Kings I 31
1 And the Philistines fought with Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and they fall down wounded in the mountain in Gelbue.
௧பெலிஸ்தர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலர்களோடு யுத்தம்செய்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் பெலிஸ்தர்களுக்கு முன்பாக பயந்தோடி, கில்போவா மலையிலே வெட்டுண்டு இறந்தார்கள்.
2 And the Philistines press closely on Saul and his sons, and the Philistines strike Jonathan, and Aminadab, and Melchisa son of Saul.
௨பெலிஸ்தர்கள் சவுலையும் அவனுடைய மகன்களையும் நெருங்கித் தொடர்ந்து, சவுலின் மகனாகிய யோனத்தானையும் அபினதாபையும் மல்கிசூவாவையும் வெட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்.
3 And the battle prevails against Saul, and the shooters with arrows, even the archers find him, and he was wounded under the ribs.
௩சவுலுக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம் பலத்தது; வில்வீரர்கள் அவனைக் கண்டு நெருங்கினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது சவுல் வில்வீரர்களால் மிகவும் காயப்பட்டு,
4 And Saul said to his armour-bearer, Draw your sword and pierce me through with it; lest these uncircumcised come and pierce me through, and mock me. But his armour-bearer would not, for he feared greatly: so Saul took his sword and fell upon it.
௪தன்னுடைய ஆயுததாரியைப் பார்த்து: அந்த விருத்தசேதனம் இல்லாதவர்கள் வந்து, என்னைக் குத்திப்போட்டு, என்னை அவமானப்படுத்தாதபடி, நீ உன்னுடைய பட்டயத்தை உருவி, என்னைக் குத்திப்போடு என்றான்; அவனுடைய ஆயுததாரி மிகவும் பயப்பட்டதால், அப்படிச் செய்யமாட்டேன் என்றான்; அப்பொழுது சவுல் பட்டயத்தை நிலத்திலே குத்தி வைத்து அதின்மேல் விழுந்தான்.
5 And his armour-bearer saw that Saul was dead, and he fell also himself upon his sword, and died with him.
௫சவுல் இறந்துபோனதை அவன் ஆயுததாரி கண்டபோது, அவனும் தன்னுடைய பட்டயத்தின்மேல் விழுந்து, அவனோடு இறந்துபோனான்.
6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armour-bearer, in that day together.
௬அப்படியே அன்றையதினம் சவுலும், அவன் மூன்று மகன்களும், அவனுடைய ஆயுதம் ஏந்துபவனும், அவனுடைய எல்லா மனிதர்களும் ஒன்றாக இறந்துபோனார்கள்.
7 And the men of Israel who were on the other side of the valley, and those beyond Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead; and they leave their cities and flee: and the Philistines come and dwell in them.
௭இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் பயந்தோடினார்கள் என்றும், சவுலும் அவனுடைய மகன்களும் இறந்துவிட்டார்கள் என்றும், பள்ளத்தாக்குக்கு இப்புறத்திலும் யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்திலும் இருந்த இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களை விட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர்கள் வந்து, அவைகளிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.
8 And it came to pass on the morrow that the Philistines come to strip the dead, and they find Saul and his three sons fallen on the mountains of Gelbue.
௮வெட்டுண்டவர்களை கொள்ளையிட, பெலிஸ்தர்கள் மறுநாள் வந்தபோது, அவர்கள், சவுலும் அவனுடைய மூன்று மகன்களும் கில்போவா மலையிலே விழுந்துகிடக்கிறதைக் கண்டு,
9 And they turned him, and stripped off his armour, and sent it into the land of the Philistines, sending round glad tidings to their idols and to the people.
௯அவனுடைய தலையை வெட்டி, அவனுடைய ஆயுதங்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, தங்களுடைய விக்கிரகங்களின் கோவில்களிலும் மக்களுக்குள்ளும் செய்தியைப் பரப்பும்படி, அவைகளைப் பெலிஸ்தர்கள் தேசத்திலே சுற்றிலும் அனுப்பி,
10 And they set up his armour at the temple of Astarte, and they fastened his body on the wall of Baethsam.
௧0அவனுடைய ஆயுதங்களை அஸ்தரோத் தேவனுடைய கோவிலிலே வைத்து, அவனுடைய உடலைப் பெத்சானின் சுவற்றிலே தூக்கிப்போட்டார்கள்.
11 And the inhabitants of Jabis Galaad hear what the Philistines did to Saul.
௧௧பெலிஸ்தர்கள் சவுலுக்குச் செய்ததைக் கீலேயாத் தேசத்து யாபேஸ் பட்டணத்தார்கள் கேட்டபோது,
12 And they rose up, [even] every man of might, and marched all night, and took the body of Saul and the body of Jonathan his son from the wall of Baethsam; and they bring them to Jabis, and burn them there.
௧௨அவர்களிலே பலசாலிகள் எல்லோரும் எழுந்து இரவு முழுவதும் நடந்துபோய், பெத்சானின் சுவற்றிலிருந்த சவுலின் உடலையும் அவன் மகன்களின் உடல்களையும் எடுத்து, யாபேசுக்குக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவைகளை அங்கே தகனம்செய்து,
13 And they take their bones, and bury them in the field that is in Jabis, and fast seven days.
௧௩அவர்களுடைய எலும்புகளை எடுத்து, யாபேசிலிருக்கிற தோப்பிலே அடக்கம்செய்து, ஏழுநாள் உபவாசம்செய்தார்கள்.
