Kings IV 1
1 And Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Achaab.
E depois da morte de Achab, Moab se rebelou contra Israel.
2 And Ochozias fell through the lattice that was in his upper chamber in Samaria and was sick; and he sent messengers, and said to them, Go and enquire of Baal fly, the god of Accaron, whether I shall recover of this my sickness. And they went to enquire of him.
E caiu Achazias pelas grades dum quarto alto, que tinha em Samaria, e adoeceu: e enviou mensageiros, e disse-lhes: Ide, e perguntai a Baal-zebub, deus de Ekron, se sararei desta doença.
3 And an angel of the Lord called Eliu the Thesbite, saying, Arise, and go to meet the messengers of Ochozias king of Samaria, and you shall say to them, [Is it] because there is no God in Israel, [that] you go to enquire of Baal fly, the God of Accaron? but [it shall] not [be] so.
Mas o anjo do Senhor disse a Elias tesbita: Levanta-te, sobe para encontrar-te com os mensageiros do rei de Samaria: e dize-lhes: Porventura não há Deus em Israel, que vades consultar a Baal-zebub, deus de Ekron?
4 For thus says the Lord, The bed on which you are gone up, you shall not come down from it, for you shall surely die. And Eliu went, and said [so] to them.
E por isso assim diz o Senhor; Da cama, a que subiste, não descerás, mas sem falta morrerás. Então Elias partiu.
5 And the messengers returned to him, and he said to them, Why have you returned?
E os mensageiros voltaram para ele; e ele lhes disse: Que há, que voltastes?
6 And they said to him, A man came up to meet us, and said to us, Go, return to the king that sent you, and say to him, Thus says the Lord, [Is it] because there is no God in Israel, [that] you go to enquire of Baal fly, the God of Accaron? [it shall] not [be] so: the bed on which you are gone up, you shall not come down from it, for you shall surely die.
E eles lhe disseram: Um homem nos saiu ao encontro, e nos disse: Ide, voltai para o rei que vos mandou, e dizei-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor: Porventura não há Deus em Israel, para que mandes consultar a Baal-zebub, deus de Ekron? Portanto da cama, a que subiste, não descerás, mas sem falta morrerás.
7 So they returned and reported to the king as Eliu said: and he said to them, What [was] the manner of the man who went up to meet you, and spoke to you these words?
E ele lhes disse: Qual era o trajo do homem que vos veio ao encontro e vos falou estas palavras?
8 And they said to him, [He was] a hairy man, and girded with a leather girdle about his loins. And he said, This is Eliu the Thesbite.
E eles lhe disseram: Um homem era vestido de pelos, e com os lombos cingidos dum cinto de couro. Então disse ele: É Elias, o tesbita.
9 And he sent to him a captain of fifty and his fifty; and he went up to him: and, behold, Eliu sat on the top of a mountain. And the captain of fifty spoke to him, and said, O man of God, the king has called you, come down.
Então lhe enviou um capitão de cincoênta: e, subindo a ele, (porque eis que estava assentado no cume do monte), disse-lhe: Homem de Deus, o rei diz: Desce.
10 And Eliu answered and said to the captain of fifty, And if I [am] a man of God, fire shall come down out of heaven, and devour you and your fifty. And fire came down out of heaven, and devoured him and his fifty.
Mas Elias respondeu, e disse ao capitão de cincoênta: Se eu pois sou homem de Deus, desça fogo do céu, e te consuma a ti e aos teus cincoênta. Então fogo desceu do céu, e o consumiu a ele e aos seus cincoênta.
11 And the king sent a second time to him another captain of fifty, and his fifty. And the captain of fifty spoke to him, and said, O man of God, thus says the king, Come down quickly.
E tornou a enviar-lhe outro capitão de cincoênta, com os seus cincoênta; este lhe falou, e disse: Homem de Deus, assim diz o rei: Desce depressa.
12 And Eliu answered and spoke to him, and said, If I [am] a man of God, fire shall come down out of heaven, and devour you and your fifty. And fire came down out of heaven, and devoured him and his fifty.
E respondeu Elias, e disse-lhe: Se eu sou homem de Deus, desça fogo do céu, e te consuma a ti e aos teus cincoênta. Então fogo de Deus desceu do céu, e o consumiu a ele e aos seus cincoênta.
13 And the king sent yet again a captain and his fifty. And the third captain of fifty came, and knelt on his knees before Eliu, and entreated him, and spoke to him and said, O man of God, let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your eyes.
E tornou a enviar outro capitão dos terceiros cincoênta, com os seus cincoênta: então subiu o capitão de cincoênta, e veio, e pôs-se de joelhos diante de Elias, e suplicou-lhe, e disse-lhe: Homem de Deus, seja, peço-te, preciosa aos teus olhos a minha vida, e a vida destes cincoênta teus servos.
14 Behold, fire came down from heaven, and devoured the two first captains of fifty: and now, I pray, let my life be precious in your eyes.
Eis que fogo desceu do céu, e consumiu aqueles dois primeiros capitães de cincoênta, com os seus cincoênta: porém agora seja preciosa aos teus olhos a minha vida.
15 And the angel of the Lord spoke to Eliu, and said, Go down with him, be not afraid of them. And Eliu rose up, and went down with him to the king.
Então o anjo do Senhor disse a Elias: Desce com este, não temas. E levantou-se, e desceu com ele ao rei.
16 And Eliu spoke to him, and said, Thus says the Lord, Why have you sent messengers to enquire of Baal fly, the god of Accaron? [it shall] not [be] so: the bed on which you are gone up, you shall not come down from it, for you shall surely die.
E disse-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor: Porque enviaste mensageiros a consultar a Baal-zebub, deus de Ekron? Porventura é porque não há Deus em Israel, para consultar a sua palavra? portanto desta cama, a que subiste, não descerás, mas certamente morrerás.
17 So he died according to the word of the Lord which Eliu has spoken.
Assim pois morreu, conforme à palavra do Senhor, que Elias falara; e Jorão começou a reinar no seu lugar no ano segundo de Jehorão, filho de Josaphat rei de Judá: porquanto não tinha filho.
18 And the rest of the acts of Ochozias which he did, behold, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
O mais dos feitos de Achazias, que tinha feito, porventura não está escrito no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel?
