< Psalms 71 >

1 By David, [a Psalm sung by] the sons of Jonadab, and the first that were taken captive. O Lord, I have hoped in thee: let me never be put to shame.
Yaa Waaqayyo, ani kooluu sitti galeera; ati gonkumaa na hin qaanessin.
2 In thy righteousness deliver me and rescue me: incline thine ear to me, and save me.
Qajeelummaa keetiin na baasi; na oolchis; gurra kee gara kootti qabi; na fayyisis.
3 Be to me a protecting God, and a strong hold to save me: for thou art my fortress and my refuge.
Ati kattaa ani kooluu itti galu, iddoo ani yeroo hunda itti baqadhu naa taʼi; ati waan kattaa koo fi daʼoo koo taateef, na baraaruuf ajaja kenni.
4 Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the sinner, from the hand of the transgressor and unjust man.
Yaa Waaqa ko, harka nama hamaa, qabaa nama jalʼaatii fi gara jabeessaa keessaa na baasi.
5 For thou art my support, O Lord; O Lord, [thou art] my hope from my youth.
Yaa Waaqayyo Gooftaa, ati abdii kootii; ijoollummaa kootii kaaftees ati Waaqa ani amanadhuu dha.
6 On thee have I been stayed from the womb: from the belly of my mother thou art my protector: of thee is my praise continually.
Ani gaafan dhaladhee jalqabee sitti irkadheera; gadameessa haadha koo keessaas situ na baase. Ani yeroo hunda sin galateeffadha.
7 I am become as it were a wonder to many: but thou art [my] strong helper.
Ani namoota baayʼeedhaaf mallattoo taʼeera; ati garuu daʼoo koo isa jabaa dha.
8 Let my mouth be filled with praise, that I may hymn thy glory, [and] thy majesty all the day.
Afaan koo guyyaa guutuu, galataa fi ulfina keetiin guutama.
9 Cast me not off at the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails.
Yeroo ani dulloomutti ati na hin gatin; yeroo humni koo dhumuttis na hin dhiisin.
10 For mine enemies have spoken against me; and they that lay wait for my soul have taken counsel together,
Diinonni koo natti mariʼatuutii; warri na ajjeesuuf riphanii eeggatanis walii wajjin natti mariʼatu.
11 saying, God has forsaken him: persecute ye and take him; for there is none to deliver [him].
Isaanis, “Waaqni isa dhiiseera; namni isa oolchu tokko iyyuu hin jiruutii faana buʼaatii qabaa” jedhu.
12 O God, go not far from me, O my God, draw nigh to my help.
Yaa Waaqi, narraa hin fagaatin; yaa Waaqa ko, na gargaaruuf dafii kottu.
13 Let those that plot against my soul be ashamed and utterly fail: let those that seek my hurt be clothed with shame and dishonour.
Warri na himatan qaanaʼanii haa badan; warri na miidhuu barbaadanis tuffii fi salphina haa uffatan.
14 But I will hope continually, and will praise thee more and more.
Ani garuu yeroo hundumaa abdii qaba; ittuma caalchisees sin galateeffadha.
15 My mouth shall declare thy righteousness openly, [and] thy salvation all the day; for I am not acquainted with the affairs [of men].
Ani yoo hammam akka inni gaʼu beekuu baadhe illee, afaan koo waaʼee qajeelummaa keetiitii fi waaʼee fayyisuu keetii guyyaa guutuu ni odeessa.
16 I will go on in the might of the Lord: O Lord, I will make mention of thy righteousness only.
Yaa Waaqayyo Gooftaa, ani dhufee hojii kee humna qabeessa sana nan odeessa; ani qajeelummaa kee qofa labsa.
17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth, and until now will I declare thy wonders;
Yaa Waaqi, ati ijoollummaa kootii jalqabdee na barsiifteerta; anis hamma harʼaatti hojii kee dinqisiisaa sana nan labsa.
18 even until I am old and advanced in years. O God, forsake me not; until I shall have declared thine arm to all the generation that is to come:
Yaa Waaqayyo, yeroo ani dulloomee mataan koo arrii taʼutti illee, hamma ani humna kee dhaloota kanatti, jabina kees dhaloota dhufuuf jiru hundatti labsuutti, ati na hin dhiisin.
19 even thy power and thy righteousness, O God, up to the highest [heavens, even] the mighty works which thou has done: O God, who is like to thee?
Yaa Waaqi, qajeelummaan kee samiiwwan bira gaʼa; ati waan gurguddaa hojjetteerta; yaa Waaqi, kan akka keetii eenyu?
20 What afflictions many and sore hast thou shewed me! yet thou didst turn and quicken me, and broughtest me again from the depths of the earth.
Ati rakkinaa fi dhiphina baayʼee na argisiifteerta; taʼus jireenya koo deebiftee ni haaromsita, qilee lafaa keessaas deebiftee ol na baafta.
21 Thou didst multiply thy righteousness, and didst turn and comfort me, and broughtest me again out of the depths of the earth.
Ulfina koo ni guddifta; amma illee na jajjabeessita.
22 I will also therefore give thanks to thee, O God, [because of] thy truth, on an instrument of psalmody: I will sing psalms to thee on the harp, O Holy One of Israel.
Yaa Waaqa ko, ani amanamummaa keetiif, kiraaraan sin faarfadha; Yaa Qulqullicha Israaʼel ani kiraaraan faarfannaa galataa siif faarfadha.
23 My lips shall rejoice when I sing to thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
Yommuu ani faarfannaa galataa siif faarfadhutti, hidhiin koo, lubbuun koo kan ati furtes guddisanii ni ililchu.
24 Moreover also my tongue shall dwell all the day upon thy righteousness; when they shall be ashamed and confounded that seek my hurt.
Warri na miidhuu barbaadan, waan qaanaʼanii burjaajaʼaniif arrabni koo guyyaa guutuu qajeelummaa kee odeessa.
