Psalms 82

1 A Psalm for Asaph. God stands in the assembly of gods; and in the midst [of them] will judge gods.

ஆசாபின் சங்கீதம். மகா சபையிலே இறைவன் தலைமை வகிக்கிறார்; “கடவுள்களுக்கு” நடுவிலே அவர் தீர்ப்பு வழங்குகிறார்:

2 How long will ye judge unrighteously, and accept the persons of sinners? (Pause)

“நீங்கள் எதுவரைக்கும் அநீதியான தீர்ப்பு வழங்கி, கொடியவர்களுக்குப் பாரபட்சம் காட்டுவீர்கள்?

3 Judge the orphan and poor: do justice to the low and needy.

பலவீனருக்கும், தந்தையற்றோருக்கும் நீதி வழங்குங்கள்; ஏழைகளுடைய ஒடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களுடைய உரிமைகளுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பளியுங்கள்.

4 Rescue the needy, and deliver the poor out of the hand of the sinner.

பலவீனரையும் ஏழைகளையும் தப்புவியுங்கள்; அவர்களைக் கொடியவர்களின் கையிலிருந்து விடுவியுங்கள்.

5 They know not, nor understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.

“அவர்கள் எதையும் அறியாமலும், விளங்கிக்கொள்ளாமலும் இருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் இருளிலேயே நடக்கிறார்கள்; பூமியின் அடித்தளங்கள் எல்லாம் அசைக்கப்படுகின்றன.

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all [of you] children of the Most High.

“‘நீங்கள் “தெய்வங்கள்” என்றும்; நீங்கள் எல்லோருமே மகா உன்னதமானவரின் மகன்கள்’ என்றும் நான் சொன்னேன்.

7 But ye die as men, and fall as one of the princes.

ஆனாலும், நீங்கள் சாதாரண மனிதர்களைப் போலவே சாவீர்கள்; மற்ற எல்லா ஆளுநர்களையும் போலவே நீங்களும் விழுவீர்கள்.”

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

இறைவனே எழுந்தருளும், பூமியை நியாயம் தீர்த்தருளும்; ஏனெனில் எல்லா நாட்டு மக்களும் உமது உரிமைச்சொத்தே.
