમને માન-પ્રતિષ્ઠા અને આદર પ્રાપ્ત થશે. અને યહોવાહે આપેલા વચન પ્રમાણે તમે યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરની પવિત્ર પ્રજા થશો.
