Chronicles II 19

1 And Josaphat king of Juda returned to his house at Jerusalem.

૧યહૂદિયાનો રાજા યહોશાફાટ સુરક્ષિત રીતે યરુશાલેમમાં પોતાના ઘરે પાછો ફર્યો.

2 And there went out to meet him Jeu the prophet the son of Anani, and said to him, King Josaphat, do you help a sinner, or act friendly towards one hated of the Lord? Therefore has wrath come upon you from the Lord.

૨ત્યારે પ્રબોધક હનાનીનો દીકરો યેહૂ યહોશાફાટ રાજાને મળવા ગયો અને તેને કહ્યું, “શું તારે દુર્જનોને મદદ કરવી જોઈએ? અને જેઓ ઈશ્વરને ધિક્કારે છે તેઓ પર શું તારે પ્રેમ કરવો જોઈએ? એને લીધે ઈશ્વરનો કોપ તારા પર પ્રગટ થયો છે.

3 Nevertheless [some] good things have been found in you, forasmuch as you did remove the groves from the land of Juda, and did direct your heart to seek after the Lord.

૩તોપણ તારામાં કંઈક સારી બાબતો માલૂમ પડી છે, કેમ કે તેં દેશમાંથી અશેરોથ મૂર્તિને હઠાવી દીધી છે. અને ઈશ્વર પ્રત્યે વિશ્વાસુ રહેવામાં તારું મન વાળ્યું છે.”

4 And Josaphat lived in Jerusalem: and he again went out amongst the people from Bersabee to the mount of Ephraim, and turned them back to the Lord God of their fathers.

૪યહોશાફાટ યરુશાલેમમાં રહ્યો; અને ફરીથી બેરશેબાથી માંડીને એફ્રાઇમના પહાડી પ્રદેશ સુધી લોકોમાં ફરીને તેણે તેઓના પિતૃઓના પ્રભુ ઈશ્વર તરફ તેઓનાં મન ફેરવ્યાં.

5 And he appointed judges in all the strong cities of Juda, city by city.

૫તેણે દેશમાં, એટલે યહૂદિયાના સર્વ કિલ્લાવાળાં નગરોમાંના પ્રત્યેક નગરમાં, ન્યાયાધીશો નીમ્યા.

6 And he said to the judges, Take good heed what you do: for you judge not for man, but for the Lord, and with you are matters of judgement.

૬તેણે ન્યાયાધીશોને કહ્યું, “તમે જે ન્યાય કરો તે વિચારીને કરજો કેમ કે તમે માણસો તરફથી ન્યાય કરતા નથી પણ ઈશ્વરના નામે ન્યાય કરો છો; યાદ રાખજો કે તમે જ્યારે ઇનસાફ કરો ત્યારે ઈશ્વર તમારી સાથે હોય છે.

7 And now let the fear of the Lord be upon you, and be wary, and do [your duty]: for there is no unrighteousness with the Lord our God, neither [is it for him] to respect persons, nor take bribes.

૭માટે હવે ઈશ્વરનો ડર રાખીને ચાલજો. જયારે તમે ન્યાય કરો ત્યારે સાંભળીને કરજો, કેમ કે આપણા પ્રભુ, ઈશ્વરને અન્યાય, પક્ષપાત અને લાંચ રુશવત પસંદ નથી.”

8 Moreover Josaphat appointed in Jerusalem some of the priests, and Levites, and heads of houses of Israel, for the judgement of the Lord, and to judge the dwellers in Jerusalem.

૮ઉપરાંત, યહોશાફાટે ઈશ્વરના નિયમ સંબંધી ન્યાય ચૂકવવા માટે અને તકરારો માટે યરુશાલેમમાં લેવીઓ, યાજકો અને ઇઝરાયલના કુટુંબોના વડીલોમાંથી કેટલાકને નિયુકત કર્યા. તેઓ યરુશાલેમમાં આવ્યા.

9 And he charged them, saying, Thus shall you do in the fear of the Lord, in truth and with a perfect heart.

૯તેણે તેઓને સૂચનો આપ્યાં, “ઈશ્વરને આદર આપતા તમારે વિશ્વાસુપણાથી અને સંપૂર્ણ હૃદયથી વર્તવું.

10 Whatsoever man of your brethren that dwell in their cities [shall bring] the cause that comes before you, between blood [and] blood, and between precept and commandment, and ordinances and judgements, you shall even decide for them; so they shall not sin against the Lord, and there shall not be wrath upon you, and upon your brethren: thus you shall do, and you shall not sin.

૧૦જયારે પોતાનાં નગરોમાં રહેતા તમારા ભાઈઓના ખૂન, નિયમો અને આજ્ઞાઓ, મૂર્તિઓ અથવા વ્યવસ્થા સંબંધી કોઈપણ તકરાર તમારી પાસે આવે ત્યારે તમારે લોકોને ચેતવણી આપવી કે, તેઓ ઈશ્વરની વિરુદ્ધ પાપ ન કરે અને તેથી ઈશ્વરનો કોપ તમારા ઉપર અને તમારા ભાઈઓ ઊપર ઊતરે નહિ. જો તમે આ પ્રમાણે વર્તશો તો તમે દોષિત ઠરશો નહિ.

11 And, behold, Amarias the priest is head over you in every matter of the Lord; and Zabdias the son of Ismael is head over the house of Juda in every matter of the king; and the scribes and Levites are before you: be strong and active, and the Lord shall be with the good.

૧૧જુઓ, તે મુખ્ય યાજક અમાર્યા, ઈશ્વર સંબંધી બધી બાબતોમાં તમારો અધિકારી છે. રાજાને લગતી તમામ બાબતોમાં યહૂદા કુળનો આગેવાન ઇશ્માએલનો પુત્ર ઝબાદ્યા તમારો અધિકારી થશે. લેવીઓ પણ તમારા અધિકારીઓની સેવા માટે હશે. હિંમતપૂર્વક વર્તજો. નિર્દોષનું રક્ષણ કરવા માટે ઈશ્વર તમારો ઉપયોગ કરો.”
