1 And the sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel (for he [was] the firstborn; but because of his going up to his father's couch, [his father] gave his blessing to his son Joseph, [even] the son of Israel; and he was not reckoned as firstborn;
And [the] sons of Reuben [the] firstborn of Israel for he [was] the firstborn and when profaned he [the] beds of father his it was given birthright his to [the] sons of Joseph [the] son of Israel and not to have themselves enrolled to the birthright.
2 for Judas [was] very mighty even amongst his brethren, and one was to be a ruler out of him: but the blessing [was] Joseph's).
For Judah he was strong among brothers his and to a leader [was] from him and the birthright [belonged] to Joseph.
3 The sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel; Enoch, and Phallus, Asrom, and Charmi.
[the] sons of Reuben [the] firstborn of Israel Hanoch and Pallu Hezron and Carmi.
4 The sons of Joel; Semei, and Banaia his son: and the sons of Gug the son of Semei.
[the] descendants of Joel Shemaiah son his Gog son his Shimei son his.
5 His son [was] Micha, his son Recha, his son Joel,
Micah son his Reaiah son his Baal son his.
6 his son Beel, whom Thagla-phallasar king of Assyria carried away captive: he [is] the chief of the Rubenites.
Beerah son his whom he took into exile Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria he [was] a leader of the Reubenite[s].
7 And his brethren in his family, in their distribution according to their generations; the chief, Joel, and Zacharia.
And relatives his to clans his by genealogical enrolment to generations their [were] the chief Jeiel and Zechariah.
8 And Balec the son of Azuz, the son of Sama, the son of Joel: he lived in Aroer, and even to Naban, and Beelmasson.
And Bela [the] son of Azaz [the] son of Shema [the] son of Joel he [was] dwelling in Aroer and to Nebo and Baal Meon.
9 And he lived eastward to the borders of the wilderness, from the river Euphrates: for they had much cattle in the land of Galaad.
And to the east he dwelt till to [the] entrance of [the] wilderness from the river Euphrates for livestock their they had increased in [the] land of Gilead.
10 And in the days of Saul they made war upon the sojourners [in the land]; and they fell into their hands, all of them dwelling in their tents eastward of Galaad.
And in [the] days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites and they fell by hand their and they dwelt in tents their on all [the] face of [the] east of Gilead.
11 The sons of Gad lived over against them in the land of Basan even to Sela.
And [the] descendants of Gad to before them they dwelt in [the] land of Bashan to Salecah.
12 Joel the firstborn, and Sapham the second, and Janin the scribe in Basan.
Joel [was] the chief and Shapham [was] the second and Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 And their brethren according to the houses of their fathers; Michael, Mosollam, and Sebee, and Joree, and Joachan, and Zue, and Obed, seven.
And relatives their to [the] house of ancestors their Michael and Meshullam and Sheba and Jorai and Jakan and Zia and Eber seven.
14 These [are] the sons of Abichaia the son of Uri, the son of Idai, the son of Galaad, the son of Michael, the son of Jesai, the son of Jeddai, the son of Buz,
These - [were] [the] sons of Abihail [the] son of Huri [the] son of Jaroah [the] son of Gilead [the] son of Michael [the] son of Jeshishai [the] son of Jahdo [the] son of Buz.
15 [who was] the brother of the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, [he was] chief of the house of their families.
Ahi [the] son of Abdiel [the] son of Guni [was] chief of [the] house of ancestors their.
16 They lived in Galaad, in Basan, and in their villages, and [in] all the country round about Saron to the border.
And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan and in daughters its and in all [the] pasture lands of Sharon on (extremities their. *LA(bh)*)
17 The enumeration of [them] all took place in the days of Joatham king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
All of them they had themselves enrolled in [the] days of Jotham [the] king of Judah and in [the] days Jeroboam [the] king of Israel.
18 The sons of Ruben and Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasse, of mighty men, bearing shields and sword, and bending the bow, and skilled in war, [were] forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going forth to battle.
[the] descendants of Reuben and [the] Gadite[s] and [the] half of [the] tribe of Manasseh from [the] sons of strength men [who] carried shield and sword and [who] bent a bow and [who] were trained of warfare forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty [those who] went forth of war.
19 And they made war with the Agarenes, and Itureans, and Naphiseans, and Nadabeans,
And they made war with the Hagrites and Jetur and Naphish and Nodab.
20 and they prevailed against them: and the Agaraeans were given into their hands, [they] and all their tents: for they cried to God in the battle, and he listened to them, because they trusted on him.
And they were helped on them and they were given in hand their the Hagrites and all [those] who [were] with them for to God they had cried out in the battle and he was entreated by them for they trusted in him.
21 And they took captive their store; five thousand camels, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand men.
And they took captive livestock their camels their fifty thousand and sheep two hundred and fifty thousand and donkeys two thousand and person[s] of humankind one hundred thousand.
22 For many fell slain, because the war [was] of God. And they lived in their place until the captivity.
For slain [ones] many they fell for [was] from God the battle and they dwelt in place of them until the exile.
23 And the half-tribe of Manasse lived from Basan to Baal, Ermon, and Sanir, and [to] the mount Aermon: and they increased in Libanus.
And [the] descendants of [the] half of [the] tribe of Manasseh they dwelt in the land from Bashan to Baal Hermon and Senir and [the] mountain of Hermon they they multiplied.
24 And these were the heads of the houses of their families; Opher, and Sei, and Eliel, and Jeremia, and Oduia, and Jediel, mighty men of valour, men of renown, heads of the houses of their families.
And these [were] [the] chiefs of [the] house of ancestors their and Epher and Ishi and Eliel and Azriel and Jeremiah and Hodaviah and Jahdiel men mighty of strength men of names chiefs of [the] house of ancestors their.
25 But they rebelled against the God of their fathers, and went a-whoring after the gods of the nations of the land, whom God cast out from before them.
And they acted unfaithfully against [the] God of ancestors their and they played [the] prostitute after [the] gods of [the] peoples of the land which he had destroyed God from before them.
26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Phaloch king of Assyria, and the spirit of Thagla-phallasar king of Assyria, and carried away Ruben and Gaddi, and the half-tribe of Manasse, and brought them to Chaach, and Chabor, and to the river Gozan, until this day.
And he stirred up [the] God of Israel [the] spirit of - Pul [the] king of Assyria and [the] spirit of Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria and he took into exile them to the Reubenite[s] and to the Gadite[s] and to [the] half of [the] tribe of Manasseh and he brought them to Halah and Habor and Hara and [the] river of Gozan until the day this.
