Kings IV 22
1 Josias [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name [was] Jedia, daughter of Edeia of Basuroth.
౧యోషీయా ఏలడం ఆరంభించినప్పుడు, అతని వయసు ఎనిమిది సంవత్సరాలు. అతడు యెరూషలేములో 31 సంవత్సరాలు ఏలాడు. అతని తల్లి పేరు యెదీదా. ఆమె బొస్కతు ఊరివాడైన అదాయా కూతురు.
2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in all the way of David his father; he turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
౨అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టిలో యథార్ధంగా నడుస్తూ, కుడి ఎడమలకు తిరగకుండా తన పితరుడు దావీదు చూపించిన దారిలో నడిచాడు.
3 And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josias, in the eighth month, the king sent Sapphan the son of Ezelias the son of Mesollam, the scribe of the house of the Lord, saying,
౩రాజైన యోషీయా పరిపాలనలో 18 వ సంవత్సరంలో, అతడు మెషుల్లాముకు పుట్టిన అజల్యా కొడుకూ, శాస్త్రి అయిన షాఫానును యెహోవా మందిరానికి వెళ్ళమన్నాడు. రాజు అతనితో,
4 Go up to Chelcias the high priest, and take account of the money that is brought into the house of the Lord, which they that keep the door have collected of the people.
౪“నీవు ప్రధాన యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా దగ్గరికి వెళ్లి, ద్వారపాలకులు ప్రజల దగ్గర వసూలు చేసి యెహోవా మందిరంలో ఉంచిన డబ్బు మొత్తం ఎంతో లెక్క చూడమని అతనితో చెప్పు.
5 And let them give it into the hand of the workmen that are appointed in the house of the Lord. And he gave it to the workmen in the house of the Lord, to repair the breaches of the house,
౫యెహోవా మందిరపు పనికి అధికారులుగా ఉండి పని జరిగించేవాళ్ళ చేతికి ఆ డబ్బు అప్పగించాలి. ఆ తరువాత యెహోవా మందిరంలో శిథిలమైన స్థలాలను బాగుచేయడానికి యెహోవా మందిరపు పనిచేసే కూలివాళ్లకు వారు ఆ డబ్బు ఇవ్వాలి.
6 [even] to the carpenters, and builders, and masons, [and] also to purchase timber and hewn stones, to repair the breaches of the house.
౬వడ్రంగి వాళ్ళకూ, శిల్పకారులకూ, తాపీ పని వాళ్ళకూ, మందిరాన్ని బాగు చెయ్యడానికి మానులు, చెక్కిన రాళ్ళు కొనడానికి ఆ డబ్బు ఇవ్వాలని చెప్పు” అన్నాడు.
7 Only they did not call them to account for the money that was given to them, because they dealt faithfully.
౭ఆ అధికారులు నమ్మకస్థులు గనుక వాళ్ళ చేతికి అప్పగించిన డబ్బు గురించి వాళ్ళ దగ్గర లెక్క తీసుకోవలసిన పని లేదు.
8 And Chelcias the high priest said to Saphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Chelcias gave the book to Sapphan, and he read it.
౮అప్పుడు, ప్రధానయాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా “యెహోవా మందిరంలో ధర్మశాస్త్ర గ్రంథం నాకు దొరికింది” అని షాఫాను అనే శాస్త్రితో చెప్పి ఆ గ్రంథాన్ని, షాఫానుకు అప్పగించాడు. అతడు దాన్ని చదివి
9 And he went into the house of the Lord to the king, and reported the matter to the king, and said, Your servants have collected the money that was found in the house of the Lord, and have given it into the hand of the workmen that are appointed in the house of the Lord.
౯రాజు దగ్గరికి తిరిగి వచ్చి “మీ సేవకులు మందిరంలో దొరికిన డబ్బు సమకూర్చి యెహోవా మందిరపు పని విషయంలో అధికారులుగా ఉండి, పని జరిగించేవాళ్ళ చేతికి అప్పగించారు” అని వార్త చెప్పి,
10 And Sapphan the scribe spoke to the king, saying, Chelcias the priest has given me a book. And Sapphan read it before the king.
౧౦“యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా నాకు ఒక గ్రంథం అప్పగించాడు” అని రాజుతో చెప్పి ఆ గ్రంథం రాజు సముఖంలో చదివాడు.
11 And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the book of the law, that he tore his garments.
౧౧రాజు ధర్మశాస్త్ర గ్రంథంలో ఉన్న మాటలు విన్నప్పుడు తన బట్టలు చింపుకున్నాడు.
12 And the king commanded Chelcias the priest, and Achikam the son of Sapphan, and Achobor the son of Michaias, and Sapphan the scribe, and Asaias the king's servant, saying,
౧౨తరువాత రాజు యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా, షాఫాను కొడుకు అహీకాము, మీకాయా కొడుకు అక్బోరు అనే వాళ్ళనూ, షాఫాను అనే శాస్త్రినీ, అశాయా అనే రాజసేవకుల్లో ఒకణ్ణి పిలిచి వాళ్లకు ఇలా ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.
13 Go, enquire of the Lord for me, and for all the people, and for all Juda, and concerning the words of this book that has been found: for the wrath of the Lord that has been kindled against us [is] great, because our fathers listened not to the words of this book, to do according to all the things written concerning us.
౧౩“మీరు వెళ్లి, దొరికిన ఈ గ్రంథంలోని మాటలను గురించి నా విషయంలో, ప్రజల విషయంలో, యూదా వాళ్ళందరి విషయంలో, యెహోవాను అడగండి. మన పూర్వికులు తమ విషయంలో రాసి ఉన్న దానంతటి ప్రకారం చెయ్యకుండా ఈ గ్రంథపు మాటలు వినలేదు గనుక యెహోవా కోపాగ్ని మన మీద ఇంత ఎక్కువగా మండుతూ ఉంది” అన్నాడు.
14 So Chelcias the priest went, and Achicam, and Achobor, and Sapphan, and Asaias, to Olda the prophetess, the mother of Sellem the son of Thecuan son of Aras, keeper of the robes; and she lived in Jerusalem in Masena; and they spoke to her.
౧౪కాబట్టి యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా, అహికాము, అక్బోరు, షాఫాను, అశాయా, స్త్రీ ప్రవక్త హుల్దా దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు. ఈమె వస్త్రశాలకు అధికారి అయిన హర్హషుకు పుట్టిన తిక్వా కొడుకు షల్లూము భార్య. ఈమె యెరూషలేములో రెండో భాగంలో కాపురం ఉంది. ఈమె దగ్గరికి వారు వచ్చి మాటలాడారు.
15 And she said to them, Thus says the Lord God of Israel, Say to the man that sent you to me,
౧౫ఆమె వాళ్ళతో “మిమ్మల్ని నా దగ్గరికి పంపిన వానితో ఈ మాట చెప్పండి.
16 Thus says the Lord, Behold, I bring evil upon this place, and upon them that dwell in it, [even] all the words of the book which the king of Juda has read:
౧౬యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమంటే, యూదా రాజు చదివించిన గ్రంథంలో రాసి ఉన్న కీడంతా, ఏదీ విడిచి పెట్టకుండా నేను ఈ స్థలం మీదకీ, దాని పౌరుల మీదకీ రప్పిస్తాను.
17 because they have forsaken me, and burnt incense to other gods, that they might provoke me with the works of their hands: therefore my wrath shall burn forth against this place, and shall not be quenched.
౧౭ఈ ప్రజలు నన్ను విడిచి ఇతర దేవుళ్ళకు ధూపం వేస్తూ చేసిన ప్రతి పనీ నాకు కోపం పుట్టించింది గనుక నా కోపం ఆరిపోకుండా, ఈ స్థలం మీద రగులుకుంటుంది.
18 And to the king of Juda that sent you to enquire of the Lord, —thus shall you say to him, Thus says the Lord God of Israel, [As for] the words which you have heard;
౧౮యెహోవాను సంప్రదించడానికి మిమ్మల్ని పంపిన యూదా రాజుకు ఈ మాట తెలియపరచండి.
19 because your heart was softened, and you was humbled before [me], when you heard all that I spoke against this place, and against the inhabitants of it, that it should be utterly destroyed and accursed, and you did rend your garments, and weep before me; I also have heard, says the Lord.
౧౯ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమంటే, ఈ స్థలం పాడవుతుందని, దాని కాపురస్థులు శాపానికి గురి అవుతారని నేను చెప్పిన మాటలు నీవు ఆలకించి, మెత్తని మనస్సు కలిగి యెహోవా సన్నిధిలో దీనత్వం కలిగి, నీ బట్టలు చింపుకుని నా సన్నిధిలో కన్నీళ్లు కార్చావు గనుక నీవు చేసిన మనవి నేను అంగీకరించాను.
20 It shall not be so [therefore]: behold, I [will] add you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your tomb in peace, and your eyes shall not see [any] amongst all the evils which I bring upon this place.
౨౦నేను నిన్ను నీ పితరుల దగ్గరికి చేరుస్తాను. నీవు ప్రశాంతంగా సమాధికి వెళ్తావు. నేను ఈ స్థలం మీదకి రప్పించే కీడును నీవు నీ కళ్ళతో చూడనే చూడవు. ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు” అని చెప్పింది. అప్పుడు, వారు ఈ వార్త రాజు దగ్గరికి తెచ్చారు.
