Psalms 80
1 For the end, for alternate [strains], a testimony for Asaph, a Psalm concerning the Assyrian. Attend, O Shepherd of Israel, who guidest Joseph like a flock; thou who sittest upon the cherubs, manifest thyself;
Ein Psalm Assaphs von den Spanrosen, vorzusingen. Du Hirte Israels, höre, der du Joseph hütest wie der Schafe; erscheine, der du sitzest über Cherubim!
2 before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasse, stir up thy power, and come to deliver us.
Erwecke deine Gewalt, der du vor Ephraim, Benjamin und Manasse bist, und komm uns zu Hilfe!
3 Turn us, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be delivered.
Gott, tröste uns und laß leuchten dein Antlitz, so genesen wir.
4 O Lord God of hosts, how long art thou angry with the prayer of thy servant?
HERR, Gott Zebaoth, wie lange willst du zürnen über dem Gebet deines Volks?
5 Thou wilt feed us with bread of tears; and wilt cause us to drink tears by measure.
Du speisest sie mit Tränenbrot und tränkest sie mit großem Maß voll Tränen.
6 Thou has made us a strife to our neighbours; and our enemies have mocked at us.
Du setzest uns unsern Nachbarn zum Zank, und unsere Feinde spotten unser.
7 Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. (Pause)
Gott Zebaoth, tröste uns! Laß leuchten dein Antlitz, so genesen wir.
8 Thou hast transplanted a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
Du hast einen Weinstock aus Ägypten geholet und hast vertrieben die Heiden und denselben gepflanzet.
9 Thou madest a way before it, and didst cause its roots to strike, and the land was filled [with it].
Du hast vor ihm die Bahn gemacht und hast ihn lassen einwurzeln, daß er das Land erfüllet hat.
10 Its shadow covered the mountains, and its shoots [equalled] the goodly cedars.
Berge sind mit seinem Schatten bedeckt und mit seinen Reben die Zedern Gottes.
11 It sent forth its branches to the sea, and its shoots to the river.
Du hast sein Gewächs ausgebreitet bis ans Meer und seine Zweige bis ans Wasser.
12 Wherefore hast thou broken down its hedge, while all that pass by the way pluck it?
Warum hast du denn seinen Zaun zerbrochen, daß ihn zerreißet alles, das vorübergehet?
13 The boar out of the wood has laid it waste, and the wild beast has devoured it.
Es haben ihn zerwühlet die wilden Säue, und die wilden Tiere haben ihn verderbet.
14 O God of hosts, turn, we pray thee: look on [us] from heaven, and behold and visit this vine;
Gott Zebaoth, wende dich doch, schaue vom Himmel und siehe an und suche heim diesen Weinstock
15 and restore that which thy right hand has planted: and look on the son of man whom thou didst strengthen for thyself.
und halt ihn im Bau, den deine Rechte gepflanzet hat, und den du dir festiglich erwählet hast.
16 [It is] burnt with fire and dug up: they shall perish at the rebuke of thy presence.
Siehe drein und schilt, daß des Brennens und Reißens ein Ende werde!
17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, and upon the son of man whom thou didst strengthen for thyself.
Deine Hand schütze das Volk deiner Rechten und die Leute, die du dir festiglich erwählet hast,
18 So will we not depart from thee: thou shalt quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
so wollen wir nicht von dir weichen. Laß uns leben, so wollen wir deinen Namen anrufen.
19 Turn us, O Lord God of hosts, and make thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
