Psalms 75

1 For the end, Destroy not, a Psalm of a Song for Asaph. We will give thanks to thee, O God, we will give thanks, and call upon thy name: I will declare all thy wonderful works.

Pour la fin. Ne corrompez pas. Psaume d’un cantique d’Asaph. Nous vous louerons, ô Dieu, nous louerons, et nous invoquerons votre nom. Nous raconterons vos merveilles.

2 When I shall take a set time, I will judge righteously.

Lorsque j’aurai pris mon temps, c’est moi qui jugerai les justices.

3 The earth is dissolved, and all that dwell in it: I have strengthened its pillars. (Pause)

La terre s’est fondue, et tous ceux qui y habitent. C’est moi qui ai affermi ses colonnes.

4 I said unto the transgressors, Do not transgress; and to the sinners, Lift not up the horn.

J’ai dit aux hommes iniques: N’agissez pas iniquement; et à ceux qui pèchent: N’élevez pas votre corne.

5 Lift not up your horn on high; speak not unrighteousness against God.

N’élevez pas en haut votre corne: ne dites pas contre Dieu d’iniquité;

6 For [good comes] neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the desert mountains.

Parce que ni de l’Orient, ni de l’Occident, ni des montagnes désertes, il ne vous viendra des secours,

7 For God is the judge; he puts down one, and raises up another.

Car c’est Dieu qui est juge. Il humilie celui-ci et il exalte celui-là;

8 For [there is] a cup in the hand of the Lord, full of unmingled wine; and he has turned [it] from side to side, but its dregs have not been wholly poured out; all the sinners of the earth shall drink [them].

Parce qu’un calice de vin pur est dans la main du Seigneur, calice plein d’un mélange.

9 But I will exult for ever: I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Pour moi, j’annoncerai à jamais, je chanterai le Dieu de Jacob.

10 And I will break all the horns of sinners; but the horns of the righteous one shall be exalted.

Et je briserai les cornes des pécheurs; et les cornes des justes seront élevées.
